It might be my next go-to hoody
December 24, 2012
First off - Im 5'9" and 150lb with slim build. Haven't had it out on a serious trip yet but i have been trying it out around town and was out in some pretty heavy winds #25mph# and it seems to be windproof and im not sure how it will do in some light rain but the outer face seems to slough the water off when i throw it on to it from the sink. I got a medium and it fits me perfect with enough room for a next to skin layer and a 100 weight fleece underneath. The hood seems to be comfortable with or without a toque on. The full front zip feels a little stiff on the chin area but i think it will break in just fine and the thumb loops feel a little awkward at first but are very functional and when not in use you don't even know they are there. The pockets are great and easy to use - the zippers on the hand pockets are not uncomfortable on the wrist while using the pockets. I would consider this to be a heavy wt fleece #but a 142g lighter than a tnf denali hoody#. Its 70g heavier than my blurr core hoody but i was looking for windproof with a dwr so i wouldn't have to throw a shell on for a little bit of rain. Just want to add that its very comfortable with just a t-shirt underneath with no extra bulk. I only gave it a four star because i can't really comment on the durability of it cause i've only had it a short time but seems robust to last awhile.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
