too small
December 12, 2011
They seem great all around. but the size we ordered was WAY too small. I thought we'd be fine, or if anything, too large, based on others comments of them running large but that wasn't the case at all. We compared them to average gap jeans and other brands, and the waist size was noticeable almost 2 inches smaller. maybe they were labeled wrong, or they are only for a certain body type, who knows.

I really like the material of these pants. They are warm and well made. The length is good, but I do notice that they fit a little weird around the waist. There is a gap in the back. If I wear a belt it helps, but I wish I didn't have to since they fit well everywhere else. I am still going to keep them because I like how warm they are.
Pros: Build quality, Cons: weird waistgreatfall jeans

I bought these for my teen daughter, 5'2, 102lbs, in the smallest size and the length is perfect, no roll. She loves them so much she wants a second pair! They're not too heavy and they are not skinny. I might get a pair myself for riding horses.

Baggy Jeans

I bought these for my girlfriend and she did not like them, so I returned them back to Altrec.com. But, thanks to Altrec's great return policy, there were no issues or love lost. My girlfriend said the jeans fit very large, and were not true to size. She also didn't like how they were a stretchy jean material, as opposed to a straight canvas pant like Carhardt or Mountain Khakis. She also said that the fit was baggy, or "dumpy." She tried them on and said, "Who wants to look like they're actually wearing their boyfriend's jeans?" I guess she didn't realize the idea behind the Pran Lined "boyfriend" jean, or she hoped that the fit would be more like a women's pant/jean. Anyway, this pant seems like a good concept, at least to me, but it will not fit all shapes. My girlfriend is 5'10" and about 140. I got the size 8 and they were big on her. She said it felt way bigger than any other size 8 she had ever tried on.
Pros: Build quality, Cons: Bad designFavorite flannel pant ever.

These are awesome! I generally wear a size 6 and that's what I ordered, they fit great. I'm 5'8" and about 139 pounds. I think they're cute, too. Can't say enough good things about these pants. I wear them almost every day during the cold Teton winters. I wear them so much this is my second pair. They do contain a little stretch material but that's great because you can move in them. I wear them while bouldering, splitting wood, and walking the dogs when it's 15*F or above and just hanging out. Prana pants were meant for climbing, bouldering, etc., so don't expect them to fit or be as stiff as a Carhartt or Mountain Khakis. They're not intended for that purpose.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuegreat jeans; sizing is off

These are great fitting jeans, comfy and warm, and built with Prana's excellent quality. Also has a bit of spandex for easy movement. I bought both the dark wash and the grey. But watch out! The grey seems to run large. I own the dark wash in size 8, and the grey in size 6, and they fit EXACTLY the same! I normally wear a size 8 in Prana pants (5'6", 135 lbs, 29" waist, 37.5" hips, avg build). I would recommend ordering several sizes to find the right fit. They are definitely a relaxed jean, so if you prefer a slimmer fit, size down.
