Great boots!
January 02, 2011
These boots are probably the best boots you are ever going to find! They are durable, fashionable, lightweight, grippy, and won't fall off so long as they are fastened with the convenient velcro strap. Our dogs love to run around in these boots because they feel comfortable in them and they even run faster in them as if they know they'll stay on. You won't regret purchasing these boots!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceWorks great!

I got these for my dog to protect his feet on the concrete in the summer. They worked great!
Pros: Great design, Performance, Cons: CostPad Saver!
June 21, 2010
My 15-year old Aussie suffers from hip arthritis and was wearing her rear pads thin on city sidewalks. These boots protect her pads and last for months despite 3x-daily abrasion on asphalt and concrete. I tried at least 6 other types of less expensive boots first and had to throw them out after 1 week of wear. These boots have a great fit and rugged construction.

We got the smallest size (1.5") for our Cairn terrier puppy, which seems to be correct (we wet her paws and had her walk across a sheet of paper to measure- much easier than tracing her paw as suggested). They seem really well constructed but have a few odd seams inside which seem uncomfortable. They do tend to rotate, like the other reviewers noted, but I don't see how that can be avoided.

Although I had to return my first set of boots for a larger size, the return and exchange was easy! My 14 year old Doberman has DM and the boots have been a lifesaver on our wood floors.

Great Quality but difficult to keep on
March 04, 2013
These are some of the best quality boots on the market. Unfortunately, since my dog is only 12 pounds, I have to tighten the boots very tight to keep them on. It makes me nervous having them that tight so I don't really use them. They would be a great buy for bigger dogs in a cold climate.

Great quality boots that stay on
December 30, 2009
Our Gordon Setter is very active and runs a lot. Now in her new shoes :) Good stretch on top of the shoe keeps them on. Boots are easy on dog's paws. Very well made, good quality shoes. The only problem is that velcro strips are to long for our dog, even thou the boot itself fits very well. The problem is high and wet snow. Portion of the Velcro that is loose (to long) gets clogged by snow and you cannot tighten the shoe back on. Given everything else and other boots we tried I highly recommend those shoes for any active dog. I think they are the best on the market and easy to clean.
good protection

My dog likes it, just hard to get the size right. I have to return it because it was too big for him...
Great value, quality and style
August 17, 2009
My pup loves these shoes, but they are a bit harder to put on than the Grip Trex. we like the scrunchy top which keeps the shoes on better, but also makes it harder to put his little paws in. Once paws are in, the shoe is great for long walks or jogs.
Great quality boots
January 19, 2010
Really well made boots.... however for small dogs they are still quite bulky. The XXXS size fits the foot well enough, however the length is such that it gets caught on the dew claw. I think this is more a question about the length of your dogs ankle though, not a reflection of the quality of the boot.
Good but could be better...
June 18, 2009
Pros: Look nice Stay on better than most "dog shoes" Cons: Hard to get on I had purchased Ruffwear's other type of boots for winter weather that was making my dogs feet bleed, and they stayed on through hours at the dog park, so I was amazed. These Skyliners seem to stay on just as well, and they look to be just as good of quality! My only complaint is that the Skyliners should be designed to go on as easily as the other boots by Ruffwear... it takes me so long to put these on that if my dog was a very patient, still dog... I would have given up! Bottom line... if your dog won't sit still, but the other Ruff Wear boots, I can't see that much of a difference.

DOG Shoes
April 24, 2011
I have a chocolate lab. The shoe gave him enough room hieght wise (from floor to top of his paw) but not enough width; could have ben am error in my part on measuring. I originally ordered a small but, I am exchanging for a medium. He previously could not run more than 3 miles with out his back paws rubbing raw due to having a hammer toes. Now, he runs as long as I can keep up with no issues! Would have preferred the strap to be higher up on the shoe but the benefits out way the small things :) P.S. Make sure it is straped tight or the dog will kick it off.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueAmazing boots!

I LOVE these boots. I bought these boots because my miniature poodles would drag dirt and mud in three times a day after taking them out for their walk (especially when it rained or snowed). But when I put these boots on them, they protect and keep their paws clean! Now, instead of carrying them to the tub and washing their paws, I simply take off the shoes and throw them in the wash. I've washed them about a dozen times already, and they still keep their shape and form. They also stay on really well, even when my dogs run around the yard with them. But you do have to secure the velcro on tightly or they may fall off. You will get the hang of it after a few times. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of these boots! I definitely recommend them.

These don't stay on
December 05, 2010
I measured my dog's feet and ordered x-small based on the chart. They were way too big, they fell off right away. The soft cuff seemed like it would me more comfortable for him, but it just made it easier for them to slip off. I pulled the strap as tight as I could and still they would not stay on. Maybe a smaller size would have been better.
Pros: Build qualityGreat Boots!
December 29, 2010
I purchased the XXS boots for my miniature poodle since I live in Western NY and we get lots and lots of snow. He's usually pretty good, but hates when the snow balls up in around his ankles and this year started gimping along when the snow also balled up in the pads of his feet. The XXS fit him perfectly (he's roughly 16 lbs.), although if he chooses to romp around in the snow/jump up and down, sometimes they come a little loose - and I always have to make sure to secure them tightly around his ankles. But all in all, they're a great buy and definitely worth the money. Also, after a little bit of getting used to (and walking around my apartment like a ballerina) he loves them and stand patiently while I put them on him. He also loves having dry feet! Thank you Ruff Wear for a wonderful dog boot! :)

They do not stay on.
April 13, 2009
I have tried the xxxs for my dogs 1.5" paws. They are suppose to fit 1.25"-1.5". If I crank down the strap all the way my dog crys in pain and they still fall off when he runs. I tried the xxs 1.5" -2". Those went on easier and he did not cry when I tightened the strap but they definately fell off. I also tried the Grip Tech. Both products are well made and I wish they stayed on so my dog could use them. I think the cuff design should go up the leg farther so the could be secured better.

Could be a nice city boots
April 25, 2011
I had been purchasing Ruff Wear Grip Trex boots for years. I thought that I could use this light weight Skyliner boots, without wearing socks, only for city use. The Sure Cinch closure definitely is the top feature which I looked for. This boots are easily to put on and remove. I return the boots and continue buying two additional Grip Trex boots because 1) The top material seems not be breathable, 2) The inside finish sawing was not done well. If these areas could be improved and come with a red color selection, I would consider trying again.

Good fit
January 31, 2011
My dog took quite awhile to get used to wearing them but they do a great job of keeping his paws from freezing in the snow! They fit well and as long as I really tighten the velcro strap he can't pull them off. He doesn't seem to have as much traction as with his paws, but I think that is to be expected with any boot. I would recommend them to anyone who has a pooch that doesn't like cold paws!

Gives my dog pwer!
October 13, 2009
We tried the REI brand dog boots before and went on a 20 mile coastal hike- a pain in the butt to keep re-adjusting and lost 2 booties before we finished. The Ruff Wear Skylines have an advantage because of the rubber sole and higher cuffs that prevent rocks from entering- as well as to make sure the boots stay on during running. The first time we went jogging along the dirty trail with the Ruff Wear boots he tore off! The boots protect his paws from the rocky dirty, which can be abrasive to the pads. I look forward to using the Ruff Wear skylines more often!
Good for precious feet protection!
August 22, 2009
These shoes are great to prevent injury and or to cover their boo boo's when they happen. They were a little bigger than I thought but wouldn't be able to get on a smaller pair. I have a doberman about a year old. He danced like crazy when I first got them on him but once he got going (and I stopped crying laughing) they worked great! :)
Great for injured paws
June 23, 2010
I bought these to cover my dogs paws. He had wore down the foot pads and I had gauze wrapped over them. They were great to give him some traction and keep him from licking his bandages. I'm excited to try them in the winter. The only complaint I have is that it is sometimes hard to keep them on him when we are on hikes.
Definitely 5 star quality!
January 22, 2010
We have two golden retrievers and we fit them both with medium boots. One of our dogs has particularly sensitive paws and the padding on the bottom affords her the protection she needs from the cold. The good sturdy construction makes them very easy to put on. Even though the dogs would prefer not to wear boots, they seem to adjust to these very well. Good buy!!
Not good for hairy dogs
June 08, 2010
They aren't what I was expecting. I have a GIANT MALAMUTE. He has really, really hairy legs. The gaiter on these things won't work for him. They are too hard to put on. I ordered the Ruff Wear Bark'n Boots before, and wanted to try something different but I am going back to the first ones. Same brand and they are really great boots for my dog.
Little Joe
November 08, 2009
So good so far. Just got the booties but they seem to stay on just fine for the walks we've been on. Takes a bit of time to get each one on, but that's okay. As we get more snow they'll really be put to the test. The booties are for my Boston Terrier that loves going snowshoeing. A size XXS fit perfectly.
January 29, 2012
These are the only dog booties that fit my small spaniel (she's the XXXS although she's about 25 lbs). We do an occasional "boot check, 1-4" to make sure she has all them with her while we're cross country skiing, but other than that these are great! Much better than attempting to melt ice between her pads every 30 minutes.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityPretty good boot, but not for high activity
December 05, 2010
I got these boots for both of my dogs (55 & 60 lbs), and they help them walk in the snow without getting ice balls between their pads. However, I did have to send the first pair back because although I followed the size chart and measured each of my dogs' paws, the boots were too small for one of them. Also, they stay on pretty well for walks on leashes but I haven't figured out how to keep them on when my dog runs or plays. I think it would be very helpful if the boots came with a sizing guide that had tips on how to easily get the boots on, how tight they should be around the ankle, etc. Overall, though, they serve their purpose and keep paws dry as long as the dog doesn't get too rowdy.
Awesome product
February 21, 2011
My dog could hardly walk outside in the cold because his little paws got so cold and sore from the snow, but with these things he's able to walk like a champ. He took to them right away, and it's been smooth sailing since.
Pros: Build qualitythe velcro is badly placed
June 03, 2010
it's so low that the dog practically walks on the velcro, it gets very dirty. The dog doesn't find the boots comfortable also, because of the low placement. A higher placement, or a wider velcro band (to keep it higher up on the foot) would be better. Not as ergonomic as I thought they'd be. I'm back to the Epiks by Gooby, which fit better, though they're not as rugged.
Best Boots For Active Dogs
October 20, 2010
I have tried all different types of boots for my 3 year old yellow lab, but they all seemed to fly off when she is out in the snow or starts to run. I don't think most dog boots were made with a highly active dog in mind. We just got the boots a couple of weeks back, and I've been putting them on so she can get use to walking in them. But she doesn't try to tear them off which is a good sign. They are made real nice. Best I've gotten so far.

Great protection on walks in snow, ice and salt covered pathes
January 09, 2009
These boots are great for my Weimaraner during our walks on the snowy, ice and salt covered sidewalks. I no longer have to worry about the salt burning her pads or snow getting clumped up. How ever I would not advise them for jogging or running on ice or snow since the dog does not have use of her nails for tracktion. They are a little hard to get on but with some patience they will go on and stay on if you messured corectly and tighten down the velcro strap. They does seem pricey but I believe they will last a few years. The rubber pad on the bottom is thicker than any that I have seen in pet store. At first she tried to get the boots off but once we start walking outside it seems that she does not even know she has them on.
they work fine
January 15, 2010
The boots are a little time consuming to put on, particularly if your dog doesn't cooperate. Once they are on the dog's feet, you need to let the dog use them for a little while--(5-10 minutes)--then check the fit again. My dog didn't like them at first, but she is getting used to them.
great dog boots
November 28, 2012
We've had several sets of these boots for our active dogs. They fit well for dog boots. I use them mainly to keep the snow out of our active German Wire Hair

Hunting dog
January 22, 2010
They fit the dog well, my first pair so did not know what to expect. They felt like good quality and looked good. Velcro could be a bit shorter, it goes all the way around. Using to keep dog from cutting his feet while hunting.
great boots to protect tender paws
January 20, 2010
I got these boots and have found them to be easy to put on and very sturdy.
great
August 19, 2009
This is a great boot for your dog! We looked around and tried on a bunch of different brands and kinds before settling with this one. It doesn't fall off and it looks to be comfortable. Great for snow and also in hot weather.
great boot but not a good fit
March 08, 2011
These are great boots, quality is wonderful...but...they just don't fit my dog's paws. They flipped off, even though I secured them tightly. The back paws slipped off the easiest. I was disappointed because I really wanted to keep them because these were perfect for him to wear out in the snow, rain, trails, etc.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of useThese boots are the best
August 10, 2009
We have an older Scottish Deerhound with spasticity in his hind legs, so he drags his rear paws and wears out his toe-nail to the point of bleeding. After trying a number of different styles and brands we were told about skyliners. They do take a bit of work to put them on -- I've found it works best to roll back the cuff before sliding the boot over the toes. That said, it is because of that cuff that other boots do not have, that the skyliners don't come off, and don't flip around, so the dog consistantly walks on the rubber sole of the boot. Other boots would rotate and our dog would walk instead on the top or side of the boot, and of course they would wear out in short order. These boots are by far the best for our needs that we have been able to find.
Good general purpose bootie; not perfect
January 16, 2011
I have a very active, wild border collie whose paws get torn up when running about in the ice and snow. I couldn't justify the price for the higher-end version of these boots meant for snow, so I decided to try these. The sizing seems spot on to me -- I measured and re-measured my dogs paws for accuracy so make sure you follow the instructions carefully. They were a little difficult to get on at first and the first time she wore them they fell right off. Be sure to cinch them as tightly as possible -- the velcro goes all the way around, wrap the straps around as far as they will go. Once I realized I had to cinch them VERY tightly, they mostly stay on even when my dog is running around in light snow, chasing a ball. However, if she is running in the woods, digging holes and chasing squirrels and what not, they eventually WILL fall off. The snow tends to get caked in the velcro, and with her level of activity, there is just simply no way to keep them on for extended periods of time. That is okay with me; I realize these boots are not designed specifically for high activity in deep snow -- I just wish they came in brighter colors to assist with finding them when they do come loose, and I wish that they were not so pricey. These seem expensive for specifically light activity boots, and there is no way I am paying $90 for the higher end ones. They are DOG boots! Bottom line -- if you want boots that will do the job while on walks or light activity in light snow, these will do the job very well. If you have a very active, crazy dog like mine, expect them to come off after extended periods of activity. I am giving these boots three stars because they do perform as they're designed to pretty well; however, this design is too limited in scope and does not justify the high price tag, and they should come in bright, easy-to-spot colors.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Cons: Cost, colorNot for small dogs
June 29, 2011
I purchased the smallest one they make for our chihuahua mix, and they are still way too big. XXXS is probably a good size for a 20lb dog, not very good for 5+ pounder. They stay fairly well, but look a bit like clown shoes, and my puppy walks like she is wearing flippers. It is a shame since they look well made with nice packaging.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Cons: too bigNot for dachshunds
July 16, 2011
In order for me to actually get the correct size for my miniature dachshund, I would have to buy both XXS and XXXS. Not cheap! The XXS were too big for her back paws, and the XXXS were too small for her front paws and very difficult to get on. Once we did get them on, they came off pretty quickly. We returned both sets and accepted the fact that we'll just have to be extra careful with her sensitive little feet. I'm sure these boots are awesome for bigger dogs. I've seen them on several dogs around town, and both dog and owner seem to like them very much. Not for dachshunds, though.
Too hard to put on
September 15, 2008
I have another pair of Ruff Wear boots for my dog that are just great, but these have a "cuff" like those at the end of sweatshirt sleeves, that makes them very hard to get on, especially on squirmy dogs or puppies. The other style is PERFECT, I don't know why they changed them.
Great Boots !
March 13, 2010
My dog is a sheltie. The boots were not hard to put on. They fit snug and they didn't fall off. I ordered these boots because he had surgery on one of his paws and he needed extra suppoert in walking. He walks just fine in them.

Not worth it!
May 05, 2010
I'm sorry but I got this - so excited to try them because my Husky has foot pad problems. Not too difficult to put them on, but she wasn't out of the garage and all four were off. They just fell off even though I snugged them up with the velcro. They need to be taller so the velcro would fit tighter.
These boots are a real paw saver!
February 23, 2009
Our young Old English Sheepdogs has a cronic paw problem with one paw. We tried several styles of boots for her to wear when she goes out. The Skyliner is the best boot we have used and it is easy to get on and off. She likes them and has earned the name Teddy Tapper because you can always hear her coming when she has on her Skyliner.

Good Pair of Dog Shoes!
December 09, 2009
These boots are a little difficult to keep on sometimes but overall great. You slide them over your dog's foot and strap them on with the attached velcro straps. The "cuff" another reviewer mentioned feel like the part of a sweatshirt that hits your wrist but more durable and are there to keep your dog comfortable and the shoes on. Our Weim got used to these pretty quickly and has used them for long walks on pavement and in a foot of snow with good results.
Dog Booties!
