Salomon Snowboards Men's Malamute Snowboard Boot:
Less energy lost in transmission, more power applied to your snowboard edges. The Malamute is one of the few snowboard boots available today that comes closest to harnessing all of the power in your legs and transmitting everything to your board. This is done through an asymmetrical construction and anatomical power frame along the upper that improves the energy transmission without stiffing you on the lateral mobility. While the whole anatomical power frame is a carryover from last year, this season Salomon added a new Bio Custom Fit Pro liner that neatly conforms to the shape of your feet far better than the previous Malamute incarnations. Salomon calls their Bio Custom Fit Pro liner "the most advanced anatomical multi-density liner construction"--so that makes it better than the Autofit Self 3 Reflex in Salomon's F24? Well, since the Fusion boots integrate their liners into the shell, that's a little like comparing oranges to um, grapefruits or something citrus-like because there are similarities. Essentially the Bio Custom Fit Pro liner in the Malamute gives you heat moldable customization from the calf to the toes. It also features ankle inserts that you can customize for better individualized foothold in the boot. Another nice touch is Salomon's Comform'able footbed with low pressure massage bubbles in the footbed, although the footbed does offer plenty of support along key foot areas for optimized performance. The Malamute is the only Salomon boot that features an adjustable internal heel strap that connects the liner to the boot sole for exceptional precision. Beneath everything is an ultra-sensitive Sensiflex outsole with rubber metatarsus pods that work as sensors between your board and the bottoms of your feet. Like the Fusion boots, the Malamute also features Salomon's exclusive ADIPRENE compound to help absorb impacts from big air landings.
