Description

The Diamond Kite is Prism's modern twist on the classic diamond kite. It's 37" tall unfurled, but folds into a pouch that's barely a foot long, perfect for backpack, briefcase, or that spur-of-the-moment getaway to the great outdoors. It's dye-sublimated with brilliant fractal-based geometric patterns onto colorfast ripstop polyester to create a spectacular piece of flying art that'll last for years. To assemble, just pull it out and let the rods spring into their connectors; the spars are connected by bungee cord just like a tent pole so there's nothing to lose and no way to assemble it backwards. Comes with a colorful 2-part matching tail, flying line and winder. Easy instructions are printed on the sleeve, flies eagerly even in light winds. Unique folding clasp keeps the kite flat for storage with a mesh pocket for your flying lines. Open the clasp like a book and kite springs instantly into shape, ready for action. Just clip on your line and toss into the air for unforgettable fun. Quick-start flying instructions are printed permanently on the inside of the clasp. Makes a great gift!

Awesome!

I remember buying paper diamond kites and flying them at the local playground. Welcome to the world of High Tech kite flying. I own 7 prism kites and they are all great. This one is a modern twist and a classic design. No offense to WalMart, but Prism makes some serious kites. Though a bit more expensive, they are well worth the investment. Give yourself a treat, by this one. You won't be disappointed.

Kites have been around thousands of years, as have cars. But this new diamond kite, constructed of Ripstop polyester, shock corded fiberglas rods and printed with vibrant fractal-based geometric patterns glows in the sky. You'll want one to fly and one to hang on the wall. It is truely that beautiful. As a 30 year stunt kite pilot, I rarely buy static line kites. This was a great choice. I hope Prism creates a couple of stunt kites with this 3D imagery!

Sturdy kite!

For the price you pay, this kite is fantastic. My son and I have been flying this on the beach in severe wind conditions and it still looks like new - even after several severe crash landings! The only negative thing that I can think of is that it is difficult to put the kite back into it's case.

Perfect for travel

This slipped into my suitcase so easily and gave me the best couple hours I've had in months, flying it by the ocean on a west coast vacation. It unpacks easily and was uncomplicated to assemble. It was sturdy against high-tide winds by the ocean; I was impressed. The only minor negative is that after a few hours' flying, the tail seems really beat-up and frayed, like ribbon that's gotten beaten up. But I guess that's basically what it is--and you only notice it up-close, not when it's in the sky, so it's hardly a complaint. I'm buying these kites for several friends now--it was just such a great purchase!

Pros: lightweight, easy to assemble, great for beginners
