Super lightweight and confortable hiking boots
I gotta say that these are probably the lightest and most mean-looking pair of boots you'll ever find.
They fit my feet like a glove, and it just looks great. It goes well with pretty much anything I wear.
I've had these for about 9 months now and I've used them quite a lot, and yet, the sole and other parts that usually starts to wear out quickly (toes and heels) are holding up very well, with a much lower than usual sole wear.
If you're looking for a solid, durable, well built, lightweight hiking boot: This is it.
By the way, if you end up getting these boots, get ready to be envied. Most of my friends ended up buying one for themselves after I showed up at the climbing gym wearing them. :)

it's ok
i think it runs little big other than that i like it. i am 5.8" and most of time i wear shoe size 8.5 and fits me perfect but this has lots of extra space in front of my toes.

Great Light Weight Boots
I have taken a 10 mile hike on a local trail. These boots are very comfortable and light. No blister or foot issues. I'm thinking of buying a second pair. Definitely worth the money.

I recently bought the same boot for women and loved them so much that I bought them as a present for my boyfriend. He is equally happy with his boots as I am with mine! They are comfortable & look great!

Great lightweight boots
Having put over 100 miles in these, I must say that they are superb. They've been used in the tundra, mud, water, and mountains. When paired with gaiters and crampons they can be used for mountaineering as well. Almost waterproof, weigh under a pound each & fit my feet very well.

Great lightweight hiking shoes
I have been using these shoes hunting and they are very comfortable and lightweight. They keep my feet warm and dry even in freezing temps and wet land areas. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who is looking for a great lightweight hiking shoe!

These Boots are amazing
This is one heavy duty pair of hiking boots as far as the material goes and they are sturdy! But here is the best part, they are light as a feather, lighter than my nike hikers which are much smaller and less sturdy. Great ankle support, great look, and they are super comfortable. Already have 15 miles on them in two days and my feet feel great! Worth the money all the way, your feet will thank you at the end of the day. Can't wait to get some real alltitude on em!

Great Boot
These boots I've had for only a couple days now but they are by far the most comfortable boots I own. Straight out of the box with no break in I went on a 5 mile walk for a non profit here in town and my feet were in heaven. I'm sure they will handle the trails coming up this weekend just as easy. I would highly recommend anything Salomon makes but these in particular are extremely comfortable and they look better in person than they do in the picture.
Just another great boot from Salomon that I highly recommend.

Solid and comfortable
I have worn an older version of this shoe for years and have been very pleased. However, all good things tend to be discontinued for whatever reason. These look different, but are actually better. They are a bit MORE water resistant than the previous model. Make no mistake, these are water resistant, not water proof. Rubber boots are the only real water proof option. Overall, though, a great mid boot...so far! A bit pricey.

Love 'em
Bought these to replace the Salomon Canyon Mids, purchased in 2007. They are much lighter than the Canyons, which they resemble in design and fit, same great grip too. Rather than leather, these have an all man made upper. Break in was negligible, it would be better described as "loosening them up". Just spent two days out in muddy snow melt running around in the woods, often up to my ankles, with my scouts and like the my previous Salomon's, my feet were nice and dry. Sizing is true, nice room in the toe box, arch was a bit high for me, but the Ortholite insoles are cushy. I am 5' 9", 215, my foot is a 10 D. Salomon is one of the few brands that feels as if they used my foot as the model for their last. Running around in the woods up and down hills my foot stayed firmly in it's place. Based on the life of my previous Salomon boots and shoes, these should last for quite a while.

Great Boot
Typical Salomon shoe - extra cushioning but sturdy foot bed - ready to wear out of the box. I wear them during nasty weather casually or when I run in rough terrain. Have worn them hiking and hunting - but they are nice enough to wear on casual days to work.

Comfortable
Extremely comfortable and no break-in required right out of the box; haven't tried out the Gore-tex yet but so far really impressed.

Another Quality Salomon Product
I've been a long-time buyer of Salomon shoes and decided to step into their boot category recently with this boot. It fits like a comfortable shoe but gets the job done on the trail. It gives good support as well as being water proof. I highly recommend this boot for those weekend trips without a heavy pack.

Very Satisfied
Bought Salomon Fastpackers to replace worn out Asolo hiking boots. Just returned from Colorado, wore the boots right out of the box on a 12 mile hike in RM National Park. Super light and absolutely no break-in required - feet felt fine the next day. Also took up two 14ers -Uncompahgre and Sneffels, boots performed superbly on rock -great traction on smooth rock as expected. Roomy toe box worked well on steep descents. One minor negative: the laces seemed to loosen up on climbs and tended to come untied even with double knot. I am replacing the stock strings. The soles are very flexible, and may not be ideal for heavy backpacking on rocky soil. I am 56, 190 lbs. - probably about 225 lbs. total load on shoes with pack. Summary: Light-weight, comfortable, no break-in required.

good looking pair of shoe
Its great. Give good support and comfort. Even its a boot, I don't feel the weight and fits the feet very well. I am sure I am going to try out more Salomom shoes in futures.

Very happy
Looked forward to receiving these boots and i was not disappointed. Went out the next day to run them in, i walked about 3 mile through the bush.Have owned ski boots made by Salomon but this is my first hiking boots and wont be the last

Great Light Shoes
They feel great and offer me complete support. They are light and comfortable. I'll be using them this weekend and I'll be walking on them the next few days to break them in, but they don't seem like they need to be broken in...they feel like wearing sneakers.

great shoe
have many salomon trail shoes. this was the first hiking shoe i bought. i took it on a 6 mile hike and like all of the other salomon shoes i have had they fit like a glove and have great support and comfort. the mid shoe is much lighter that the heavy hiking boots that i have used in the past. if you aren't carrying more than 20 lbs. there is no reason not to go with these lighter, faster and more comfortable shoes. salomons rock. you can't go wrong with these shoes.

Looks a little cheap, but the comfort is fantastic. Orthopedic insole and made of gortex. Will last for a long time.

The fasttracker is perfect for hikes that call for a lighter boot. True to size and durable, I would recommend to anyone.

Excellent boots
These boots are sensational, they are very light, have great traction and good feel through the sole. I followed other reviewer's recommendations and got a 1/2 size larger than I normally would have and they fit perfectly. Thanks to the other reviewer's for this information. I like these boots enough that I am buying some Salomon running shoes.

Awesome boots
Love them. I have high arches and they have great arch support. Hiked 75 miles in one week and didn't get scorched feet or any blisters. I am going to buy a second pair

Light But Tough on Your Feet
Owning a different pair of Salomon boots, I expected these to be as comfortable as the others. However, despite their lightness, they are tough on my feet. The boots are not comfortable. I regret buying them and after wearing them trying to break them in, no way I can return them. Looks like they will not be worn much.

Great light boots!
I have a pair of the women's salomon hiking shoe and love them! So, I mentioned to my husband that he should try the men's boot in the Salomon and likes the weight and feel of the boot. He's been very impressed with the boot!
