Royal Robbins Zip N Go Pants
I am an avid SoCal hiker and golfer. These pants are great for playing golf when desert mornings are cool. By 9 am you can zip off the legs and you're playing golf in shorts. The articulated legs allow removal w/o taking off golf shoes. Same goes for hiking and if you are in an area with cholla cactus, yucca and desert scrub, the pants protect your legs from cuts and scrapes.

Comfortable Zip Off Pants
These pants are very comfortable and made of a particulary nice fabric that is softer than some other brands.
This model is great for those that want a shorter length when converted into shorts. Probably not recommended for most people over 5"10 as they will probably be too short as shorts.
I like the built in web belt, but would also prefer an option to use a different belt too.
The zippers work nicely when putting the bottom of the legs back on. I have had to fight with some other brands.

Very Nice
The waist runs small. Normally wear a medium. Ordered a large and fit is perfect. Inseam is true to size. Quality is good. The short inseam is perfect. One potential drawback for some wearers is the belt is sewn into the waist. All in all I recommend these highly and would buy again.

Great Zip N' Go Pant
Purchased the L, short - perfect fit for my husband who is 5'10", 170 pounds. When zipped off, the short falls above the knee comfortably where other brands are too long. Highly recommended.

Nothing new, but still great!
I bought these from a local outfitter for a rainy weekend trip to the Piney Woods of East Texas. They dried quickly and provided ample storage for quick food and hiking supplies. I zipped the legs off for sleeping and quickly zipped them on again in the morning. Out of the rain they dried in just a few minutes' time. Downsides: the velcro leg cuffs come undone if your legs tend to scrape when you hike. Snaps or zippers would be better. That's it.
