The Hoopie collar is a great purchase. Tough fabric wears well yet is soft not to irritate the skin on my sensitive puppy. Clip is easy to get on and off and leash loop is easy to grab. Adjusts quickly. Great collar!

I have a 97 pound Black Lab mix. The Hoopie Collar is a great collar. The collar provides excellent durability with a very attractive & sporty look. I love the aluminum V-ring feature. The aluminum V-ring makes a strong leash attachment point that is separate from the ID tag attachment. The side-release buckle is strong & does not chafe or irritate my dogs skin. This was a great purchase! I also purchased the Flat Out Leash to go with the collar. I love the leash, but it is not very strong. Within 2 days of having it, my dog chewed part of it:(

Handsome collar

Handsome collar, good fit, and I've had a good experience with my previous Hoopie Collar. This also has a divider for dog tags, so there is less jingling, should you choose to use it. I gave durability 4 stars, as the plastic tag holder did eventually break, after 5 years, losing my tags. Honestly, my dog may have snagged on something - If he did snag, I'd want it to break off! My previous collar got a lot of use. As I walk/train my Weimaraner frequently, and he goes everywhere with us, he is constantly being put on/off leash. It's also been very, very muddy, and it has been washed very often, yet it held up through it all. Colors still look great.

This is the 2nd Hoopie collar I've purchased. The first one was the lt. blue topography print which I loved b/c of color and being lightweight. The 2nd is the solid green which is a little heavier weight than the printed one but still it isn't bulky. The quick release and the separate tag ring are appreciated. I'll probably buy another one down the road if I need to. The 1st one wore out only b/c my dog got a hold of it when it was off his neck and he chewed on it which pulled then tore the fabric.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this dog collar. This was the top choice. Top quality, great design features, and great value. The new design looks great and is very functional with the ID tag and new style leash attachment. Very durable and holds the color well, wont fade in the sun or water. My yellow lab loves both! I would recommend trying this as you wont be disappointed.

We got this for our first dog an likes it so much that our second rescue also got one. It's light, durable and dries really fast. I've never had a problem with the buckle or any other part.

Nothing frustrates more than trying to clip the dogs to her leash and accidentally clipping to the tags. Make that mistake only once and you'll appreciate how great a design this is. So much less wear and tear on the tags, collar and me. I won't pretend that they quiet the noise from the tags, but it's just so much simpler. My dog is a bit of a messy one, so i'm on my third one of these. They last and last, but the webbing material seems to hold some funk through the wash.

i have purchased three hoopies already, and i'm sure i'll purchase more once there are new colors and patterns. that is how much i love them! these collars are washable, durable, comfortable (from what i can tell), and stylish. oh, and the tag silencer is the icing on the cake. it's a little on the spendy side, but i think it's worth it. ruffwear has another winner with this hoopie collar.

Very Solid Collar

Quality construction and attention to detail. The extra ring for the ID tags is a nice touch. I bought these collars for three active dogs. I have noticed that they do tend to slide out of shape a bit if your dogs are the type who pull on the leash. One of my dogs is a husky mix so I found that I have to re-tighten the collar somewhat frequently. Otherwise, its a very good quality collar.

I bought two of these collars, one for a 75lb English bulldog and one for a 15lb Shih-Tzu and it works great for both. They soft and comfortable but have a rugged dense weave. They are wide which seems to help when the dog pulls on the collar. It seems to lessen the the stress on the neck. I do wish the tag was closer to the leash hook...some people may miss it when looking for it. It's a minor issue tho and by no means a deal breaker.

I have a 70lbs lab going through training who loves his squirrels, and unfortunately, this collar pops right off with a good pull...so unfortunately, not the safest collar.

I've always kept my dogs on harnesses, but decided to switch to a collar when my fox terrier's fur started getting bristly all along the harness. So far so good! The nylon seems soft but strong - not as stiff as other collars I've looked at - and he seems to be very comfortable in it. Plus the red looks great. I ordered a size small, which is just right for my 20-lb dog. At its largest, it fits comfortably around his neck, even with the huge winter coat he's been growing. Once I have him groomed for the warmer weather, I'll be able to size it down easily. Finally, I love having the tags and ring on different parts of the collar. It really does reduce the rattling, and prevents me from accidentally hooking his leash into the wrong ring.

I HAVE A VIZSLA THAT LOVES TO HUNT, BUT BECAUSE OF HER SHORT HAIR, I LIKE TO PROTECT HER WITH A HUNTING COAT AND OR A SKID PLATE. PREVIOUS TO THIS PURCHASE, I COULD ONLY FIND COATS THAT STOPPED AT HER LEGS. SINCE SHE IS AN AGGRESSIVE HUNTER, THE INSIDE OF HER LEGS NEAR HER CHEST WOULD GET BEAT UP BADLY. HER NEW JACKET PROTECTS THAT AREA VERY NICELY WITHOUT LIMITING HER RANGE OF MOTION. HER NEW COLLAR LOOKS NICE TOO. OUR LOCAL PET STORES DO NOT HAVE ANY THING LIKE IT. THANKS ALTREC AND RUFFWEAR

I have looked around for a decent dog collar at all the local pet stores and just couldn't find one worth the money for what they offered. Even searching online seemed difficult. I started thinking I was being too particular but then when I went to order some shoes from Altrec, I noticed these collars. Seemed pretty decent, so I decide to order two of them. After they arrived, I placed them on our dogs while out camping, but the one dog kept getting loose, snapped the buckle. After calling Ruffwear, they stated that sometimes the collar buckle can develop a "memory?" Basically the buckle doesn't snap close enough and hold as tight if it ever gets pulled apart with force. The other collar has held up great. I did get a replacement for the other one and since both has worked great! The color and quality of the material are well made. I do love the fact that it has a seperate hook for the tags and the leash! I would definitely purchase again.

I bought a second one when i saw them go on sale, but haven't had to pull it out of the cabinet. The original one i bought has held up to a lot of dirt and grime. A quick wash and off we go again. The dog i have this on is 45lb or so, pulls a bit but the collar stays put. The material seems to be just the right mix of thick and rugged to keep it from slipping. Assuming i ever use the second one, will definitely buy a third.

Got this collar for our Springer Spaniel as she is always on the move and in the water frequently. The tag quieting feature is unique and I like that it is not on the same loop as the leash hook. Rated good for durability and quality because just ordered 3 weeks ago. Have other Ruffwear products that withstand much wear and tear.

I love these collars. They are sturdy and easy to use. Ruff Wear is a great brand. I just purchased these for our two new chocolate lab puppies after losing our 15 year old black lab. I always used Ruff Wear with her.

A Good Collar

The Hoopie Dog Collar is a good collar for a large(~100 lb) dog. The construction quality seems to be excellent. I was looking for a solid color well-made collar that would not be bulky or uncomfortable for my dog, and this collar has met those expectations perfectly.

I have tried a multitude of collars and this one is by far the BEST I have ever used. Ruff Wear is the only collar that has been able to withstand my dogs. It is very well designed and unlike Lupine collars they actually come clean when you wash them. My Australian Shepherd has been wearing this collar for the last year and it still looks brand new.
