Best Boots Out There!
November 05, 2012
My last pair of boots were a pair of Salomon F20's. Stepped up to some F3.0's this season and I couldn't be happier with the fit. They flex more smoothly and the lacing system is very simple and intuitive. Can't wait to get them in the snow!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueWrite a review for the Salomon Snowboards F3 Snowboard Boots here.
Excellent boot
January 31, 2013
I purchased these boots after having many problems find a boot that fit comfortable. I have a size 12.5 foot or a mondo 30.5 many companies skip that size and Salomon is on that doesn't. Thinks that interested me about the boot were the stiffness, Salomons repuation, the footprint reduction, and the lacing system. As far as stiffness goes these are a mid to stiff flex boot, they do not have an articulating cuff but it is cut in a way that eliminates most of the outwards flex when the boot flexes, also the way the lacing system is designed puts a natural flex resistor at your ankle. I thought this might be a problem but it is located exactly where your ankle strap on your bindings would sit so in reality it winds up being very comfy. For someone with my size feet it is important to save wieght and boot size where you can and the reduced foot print is significant. The boots are the same size as my 12.5 running shoes (althought hey are a bit wider but that doesnt matter much. They fit well in my Burton Malavita bindings and a pair of Flow NXT-ATSE's I have used. The lacing system is amazing. The liner lacing system used a cam to lock the laces where you put them. It makes it so wherever you set your liner is how tight it will stay. This leads to excellent heel hold. The outer laces are a new take on zonal lacing that is similar in idea to a ski boot. You can adjust each part of the laces to exactly how you want and keep it there. The Con I have is that the footbeds on my pair were seated wrong and unuseable, it didnt matter to me since I have custom ones but if this defect was on someone elses they might be shelling out more money then they intended to. For a boot in this price range that shouldnt have happened. In the end they are a very good boot that is warm enough for all but the coldest days and sit on the foot like a pair of sneakers. The lacing system is very fast and effective and teh heel hold is exceptional.
