Just purchased this track safety jacket for our 65lb black lab. I ordered the large based on other reviews and it fit perfectly. Not sure how larger dogs like a saint bernard or even a larger lab would be able to wear this jacket given that the large fit our medium size dog. The color, blaze orange, is bright and the material is very durable. Our pup was rolling and swimming through the swamp and the color remained bright and bold throughout. The straps have some padding on the jacket to prevent chaff and from what I can tell, he doesn't seem to mind wearing the jacket while hiking. Easy to dry, made of nice breathable material with a place to attach a safety light on top. Thanks Ruffwear!

Great for morning runs!!!!
I run my black Lab mix around 4:00 am, and even with dog lights on she is still hard to see. Worried about cold mornings and cars, I purchased the Track Safety Jacket and couldn't be happier. She is small (for a lab mix )around 67 pounds and the large fits great. Cars had even stopped to tell me the jacket is great. Thank you!!!!

great coat
I bought this for my 90 lb lab/pointer mix so it would be easy to spot him in the woods. The quality is great and it looks great. It's nice and bright and fits my dog well. He doesn't mind it and runs with no problems.

Great Safety Jacket
They fit great and offer a safety jacket that is very easy to put on. My dogs love to put them on. They provide great visibility out in the woods. I would highly recommend!

Have 2--needed another expanded dog family
Four or five years ago I bought these jackets for our 2 hunting Golden Retrievers. The dogs are small Goldens (about 50 pounds)--and the medium jacket fits them perfectly. We use the jackets every hunting season and I wash them often (the dogs like to roll in stuff that is really stinky). They have held up very well.
I had to buy another jacket, not because the old ones wore out, but because we are now a 3 dog family. There are 3 improvements to the vest that I really like:
1. The chest strap has a little piece of elastic so the vest can be tight but have a little flex.
2. There is the mesh under the vest to give a little air space to keep the dog cool.
3. There is a loop on the in the middle of the shoulder blades for a light (I use strobe lights at night so I know where the dogs are in the yard when they go out for their last bathroom break before bed.)
I also like that there are just 2 straps--one around the neck and one around the middle. I keep the neck strap connected, put it over the dogs head and then just click the waist strap. I've had other safety vests with too many straps and connections.

Remy's new vest
I bought this vest for my 70-lb golden retriever, Remy. I have her wear it during evening walks when there is low light and also on weekend hikes in nearby forests when it is hunting season. The vest does not bother her at all and has been quite durable. Remy loves running through forest, rolling in snow, getting covered in burrs, and diving into lakes and streams. The vest has endured all of these events and I haven't noticed a tear yet.
As for sizing, the vest perhaps runs just a tad small. I measured Remy at a 31-inch girth, which is right between a medium and a large size. I bought the large, and it seems to fit just fine so long as I pull the straps pretty tight and tuck under the extra strap length.

Great for Hunting and Tracking Visibility
Already have one; got this one for the new pup. This lightweight vest is easily adjustable for a comfortable fit. My dogs don't object to wearing them at all. Its bright orange ensures everyone can see the dog, so hiking during hunting season is safe, AND it keeps off leash dogs easy to spot as they race off trail.

Great for hunting season
I have a husky who could not put up with a season without hiking. This vest allows us to spend the hunting season out in the woods with less chance of being shot at. It gives us much needed confidence that we will come home in one piece.

Safety first!
I love this little safety jacket. Its perfect for adding LOTS of visibility on our evening bike rides. Great in the late spring, summer, and early fall. I don't feel like my pup gets over heated from our runs because its pretty much open on his underside. Jack doesn't seem to mind once we hit the road and i like that he is SUPER visible when we do encounter a bit of traffic. I would like it if Ruff wear would update the style a bit so that its more like the K-9 overcoat where the head slips in and clips around the belly (for comfort reasons). But not a big deal. Most important thing is that it can be adjusted so that its not sliding all over the place when we're out and about.

Stays on, Dog Loves it & You Can't Miss Him
I bought this jacket for our pup Guinness who loves to run ahead on the trails. It makes our camping trips a lot less stressful when we can spot him hundreds of feet away in his blaze orange jacket. Highly recommended!

Purchased a size medium for my 53 lb lab and size large for my 65 lb lab. Fit great. High visibility. Plan to use when hiking in woods and when walking at night.

Good quality, fits well
After purchasing through several "throw-away" dog vests over the years, I am happy with the quality and fit of the Ruffwear model. Our dogs bound through the woods with reckless abandon and these vests stay on and don't seem to bother them in the least. The visibility is great. The quality is excellent and I think they will last a few seasons at least.

Nice vest - highly visible
I wanted a vest so I could take my yellow lab in the woods during hunting season while making it clear he wasn't a target. This vest fits the bill. It's bright, sturdy and easy to put on. I only used it once so far, but it looks like it should be durable.
It does seem a bit small. I measured the girth on my dog at 29". I bought a medium vest, which is supposed to fit up to 32". It fits my dog fine, but the adjustment is almost all they way out. I think 30" would be the upper limit for this size vest.

Great for evening walks
Our Lab mix puppy wears this on our evening walks. She has black fur, so she can be hard to see at night. This jacket is nice and bright and the reflectors make her easy to see.

A Hunting Season Requirement
If you live in the Midwest and are an avid hiker (with your dog), you can appreciate the need to be highly visible in the woods during the fall. I've always used a reflective orange collar for her, but decided to upgrade to this jacket after coming across one hunter after another on one of our favorite hiking trails.
I got a Medium, which is the size Ruff Wear backpack my dog uses (65 lb German Shepherd). While the Medium does fit, there is zero room for growth, all straps fully extended. If she was still growing, I would've needed a large. After I got this jacket, my hiking buddy bought a Large for her 75 lb Weimaraner, which fits well. I'm sure the quality and durability will be great (everything I've ever purchased from Ruff Wear has held up).

Awesome product!
These jackets are wonderful. I would never take my dogs out to run the tails without them. I have a doberman and it's so hard to find a vest that fits well around her barrel chest and this fits perfect!

A really superior product
With all of my dogs in the bright orange version of the track safety jacket, I can let them off leash on the beach and quickly spot them at a considerable distance. These jackets also protect them from dirt, rain, and cold. They are very tough and well made.

Excellent Coat for Outdoor Woods Dog
I use this jacket on my Airdale. Perfect visibility for when she is out chasing critters. Great visibility during hunting season.

These are well made and worth the cost. Others I have looked at elsewhere received poor reviews. This is a necessity if you hike during hunting season.

Great on and off road
This product is very durable, adjustable and highly visible in the woods. My high drive lab managed to break a buckle the second time out and Altrec took care of it with a replacement and free return shipping. No issues since and it's seen some harsh usage. I bought it for our off leash walking in the woods during deer hunting season. During that time, I realized I enjoyed being able to see my companion better as well. I also discovered it's a great addition to our runs on the backroads here in NC. My black lab gets much more attention from drivers in his hi-vis outfit. Next up, some Ruff Wear boots!

Perfect Visibility to protect my best buddy!
We walk in a state park, live 10 miles from the nation's capitol, and there are crazy men with guns (deer hunters) in our area. Now I feel like we can safely walk and Bodhi will be very visible-the jacket is a perfect fit, the orange cannot be missed, and the material and construction are the quality you would expect from Ruff Wear. We are both very happy with this jacket and the excellent service and help from Altrec.

Highly recommended
I tried other safety vests for my dogs, and this is the only one that I would recommend. It is well-designed, sturdy, provides good coverage of dogs' flanks, and fits well (thanks to range of sizes available.) If your dog's dimensions are near the upper limit of a size, I would recommend ordering the next largest size. You can always cinch it down. This vest costs more than many others, but it is designed to last.

great jacket
this is very bright and easily seen. the material is durable and the fit is very good. Definitely recommended for walking in darker areas where cars zoom past pedestrians
