I really like these shorts for their comfort. The fabric is stretchy which follows your moves. It's also very lightweight. Small details like side zipper for the side cargo pocket is very nice. The size runs a bit on the large side, but there is a built-in waist belt-like adjuster which the first reason I looked at them so I don't have to wear a belt. They are also a bit long for me, but still acceptable. I machine washed and dried them, and there is very little shrinkage. These are becoming my favorite shortsbought a different color tooand they are going with me hiking the Zion next month.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Just got back from rock climbing wearing these shorts. I like the added protection because the shorts are longer than most. Was concerned that the sharp rock I was climbing around would tear up the shorts, but they did very well. The adjustable belt is nice because it runs the whole waist so you don't have that bunching in the front. They are a little pricey, but if they continue to hold up to the rugged environment I put them through without a scratch, they are worth it.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, protection, comfortable, Cons: Cost

I have 2 pairs of these shorts and they are by far my favorite shorts. They are very stretchy so they are great for climbing but I also find that they vent very well so they also are great for simply wearing around town. They do run a little longer than some other shorts, definitely cover the knee and possibly go a little below the knee.
favorite climbing short

Have tried lots of shorts for rock climbing and Prana always has the best. The Stretch Zion short is made of a great fabric that is tough, lightweight, dries fast, fits well under a harness and allows good movement. Perfect for warm days out climbing.
My favorite climbing shorts

I own three pair of these shorts and two pair of the long pant version. These are my favorite shorts to climb in after the Arcteryx Rampart shorts. They are durable and just stretchy enough. They dry quickly and they are super comfortable. I recently bought another pair in2011 (after the redesign in 2010) and the 2011 fabric seems slightly different. I'm not sure if drying them in the dryer for a year has caused it to lose some of the strech or what. The newer fabric seems slightly stretchier although the label indicates the same material content.
Love these shorts!

These shorts are the best I have ever owned. The fit and feel are excellent, and there is good attention to detail. They are stylish enough to wear downtown, but are great on the trail.Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use
Great - Except for quality control on sizing
June 12, 2009
These shorts are stellar. Slim fit, right at the knee. But not too sure about the quality control on the sizing. I already had a medium, ordered another pair but had to return them way too big. Bummer. Cost me $10 in shipping so I won't be ordering these online again.

I bought a pair of these for my husband. He loved them so much, I bought him another pair. My son thought they looked great, so he bought a pair. He loves them so much he bought this pair. They both live in these shorts. They fit well, wash up great, and dry very quickly (on the line). I wish there were a few more colors, but the ones that are offered are very nice. Could dress up or down.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Worth the price

Great shorts for hiking. Love that they're sturdy and can take a beating but are still light weight and dry quickly.
The Perfect Shorts!
July 13, 2010
The Prana Strecth Zion Short has everything I've been looking for in an activewear short: long inseam (12"), adjustable waist, an awesome array of pockets, breathable, very comfortable and durable fabric, very stain resistant. I have been wearing these for 3 years now, and the original pair I bought still looks almost new. You've got to try these!

This is my second pair of Zion shorts and man do I love them. They are true to size and are very durable. I have used them on long hikes and as daily home use. If I every wear these out I will buy them all over again.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance

I owned a pair of Prana Zion pants several years ago, so decided to give these a shot once I was in the market for some shorts. The fit is perfect - I am 190 cm tall and 85kg (6'3" and ~188lbs) - I have a 32" waist and wear a 33" usually (who wears anything on their actual waist?). I got a medium, and the fit is perfect. Length is also perfect - just to the knee. The Zion fabric is stretchy and tough - not super light, but has some ventilation down in the... down there. If these follow the life of my pants, they will stand up to 3+ years of hard hiking/climbing/travelling in everything from tropical rainforest, lava flows, deserts... after that the material does lose its stretch and gets too baggy. Pocket access is a nice balance (one on the thigh with two zippered openings, two back, one with a flap, one without, and two mesh lined hand pockets). Things that have improved since my Zion pants: cinch strap is easier to use; zipper, instead of velcro opening; belt straps. I love Prana, and my only complaint is that my love is $$.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost
Men's Stretch Zion Shorts Rock!
March 24, 2013
I have 2 pair of Men's Stretch Zion Pants and I needed a pair of shorts for warmer days on the trail and the slab. So I purchased some Men's Stretch Zion Shorts and they are not a disappointment. I received them and used them rock climbing in the gym, hiking, around town, work, and travel. The seem true to fit and the stretchy fabric is great for people who have large thighs. The DWR scotch guard finish is awesome. Water repels off and if they get saturated they dry quick. Nothing but good stuff here!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, fit, Cons: Cost

Love these shorts. wore them travelling and just around the house. Fit great, stretchy fabric makes them easy to move around in and be active without restricting any movement. Like the length of the short, too, i am 5'8" 160 and they come just below knee, style that i like. Definitely recommend.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
What I Was Looking For
April 19, 2010
These shorts were exactly what I wanted: good coverage down to my knees, durable, slim, and quick drying fabric. These are my all around shorts, vacations and on the trail.
October 16, 2013
I have three pair of these shorts and I highly recommend them. Now that I've worn them for a full year: they are durable; resist pilling; don't fade no matter how many times washed; the elastic 'give' in them ensures a better fit during exertion; and they're stylish. When more colors are made that I like I'll buy more of these shorts. PS, the cargo pocket's top zipper becomes quite handy in a number of situations.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
My Favorite Pair of Shorts
May 19, 2010
I love these shorts. Incredibly comfortable and light. The adjustable strap makes for a perfect fit.
April 26, 2011
Nice shorts, will be comfortable when the weather warms up I'm sure. Though they were a little bit longer than I was expecting. I'm roughly 5'8" and they come down past my knee. I ordered a large. Will probably be ordering more as they are comfortable and look nice.Pros: Ease of use, Cons: Cost
New Favorite Do Everything Shorts
May 07, 2012
Love these shorts. They are my new favorite shorts. I have the brown and grey and they go with everything. I just got back from a week backpacking/ climbing in the Front Range and one pair held up great. They have a great stretch to them without a clingy fit. They also sit right at the hip and can be pulled up and tightened with the belt works great with a pack or harness. They seem to have a nice straight leg fit to them so they dont have the baggy or bulky flair that some cargo type shorts have. I like the trim straight leg fit to these shorts. They also look great with some flip-lops and a t-shirt for the pub or going out. One last thing- the leg pocket is pretty cool- it can be accessed from the front/side or top via a zipper. So, its great when sitting, hanging or whatever!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance

Exellent Technical Travel Shorts
June 10, 2010
Great fit, extreemly comfortable, and very tough. The two security pockets make them great for travel. I now have three pairs, all in different colors. Won't travel without them.
