Fit for dog on the go
Cleo loves her new fleece jacket; at 27 lbs w/a 22 inch girth the XS fits her perfectly; not too tight but snug. I chose a small the first time around but it was too large for her compact athletic build both in girth and length. They are definitely designed for lean athletic dogs; if your dog measures in between sizes I would size down for lean athletic dogs and up for breeds with round bodies. Altrec made the exchange very easy and accomodating. The quality in detail is great and it's easy to get on and off. I can fit a backpack or harness over it without having to size up...bonus! I haven't put the durability to test yet but she no longer shivers out in the 18 degree temperatures around town and out in the yard.

Great jacket for cool weather
We ordered an extra small jacket for our 20lb beagle. It fits great and has been keeping him warm in the cool fall weather! The jacket has a nice soft feel and stays in place much better than other jackets that we tried. Highly recommended.

Great Three Season jacket
This jacket is great for an active dog. There is room for freedom of movement and it is not too heavy so hiking and running in it is possible in cold weather. It keeps a dog warm but breathes well. One does have to be careful with a deep chested dog as you might want to size up. My Dobe has been wearing this style since he was a pup so we have had every size avaialble. We love it. Wish it had some reflective material somewhere. And would love to see it in red!

Rosemary is a dachshund. She is long and small. She is very warm in her new jacket. The small was a little baggy and the x-small is pretty tight, but the material is great! She was surprised that we spent so much, but is very grateful.

Keeping My Chihuahua Warm
I have a 5 1/2 pound chihuahua. We've been having temperatures as low as single digit. I was having to put 3 - 4 layers on to take her out.
It's easy to put on - and that is a huge deal. The color is nice and bright and easy to see in the evening.
I purchased the smallest size and it is very good fit. It could probably fit a dog slightly larger, but it works. There is enough room if she has a light fleece on in the house, it fits over it easily. I don't need to use it all through the day, because we have a lot of sunshine during the day, but in the mornings and evenings it is great. She has never appeared cold in it.
I am only sorry that this is the smallest size available, because it is way too big for my 3 1/2 pound chihuahua.

Nice Fleece
The fleece material is very soft, light, and warm. Easy to put on and even easier to take off my dog. Jacket (xs) fit my miniature schnauzer like a charm. My only complaint is that the zipper could've been of higher quality.

Bought for a labrador retriever (60 lbs). I first bought a medium which was too big so bought a small. The small was a bit small but works. An inbetween size would be best. Over all very satisifed with the product - just a bit pricy.

I finally found it!!!!
Was looking for a coat/sweater for my 11 year-old Shar-pei for a very long time. At last, a coat that covers her belly and chest, zips up easily and best of all....she likes it!!!! Everyone that sees it wants to know where I got it. We love it!!!

This is a great product. Haven't gone out on the trail yet so I can't vouch for the durability yet. Keeps my pup warm and happy. The quality of the fleece is great.

Excellent active dog fleece
I bought this for my 11.5yr old Bluetick Coon hound. We are very active and have been known to go hiking/camping in the mountains even during winter. He is comfortable wearing the fleece in the house and out on the trail. He is about 65lbs and is unusually long with a deep chest for a hound. The medium fits him well.

Nice cool weather coat
I have a 90lb boxer who loves to be outside. This coat keeps him nice and toasty. I purchased a large and it fits snuggly, but stretches out at bit from wear. Overall very happy.

My dog loves it
This is the second Climate Changer fleece that I have bought. Bought one last year for my other dog. Both dogs are Beagles and need protection from the cold. The size down is too small and this size is just a little big but has a much better fit. They can run full speed with their jackets on.
The fleece keeps them very warm and protected from the snow. I especially like that it covers their chest and front legs. It is also long enough to cover their lower back.
The zipper for the most part is easy to use. I bit challenging with cold hands!!

good sizing, nice color selection
My dog hates this jacket. He hates all jackets. They are demeaning and insulting to his dog nature. However, the size small fits him well (he is a PBGV weighing 29 lbs), and he looks very cute in it. It is difficult to find dog jackets that cover the underside of your dog, which is key when your dog is short and his belly and chest pick up a lot of dirt. I was happy to find this one, after much looking.
It won't be good for winter days when the road is wet, salty, sandy, etc. I do not think it will be super-warm in the winter but overall I am happy with it.
I got this jacket as a replacement for the no-longer-made but excellent Columbia dog parka. That was fleece with a waterproof soft-shell exterior, which was perfect.

Great Little Coat
We have two little, male and female, non-related terrier mixes. Both are about 8 lbs., 15 in girth, and 12 in from neck to tail. Our female has some issues... car chaser and leash aggression... so we have been intending to get the Webmaster harness for better control; however, the current jackets that they have would not work with that kind of harness, so we purchased two of the Climate Changer jackets in XXS, Lichen green.
The jackets fit perfectly and are easy to put on and take off. Their snug fit will be perfect under the harness (which we don't have yet). The tab of fleece under the zipper is very helpful for not catching their fur while you zip it up. And there is plenty of room for the little male, if you know what I mean.
All in all, very happy... so much so that our daughter and son-in-law will be getting Climate Changers for their very large dogs to go under their harnesses, as well.
My only complaint is that Ruff Wear charges the same price whether you by an XXS or XL. In all honesty, We probably would not have purchased two of them had we not been able to get them in the outlet.

perfect for my dog
This jacket fits my dog beautifully. She is medium size (40 lbs.) and muscular with a large chest and the medium size fit great. The weight of this jacket worked well for temperatures to 20F, but she did some shivering in this jacket when the temps dropped below 20F. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Keeps my dog warm
I bought this for our Lab mix. He's around 60lbs and the medium fit him perfectly. He doesn't mind wearing it and the jacket looks great on him! Our other dog has one of these too, so now they match. :-)

Nice Jacket
I bought this jacket for our 3 year old boxer in both large and medium. I'm keeping the large. He's 25 or 26 inches at the shoulder, weighs about 70 or so pounds, with a girth of 31 1/2 inches and his back is about 22" long. I couldn't zip the medium. The large is a bit snug from the neck to the arm. This may not be the case for dogs that are not as deep chested as boxers. Like some of the other reviews noted, I too found that it rubs his fur off at the top of his arm when he is very active. I'm going to fix it because I'm very happy over all. He seems very comfortable in this jacket and that wasn't the case with others I've tried. We are in northern Ohio and I put this jacket on when we run errands and he waits in the car. As for warmth, I still avoid very cold or windy days. I like it for days above about 25 because the wind and cold can penetrate it. I especially like the coverage of his chest and underside and that he can still do his business without getting his jacket dirty. I wish they made a warmer version.

Climate changer
Great service at Altrec as usual. Dog jacket is excellent quality. Just my dog is between sizes, might have to return for the next size up. I plan to get another jacket from you guys as well.

Peace of mind for dog in the cold!
I was worried moving from sunny California to snowy Illinois that my short-haired dog was going to freeze!! I don't feel I need to worry with this fleece jacket he now has. Sizing chart was true and fit him with no problem. He has no issue with putting jacket on. I am very happy with this product!

great jacket
I would highly recommend this jacket. I bought it for my great dane and it works great. She is able to run around without difficulty and it doesn't seem to bother her. Fit is great, easy to use, durable, and keeps her warm. Definitity worth the cost.

Best K-9 Fleece
This is a great fleece for your K-9 companion. The material rivals/surpasses any fleece in this price category. All of the items I have from Ruff Wear are of the utmost quality and durability. After a romp through the mud (is there anywhere in the NW not muddy or snowy in December?), the fleece washed clean with little, if any evidence of wear. I’m talking mud full of red clay and wetland muck. I was amazed at how “new” the fleece still appears.
I got the medium for my 65 pound Doberman female. It is a smidge tight against her front legs, after wrapping her barrel chest, but the material has a great amount of elasticity and she appears comfortable and stays toasty inside. The side zipper makes for getting the fleece on and off easily. The cut of the fleece is definitely athletic, with ample room for a broad chest and smaller opening for the abdomen. The coverage is outstanding covering the entire back and still leaving ample room for bathroom plumbing.
There is no need to second guess the extra money for Ruff Wear products. For the quality they are fairly priced. I have looked in many pet stores and have yet to see a fleece made for a dog that is even a close second to Ruff Wear’s Climate Changer Fleece Jacket.

Awesome fleece
This fleece is perfect for my daughters dog who has a very thin coat. It's easy to put on and he will wear it all day. It washes well and seems very durable.

Stitching needs improvement
Fall is here, and our two German Shorthair Pointers are starting to feel the cold settle in. The boys are ambitious hunters and two of the most eager running partners I have found yet. We live in Pennsylvania, so our boys are greatly benefited by anything that helps keep them warm during the fall/winter months being that they're always outside. We recently purchased two of the Climate Changer Fleece Jackets from Altrec about three weeks ago. I received those in about 6 days (two weeks ago) and the dogs have practically lived in them over the past week. My dogs weigh 57 and 61 pounds, with a girth of 30 1/2 and 31 inches; respectively. The medium covers sizes up to 32 inch girth, which is what we purchased for the Climate Changer Fleece, and both fit perfectly. There is a slight looseness towards the back of the Fleece Jacket, but very nice fit overall. However, after two full days of wearing the fleece (bought one in Lichen Green and one in Obsidian Black) I noticed an inch size tear in the side along the ribcage stitching of the green. It hadn't been unthreaded or ripped, it just seemed as though the material had never really been connected to the stitching. Now, after a week of wear, the black fleece stitching is coming undone on the top (spinal) area. So, my husband and I have decided to just sew up the fleece that has the inch gap and keep our fingers crossed that the other stitching coming undone is of no harm to the quality fleece/coat itself. I guess some persons would want to return or exchange in this case, but I would rather break out the sewing machine than risk having a cold dog while I wait to have a new one shipped in place of the old. We are also going to move forward and order the Cloud Chaser and Polar Trex Boots from Altrec.
Overall, the boys love the new gear and neither shivers anymore. The clothing goes on easily, looks great, and has nice reflective stripping along the length of the back. I do wish I had ordered two Lichen Green so the hair wouldn't show like it does on the black. This is a lengthy review, but I hope it helps. Our family has found a wonderful product to help our boys through the winter. I wish there were more colors to choose from because we would probably own several more. It would also be nice to see a snap button at the very end to keep the zipper from seperating when the dogs lie down or play. It's not an issue, just a tad comes unzipped.
Also, a huge thanks to Altrec for their speedy service -it cooled down quick!

Superior quality item for short haired dogs
I have an older short haired dog and live in a ski town. I have struggled for years to find a jacket/fleece that she will wear without feeling constricted in movement.
Finding a thicker, warm jacket that covers the joints is also a challenge.
This jacket exceeds in both these areas. Ease of movement, full coverage, EASY to put on a stubborn old dog that has limited range of motion.
Although the cost of this item is a bit higher than other brands of dog jackets, it is worth every penny!

Ruff Wear Rocks
We have 2 Springer Spaniels and we like to keep their coats cut short...keeps the burrs off in the field. They are 45 lbs and the small fits them perfect. They have really well built Ruff Wear boots for hiking the Sierra's and the coats are also great quality. Seams are reinforced, very sturdy zipper and 200 weight fleece that keeps them very warm. Highly recommend!

Looks so cute! Very high quality material, workmanship and durability. Love the extra flap to guard against getting hair caught in the zipper. A little pricy but worth every penny as it's the best product I've every come across.

Great product!
I bought this for my 6 lb. maltipoo and the xxsmall fits her perfectly. It zips well and the length goes all the way to her tail. I got this to keep her from getting snow clumps attached to her belly and chest when going outside in the winter.

Could be better if it's waterproof
Being a long-time Ruffwear user, my Jack Russell Terrier has a lot of their clothings, including the rain coat with fleece lining, the cloud chaser, and regular rain coat, just to name a few. I think this new one is even better, although it does not necessarily protect my dog for extended period of time due to snow or rain that will eventually wet the jacket. It will no doubt keep him warm for some time, that's for sure.

great jacket/good fit
Bought for our pit mix because she does not like the cold. It fits her well and she looks styling in it. Snug fit also works with harness over it. Bit of a problem with static but a little spray of a static guard when taken off does the job for the next time out. Buying another for my grandog chihuahua.

Ruff Wear- best dog gear out there
I have the pack, water bowl, cloud chaser, & now climate chaser. I bought the medium for my 55 pound female boxer and it fits her well. Excellent zipper design, thick, soft fleece, cool green color. We'll have this one for years.

Great!
I recently ordered the fleece jacket, size medium, for my 75 pound boxer by following the sizing chart directions. Few inches too small around his chest so I had to return it. As a side note, the quality and workmanship were excellent and my Boxer seemed to love it when I put it on him. He told me the color matched his eyes (lichen green!). We're hoping for a great fit with the larger size!

Beautifully designed
I bought a size medium for my 55lb bullterrier who is 29" girth and 23" from neck to tail. The coat is 25" long on the top and 19" long on the stomach. It fits him beautifully but it is definitely the max length. For some reason the photo and description neglects to tell you there is a zipper that makes the coat really easy to get on. The zipper is covered inside so it isn't cold against your dog. The coat is very aerodynamic tapering at the tail like a bike helmet. I live in a very cold climate and bought it for my dog to sleep in and go outside in freezing weather. My dog seems to really like this coat because he agrees to go for walks now.
