Looks legit
So I ordered a size or two too small :( I'd be sure to certainly measure the girth correctly and keep in mind you have to slip it over the dogs head as well. I am going to switch this one out with a larger size and I believe it will work just fine. There is not as much coverage over the belly by any means so it's not going to do much for much snow accumulation ( if using a fleece underneath). Otherwise, the rain drop protection appears adequate. I'd also note the hood is flimsy and some altering on your part could make it much more workable for your pup to appreciate.

Sun Shower rain jacket is great.
This jacket must have arrived within two days of placing the order and shipping was free - hard to beat. I engaged in a live chat to help me order the proper size and I am glad that I took that time.
The jacket is a really good fit, stops at the base of my dog's tail. I love the fact that the hat /hood is not restrictive but I have yet to try it out to see if the leash opening is in the appropriate place.
The fabric looks effective for rainy weather. It has a vinyl coating so there is no warmth added, which may be a disadvantage, but that remains to be seen. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase The jacket has the quality of workmanship that will last a long time and I will certainly be happy to show this off to fellow dog walkers.

Waterproof but not lined Rain Jacket for Dogs
i knew this was not lined when I got it. Had no choice. I love that this has a detachable hood. What I loved and use to order was the K9 Overcoat which was better in that it had a fleece lining but the downside was no detachable hood. Now if you guys at Altrec can find one that combined the SUPERIOR waterproofing/fleece lined/reflective K9 coat which you don't offer/sell anymore with the option of the fleece being removable and having the zippered removable hoodie of this coat, you'd have a GREAT product to use year round. I hope someone actually reads these things. This will be great in cooler rainy weather coupled with a sweater under it and perfect for summer. So I guess I did a workaround for this winter. I will most likely buy more.

Verdict not in yet
Overall: we'll see.
Here's why: After 3 wears discovered seam partly unraveled (at belly protector piece joint to neck). So I secured it with needle & thread...Close look at opposite seam indicated it was not reinforced. If it holds I'll be a very happy customer.
The large jacket fits my 80 pound, "Heinz 57" (mutt), body type most similar to shepherd/greyhound ,length 33", girth 35 1/2 ", great. And it is easy to put on him. It keeps him dry. The hood wont work since my dog walks ahead of me, and therefore the leash would pull the hood off! I don't think my dog would wear it anyway. Again, if seams hold (time will tell) I would recommend with 5 stars!

Sun Shower
Bought the sun shower for my springer spaniel and it fits great. the size chart says she needed a small but I decided to go with the medium so the hood covers her head. A little loose in the chest but the length is perfect.

Good quality item
I got this product for my dog, and even though it runs a little bit large in the belly area, the quality overall is pretty good. When I walk my puppy, some people aske me about the rain jacket and where did I buy it...

Practical and stylish purchase!
I have a 50 pound pit bull/boxer mix, and she fits really well into the medium. The hood is great, the jacket keeps her dry during rainstorms. It's also really easy to put on, which is nice. Highly recommend it!

Surprised By the Quality
We adopted an older shelter dog and want her to have a bit of protection on our walks. Living in the Pacific Northwest means lots of rainy days. The Sun Shower Rain Jacket works great for our lady. I ordered size M which did fit her girth but returned it for the L size which fits her length better. I thought the little hood would bug her but she doesn't seem to be bothered by it and I have to say she looks pretty cute with her red coat on. The jacket goes on easily and the buckles are simple to adjust. This is the first dog garment (except for a day pack) I have ever bought for my dogs and I am surprisingly pleased by the quality of the product.

Great Purchase
I bought this raincoat for my dog because if the rain is coming down in any more than a light sprinkle, she will refuse to go outside. I am really pleased with the way this coat fits her. She is just under 60 lbs and has a deep chest. The medium size fits her perfectly and I like that there is elastic connected to the clips, which allows for a snug fit, but it is not too tight. The part of the coat that goes under her chest and abdomen keeps her from getting too muddy/wet on her underside. This raincoat is easy to put on and take off and it dries quickly. I got it in the green and it's very cute on her. This coat cost a little more than I wanted to spend but it seems like it is made well. We have only used it a couple of times but it seems durable and I think we will get plenty of use out of it. Most importantly, when she has the coat on she has no problem going for a walk in the rain to handle her business.

This coat is extremely well made - a real coat not a plastic costume. I do wish there were a few more size options, the S is a little small and the M is too big for my boy. But you'll have to see what works for you.

Excellent quality rain jacket. The construction is top-notch. If fits my dog very well. We have a 60lb very furry dog and the size Large fits him perfectly. Would recommend.

Quality Rain Jacket
I purchased this rain jacket for my miniature dachshund because he despises the rain. However, with this jacket on, he no longer dreads going out in the inclement weather. The sun shower jacket is extremely durable and easy to put on and one of the best I've found. I highly recommend this product to everyone who has a canine.

My Corgis love them
I purchased two small-sized Sun Showers for my corgis and they love them. The quality on these things is equal to what you'd purchase for a waterproof shell for yourself. Taped seams, durable materials... I'm honestly stunned at how nice they are.
Also, Altrec shipped same day, and I received them the next day to my surprise! They shipped out of the same state I live in so that was a really cool bonus.
I feel like they don't NEED to cost as much as they do regular price. I got them on sale and I think the sale price is a good price point.

double check size
Great rain jacket! And probably the best that I've found so far anywhere. Important to double check your dog's measurements and make sure that you buy the correct size. I would buy one size up if your dog falls right on an "in-between" size. The only downfall to this jacket is that the neck area is not adjustable. You will have to slip it over the dog's head to put on the jacket and to remove it.

Best Raincoat I have found
The quality and construction of this coat is the best I seen, and I have done a lot of searching for the perfect raincoat. My only problem is the medium was a little short in length for my 55lb pitbull, it did not go all the way to the base of the tail.

Great design but...
Just received the Red Currant Sun shower jacket for my 1 year old Golden. Love the look and ease of use but the jacket is cut too short. Need to send back for the next size up!

I purchased the green rain jacket and love it! The color is great, fits well around him. The only negative is that it is a few inches short so that not all of his back is covered. He is not too fond of the hood so I am glad it can easily be be removed!

Cute & Functional
I was looking for a cute raincoat that covers my dog's stomach well since that side tends to get muddier on a rainy day. This coat is perfect and the adjustable straps allow you to adjust the fit.

Dog Gone Dry
My Aussie didn't take anytime to get use to wearing this product. I have put a backpack on him before, so I am sure this helped.
He is on the boarder line girth size of medium to large and weights 50 pounds. I purchased the large and found it to work well. It is a tad long from neck to tail base. This has not been a problem. A plus is by purchasing the large raincoat it will now fit over the backpack as well as the dog keeping both dry.
The quick release clips on the belly band are an asset and stay dry because of the way they attach to the raincoat. I also appreciate the detachable hood feature.

excellent product for rainwear
The size L fit was perfect for our 69# mixed breed border collie/lab mix, whose girth was a few inches over the M size guidelines. The neon green color is highly visable, and the loose fit doesnt restrict movement on the dog or make it difficult to put on her. The material is durable and light and the hood turned back a little afforded her ears some exposure and yet still kept the rain from soaking in around her collar area. I like the chest protection as well to minimize mud splashes while walking.
I appreciated the online agent's advice on sizing prior to ordering.

A must have if you rather not dry your dog
My border collie puppy goes out rain or shine. Although she likes to get wet, drying her is not my favorite thing.
This rain jacket looks good on her, she looks like an active working dog, and not a spoiled one. (Not that she is not spoiled) It keeps her chest and belly dry, no matter how many puddles she jumps into.
I don't like the hood because she has long standing ears, but the hood can be removed. And will fit dogs with round faces or hanging ears.
It is long enough to cover her neck to tail, but it runs up with movement so you will have to pull it back every now and then.
All and all, the materials are great, the look is cool and the fit is better than with other raincoats I've tried.

Quality product!
Sun Shower rain jacket is REALLY well made. The material it is made of is equal to a high quality outdoor rain coat that I have. The cut of the jacket fits very comfortably yet securely on my pup and can easily be adjusted as he grows. I like how easy and quickly it slips on. I really like the reflective line that goes all the way around. Love the fern green color (adds great visibility). I am a little bummed that my dog fits the XS perfectly now but will out grow of it in two months and the next size up is WAY too big (even when he is full grown). But if your dog fits one of the sizes it is totally worth it! Would also be a great product for dogs that need a little wind protection on those bone chilling windy days. It is the highest quality rain coat I have ever seen for a pup. I love the look of it, really well designed, functional, made of great material, and most importantly COMFORTABLE!

Ruffwear knows how to design dog products
This is my 2nd Ruff Wear item. The first was the Grip-Tex boots and now the raincoat. They provide the measurements to it helps to order correctly and they describe clearly the product being provided via their labeling and they live up to a great standard.

LOVE IT!
I have purchased ruffwear before and am a big fan. The first jacket I bought for my dog was to keep her old bones warm in very cold Chicago winters. On very cold days when she normally would want to head back inside the ruffwear kept her warm and dry enough to stay out and play with the younger pups. We have recently moved to San Francisco and now cold isn't an issue, it's rain. She loves to swim when it rains but will not walk in it anymore. I pulled out her Chicago ruffwear and though it kept her dry, it was too warm. I found the rain jacket on line. With normal shipping it arrived in just a couple of days. Durable and light, it is perfect for a still active, though older, golden lab that runs hot most of the time. And it's definitely water-proof. She comes in from a down-pour perfectly dry. And even better, she now wants to go out even if it's raining! One of the best things I like about ruffwear (in addition to it does what it's supposed to) is that it doesn't look like I'm dressing her up. Most of what is available looks just plain stupid, like it's a fashion show or Halloween. Ruffwear is actually "gear". For people like us that sail, snorkel, ski, and hike we appreciate appropriate and well made gear. Ruffwear is just practical, good looking, durable "gear". Like the kind of gear we would buy for ourselves, it's perfect!

We quite often get stopped and asked where we got our dog's stylish jacket from. Our black lab looks terrific in her rain jacket. Perfect!
I love this rain jacket! I bought this for my Elkie who hates me putting anything on over her head. This goes on easy and fast. No struggling to get it over her head, and she seems to like it as she 'struts' out in the rain! This keeps her nice and dry too! Love the design and plan on getting another for her in a different color.

LOVE IT
I LOVE this jacket. Previously we had ordered the Ruff Wear winter coat (great for active dogs) and we were so pleased with that product we decided to try these lightweight raincoats. They are very well made, this is a high quality product. Ruff Wear makes durable, good-for-active-dogs clothing, not froo-froo clothing that you have to be overly gentle with. We bought one for our 6.5lb Chi (XXS was just right) and the XL for our 87lb. Doberman (a tiny bit big but just fine, and in the winter rain we'll have him wear a fleece underneath). This is an excellent product for the price- Ruff Wear products are built to last. I love that this raincoat has a CHEST PIECE since so much water and grime ends up there when walking in the rain, and this protects against that.

Great raincoat!
Great raincoat for Spring and warmer weather. Purchased a medium and a large based on our experience with the Ruff Wear K-9 Overcoats, and the lengths and girths are perfect fits for our dogs. Our smaller dog has a somewhat thick neck so the head and neck opening on the medium coat seems a bit snug - wish they were adjustable with snaps.

Good quality- sizing is an issue.
We received the rain jacket and tried it on our dog. The quality of the workmanship and materials looks great. Our only issue was getting the right size. The instructions say to measure the girth of the dog at the widest point- around the chest. Nothing is taken into account for the length of the dog. That was our problem. We wound up having to go to the next larger size because our Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix is a little longer than average and the coat, with the correct chest zize, was too short. The correct length resulted in the chest straps just barely being tight enough to hold the coat in place.

Perfect jacket for my Lab
The sizing chart runs a little small/short. I first ordered a Med based on the chart and had to return it for Large for 65 lb Lab, which fits perfect.
