This warm winter footwear is has a SOFTSHELL upper that is treated to improve waterproofing while remaining breathable and lightweight and, with a full bootie construction, eliminates openings in the tongue for a truly waterproof shell. With 200 g of Thinsulate™ insulation these winter boots combat the cold while remaining breathable for high levels of activity. Salomon’s Quicklace™ system gives a snug consistent fit, cradling your feet into supportive EVA midsoles with anatomical molded EVA sockliners with a single pull of the lace cord. Temperature rated down to 20° F these boots will tackle your snowy winter adventures with the performance of Salomon’s legendary alpine roots.

Good allround winter boot

I purchased these boots primarily to go to and from work thru the cold and snow but found these boots very practical for town as they are not so bulky or heavy as with your typical winter boot. A good allround boot that is lightweight, waterproof and breathable. Warm on cold days and can withstand temperatures down to 20 F. The QuickLace system is nice especially when your coming in from the cold and want to remove your boots promptly. The soles have good traction on wet surfaces and thru the snow and seem to be lasting well now thru two winters without much ware and tare. I am a size 9-1/2 with most brands but with this manufacture I need a half size smaller 9.

Super lightweight winter walker/hiker.

I have just received these boots so I can't say for sure that they will be durable but they do seem very well made, and from sturdy materials. They are puddle and snow proof so far, and quite comfortable for walking. They are much warmer than I expected them to be so don't get them if you won't have weather at least the 40's, though if you are standing around in rainy but warmer weather they might be nice. The sole has great traction, especially on slippery wet surfaces. They do seem to run a bit short, say a half size. I am more often a 9.5 but a 10 in this particular boot. They are hands down the best looking and most sensibly designed membrane lined boot I could find, and they weigh only as much as a light hiker.

I have been looking for a good all around winter boot. These boots are great. Look good and fit great. They are warm. They are true to fit. Wish they came in more colors.

Good warm boot with great grip. Only downside is the velcro strap at top in concert with the thick padding does allow some snow in the top area of the boot.

Light weight and agile. . .fine pair of boots. What else would you expect from altrec.com. The fit was fine in my normal size! Lacing system provides a tight seal!

Great winter shoe

Got these for my dad. He has problems with feet and Salomon seems to be the only company that would satisfy his need for comfortable foot-bed. This shoe was no exception. The size fitted perfectly. These shoes are also very warm - rated -7C on Salomon website, but my dad wore these at -20C and claimed he was warm even with regular cotton socks.
