New for 2008, the LEKI Jasper Antishock Trekking Poles offer a full-range of high-performance features from locking mechanism, ergonomic grip and antishock for varied terrain. The Soft Antishock System (SAS) that reduces stress on the joints, muscles and ligaments, does so with a smooth steel-spring shock absorbing suspension. For increase uphill efficiency the SAS system can be easily turned off, and is enhanced with a SLS (Super Lock System) Locking System at the section joints. This SLS lock provides quick and easy length adjustment, and is up to 60 times more secure than other telescopic poles. By incorporating a 15-degree positive angle into the soft rubber grip, the Jasper provides a neutral ergonomic position for your wrist and hand that allows for exceptional comfort and precise tip placement. An integrated strap further reduces stress on your wrist and provides additional security and comfort. A carbide flex tip that deflects up to 30 degrees without damaging the lower pole section, reduces the risk of pole breakage if the pole gets caught between a rock and a hard place. Standard trekking baskets are included, and are interchangeable with a simple secure screw on/off design.
