Red by Burton Hi-Fi Helmet (Fall 07)

For those who place weight at a premium when choosing to purchase a helmet, the ultralight R.E.D. Hi-Fi Helmet is worthy of serious consideration. At only 13.8 oz. in size medium, it's R.E.D.'s lightest ski and snowboarding helmet. Some of the features found on other R.E.D. models have been stripped away, suggesting that the helmet may lack comfort. But this is far from the truth. The R.E.D. Hi-Fi Helmet is incredibly light, a comfort feature in its own right. And the interior lining provides just enough padding to make the wearer forget they're actually wearing a helmet. Comfortable and light.
I have a round head, and this one fits me the best. I was amaze how light it is. This helmet fit perfectly with my Dragon DX (05/06 version), but isn't compatible with my Anon Halcyon, too many gaps.

Great helmet, very comfortable and serves its purpose. only had a few miner crashes but it has held up to the test. Highly recommend the helmet it looks great, light weight, and provides good protection.

Burton never fails to please!
This helmet is so light and comfortable. Burton's design team really pays alot of attention to detail before their products go into production. plush padding for your head neck and ears. The vents are screened over to keep the snow out. soft padding over the chin strap and the connector was designed for gloved hands. My Spy Orbits fit perfectly but Burton has included a goggle gasket to protect your forehead from the cold if you have smaller goggles. Overall the helmet looks so good, I look foward to wearing. Burton always exceeds my expectations.

Great helmet
This is a great helmet and i got it at a great price. Its like wearing a hat. After about 5 minutes, you forget youre wearing a helmet! Its that light and that comfortable!! Get yours Quick its a great helmet and really worth the money!

Great helmet
I just got this helmet and tried it out a few times this year. It's really light and is the most comfortable one that i've tried. The only thing i guess is that it gets scratched easily.

helmet worked out great
helmet is superlight. I also got headphones seperate for the helmet and the fit perfectly. i love it and i think its a great thing to buy if your concious about hitting your head like i was!

Love it!
On the way to the mountain, I often use my helmet to carry my gloves, etc. This helmet, with my gloves and goggles in it, still weighs half as much as my old one. Unfortunately, I have crash-tested it as well. My brain is still intact, and so is the helmet - without a scratch! This is the most comfortable thing I could put on my head. I'm shopping for one for my boyfriend now...

burton hi-fi helmet
This helmet is the best. Its so light you barrely feel it on your head. The vents are also located in the back of the helmet so wind dosent get in the front. This allows you so stay warm and not get to hot. The strap is also a cool feature. I would tell everybody to get this helmet because its the bomb. And it looks cool.

Great fit, warm, comfortable for New England skiing
I bought the HiFi to replace my daughter's outdated helmet. Since that purchase I've bought one for her boyfriend (HIFI Audio) and one for my wife. Luckily the boyfriend paid me back.

Perfect Helmet for Boarding
No cracks, helmet is as light as can be. Feels like you are wearing a hat on your head not a helmet. It keeps your head warm but not too hot.

Outstanding helment!
I shopped around and tried many helments. The RED Hi-Fi helment provides a broad field of vision, is light weight and has a very nice fit....plus if you want you can easily add audio. Fortunately I have not had the pleasure of putting it through a crash test yet but it's better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Nice and Light!
I bought this helmet at the beginning of this years (06/07) season, i was amazed with the weight factor. I also like the compatability with the AUDEX Pads. I may invest in a pair in the future. Goggle-wise it works real great with the Oakley O-Frames XS without the helmet kit. When i got the A-Frames however the fit was not quite as good but was still great. Overall, very light and comfortable/goggle compatible.

A soft measuring tape is an excellent tool to determine the correct circumference of the user's head in centimeters and get a rough idea of what helmet size will fit them best. If you do not have a soft tape, use string. Do not use a metal tape as it will not give an accurate measurement.

1.) Have the user stand facing you while looking straight ahead. (Tip: when fitting small children it is helpful to kneel in front of them so you are at eye level.)

2.) Using both hands, hold the measuring tape at each end with the marks facing away from you.

3.) Place the fit tape behind the user's head just above the ears.

4.) Wrap the side in your right hand around to the front of their forehead so the end of the tape is centered between (and just above) the eyebrows.

5.) Wrap the side in your left hand around (just above the ears and brow) to overlap the end of the tape with a snug fit. Read the measurement at the end of the tape to determine circumference measurement.

6.) Remove measuring tape and record the measurement. This number can be used to narrow the helmet size selection using the helmet-sizing chart above.
