Stretch Zion Pants Sizing
May 11, 2012

I've read alot of positive reviews about these pants. And from my research, they appear to be the most durable and comfortable hot weather pants I could find. The thing is, they run a bit big. I am a tad lanky though. 5'11" 130 lbs. I usually take a 30 inch inseam, and these pants are no exception. The 30 inch inseam is perfect. However, the waist on the medium is HUGE. I had the draw strap cinched all the way, and I can still fit an arm in between me and the pants waist. With a belt on, the pants sag a bit in the front. So now I'm getting the small in a 30" inseam.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Super Comfortable Pants!
May 11, 2012

This is my first pair of Prana pants but it definitely won't be my last. Just wore them on a short hike and was amazed how cool and comfortable they were. The stretch fabric is great. The fit is true to size. The pants also look nice enough to wear to work with polo or button down shirt.

These pants are great. I'm 6'4" 195 lbs and the large 34" inseam fit perfectly with no bagginess through the crotch. These dry very quickly after getting wet and breathe well enough to be comfortable in warm weather. I use them for a variety of outdoor activities as well as my go-to travel pants. They have held up through many wash cycles with only a couple of loose threads. I ended up getting two pairs but I still wish they were less expensive.

New Favorite Pants
May 05, 2012

I really love these pants. I've worn them on camping and backpacking trips. They have taken a bit of a beating at times, but show no signs of wear. The fit is pretty athletic, not baggy at all, but the stretch affords you full range of motion. They are not cheap, but it appears they will hold up well enough to be more than worth it.

Quality and Comfort
May 04, 2012

I purchased these pants and I liked them so much that I bought another pair. I mainly use them for everyday use. I wear them to work every day. The material they are constructed from is lightweight and very breathable. The vents in the crotch are excellent. I also really like how the side pocket has two zippers. This feature makes it easy to access the contents while you are sitting down. You don't have to worry about losing your stuff if you put it in this dual-zippered pocket. My only criticism is that after wearing the pants for about 9 months (5 days a week) I have noticed that they have becomes stiffer and less comfortable than they initially were. The color also seems to have faded a bit. I imagine that this is probably a combination of my frequent washing schedule (about one per week) as well as the fact that I do maintenance and construction work.

Pros: Great design, Performance, Great value
Cons: Wears quickly

good pants
March 17, 2012

i had purchased these in an effort to reduce the amount of space that my jeans and cargo pants are taking up. Three of these would probably have less weight than a pair of jeans. I had always wanted some pants that are lightweight for the summer months, and had to resort to swoosh pants which I hate because of the swooshy noise they make. Thankfully these do not swoosh, and offer warmth for the cool nights. I might utelize the button-up at the pant legs when I go bike riding so thats nice. The cargo pocket also seems useful.

I LOVE THESE PANTS
February 10, 2012

I bought a pair of arterxy ramparts and hated them. So I was lucky as heck to find a prana store in Boulder that I could try on the pranas and I loved them instantly. They fit better than the arcteryx, have better material and look better. I sent back the ramparts and have bought 4 pairs of the zions and thats all i ever wear. I dont even wear jeans anymore. I just wish they had more colors and I would buy them all. Navy blue...hint hint....buy these pants they are comfy, make my butt look great and I am wearing them right now.

I own 3 shorts and just bought the pants for cooler weather. They are without equal in terms of comfort, durability and fit. Light, breathable flexible and immediately satisfying. I'm a 33 waist and the medium is fine. 32 Inseam is good for 6 footers and above. Buy a pair and you won't wear anything else.

January 07, 2012

I was pleased with the fit ... the waist is true while leg seems a bit large thru thigh. Very comfortable fabric that washes nicely and the stretch fabric is very comfortable for activity. We are on our way to Nicaragua ... I plan to buy another pair before we leave.

Everyday Everywhere Pants
January 04, 2012

I bought these pants to have a lightweight summer hiking and climbing option, but I probably wear them more than any other pants that I own. They breathe well and stretch for excellent comfort while still looking neat enough to pass as business casual at work. The roll-up feature works reasonably well (much better than no snaps at all), and they also dry quickly. My rock climbing coworker has started wearing them to work as well on my recommendation.

Hiking pants
December 27, 2011

Bought the pants to hike though Europe. Held up well and fit well. Bought a medium with 34" inseam and they fit great. I am a 32"x34". The plants were a hair long without boots on but were perfect with boots.

These are my favorite pants for the gym!!!
November 15, 2011

I am a fitness-trainer 6 days per week, and I work with my customers at many and varied locales and terrain within Los Angeles. In my profession, I much prefer wearing pants when inside gyms because I don't like the notion of my skin coming into contact with the millions of germs which reside on all gym-equipment. These pants are the best I've found for fitness, comfort and their functional intent; they can handle any exercise movement no matter how big, explosive or zen-like. Also, they're abrasion-resistant which means they are tough! I can slide, scoot or stumble over and on hard-surfaces with no damage whatsoever. I really love these pants for my work! I can't say it enough, and they look great! So, when a customer invites me to lunch in Beverly Hills or Century City, I have no worries at all that I fit right in and feel unique too. These are truly a worthy value!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, they just rock!

Versatile, genderless pants
November 11, 2011

Light weight material has an appealing hand, and the cut of the pants makes them suitable for women too. Although I bought them for hiking and expedition-type travel, they look nice enough that I am comfortable wearing them for business travel as well. The zippered leg pocket is great for a passport; a cool feature is that this pocket can be accessed by two different zippers - one at the top, and one at the inner side, which actually makes a difference depending on your configuration when you need access. I am 5’8” and 130 lbs (female) and the small is a good fit, but not perfect, as there is a bit of a waist-gap issue, but the integrated belt really makes that a minimal issue. They seem to run a bit short though; the 32” inseam does not seem like a 32, and I wish I had bought the 34” instead.

They ran a bit long for my taste. Not sure when high-end clothing makers will get that if they want it made right make it in the US. I think the flexy fabric is great for range of motion

Favorite piece of clothing
November 03, 2011

Hands down, my favorite piece of clothing. I've owned 6 pairs of Zion pants and they have only improved in the last few years. They are basically for the warmer season, but I tend to wear them year round in the Pacific Northwest, I just wear some long underwear underneath in the winter. They are extremely comfortable and with the newer stretch fabric, they are very durable and will last for years.

Great for the first day of school!
September 07, 2011

While I haven't worn these pants hiking yet, I did put them through the wringer while teaching freshmen in high school--and they came through with flying colors! The kids even complimented me, and, since I'm over 60, that's something. The pants stretch readily, making it easy to crouch down close to computer screens. The drape is great, and the built-in belt is extremely comfortable. I did originally order mediums but they were too big, but the smalls are great. I'm ordering another color ASAP.,

good pants
August 07, 2011

The Zion pants are very comfortable and good looking pants. Because the pants can stretch, it is an excellent pants for climbing. I'm wearing 30X30 and fit comfortably in size S with 30 inseam. I'm planning to purchase another pants with different color.

rather different
June 14, 2011

Truly comfortable. Pants give when squatting & crouching. Ventilate really well. Nice looking enough to wear off trail so I really get to wear these pants often. Hey - stretch pants stretching the dollar - HA, ok I'll move on.... Found the sizing to be on the large size. 99.9% of the time I'm a medium 31"-32" waste but the mediums were too big, so I ordered a small and they fit just fine, with room to spare. Well done Prana!

Great fit
March 20, 2011

I use these pants for climbing and they are excellent. I've been using this model for many years, and this pant has recently been improved in that prana now offers it in a 32 or 34 inch inseam for a much better fit.
