Salomon Men's Lord Ski
Designed specifically for big mountain freeskiing, the Salomon Lord ski shares the same collection category with the wide-waist Rocker, Czar and X-Wing Lab, but it's the narrowest ski in the collection, which makes it ideal for spring backcountry conditions when the snow settles down to hardpack and rough corn. Salomon designed their Lord ski with a wide nose and tapered semi-twin tail, but it doesn't have the same sort of surfy characteristics found in the big-girth big mountain skis. This is a ski that's ideal for hardpack backcountry conditions and wind-scored crud--it also offers a turn radius that's half the distance of the powder plank platforms. Salomon kept the design light by using a lively full wood core construction, but they installed a special Pulse Pad elastomer that helps dampen vibrations when you're going fast. They also applied their "edgy monocoque" construction, which essentially helps transmit the power from your boots and bindings to the ski edges for better grip on the snow. Pair this ski with Salomon's Z14 or STH 12 and you're ready to carve turns throughout the season.
