Salomon XR Mission Trail Running Shoes - Men's

BEST SHOES I HAVE EVER BOUGHT!!

I purchased these shoes about 2 months ago due to a recommendation from a friend of a friend. I am a 35 year old male who works in the auto industry and I am on my feet for 10-12 hours a day on walking on concrete. I consider myself to be in decent shape but my knees and legs have always hurt due to being on my feet for such an extended period of time. I've tried several brands and I've tried several different shoe supports but nothing ever seemed to really help. I was talking to a friend about this one day, saying that I couldn't find a shoe that was supportive, comfortable and didn't look like a "work boot". She had mentioned that she had a friend that did a lot or running and to maybe check out the Salomon brand because they were light, comfortable, supportive and came in several different cool color combinations. So we went to several area stores and tried some on. I tend to have a wider foot and have trouble with certain brands that don't come in a "wide" or "EE". These felt unbelievably great and I fell in love with them immediately. I knew that I had to have a pair!! They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!! I have been wearing them for 2 months to work and also just out and about-- my feet and legs have NEVER felt better!! They are light and they breathe well so my feet never sweat in them either. I bought the bright blue/pop green/black ones but I don't see those on the site anymore. There are several color combinations for men and then also several more combinations for women!! I plan on buying myself a black pair within the next month and hopefully Salomon will continue to come out with great looking and extremely comfortable shoes for many years to come!! Spoil your feet and definitely splurge on a pair or two or three of these because your feet deserve the best!!!

I loved the first pair so much I decided to buy a second pair in a different color. My one suggestion to Salomon is that they need to improve the slider on the laces. It is easy to tightening them, but the plastic slider doesn't slide easily when you need to loosen them. A first time Salomon shoe user might find this annoying, but since I've been wearing Salomon shoes for the last 8 years, I've become a huge fan of their shoes and am willing to overlook this one item. Hopefully they can improve it. As for fit and performance, the Salomon XR Mission Shoes are top notch just as the first pair. Fits true to size and breathes very well.

Great Shoe

Just another in a line of great shoes from Salomon, the fit is great, they are as comfortable as I've come to expect from Salomon. The speed lace system is a great feature not found on most shoes that also adds to the convenience of this shoe. I've gone on 2 hikes about 10 miles each time and my feet felt as good at the end as they did at the beginning.

Big Drop

I think this is a great shoe — if you like a large heal to toe drop. I found the heel to be very thick and clunky feeling so I ended up returning this shoe. But on the bright side, I thought the fit of the shoe was fantastic. It is very narrow in the heel with a nice wide toe box, and also a very high arch. I thought that these were also plenty cushiony, for a trail shoe.

These shoes provide wonderful support and comfort on all terrain situations. I especially like the lace system. Salomon shoes are consistent in providing long term performance. I would recommend these shoes for those who are mountain runners, and those who are walking around local parks.

Doesn't fit or feel like a Salomon

I'm a big fan of Salomon trail running shoes having worn the Salomon Speedcross 3 and the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra for years. Since much of my running is on both road and trail surfaces I thought I'd try the Salomon XR Mission. The quality of materials and manufacturing quality appears to be good in this shoe. However, the fit and feel does not come anywhere close to the above mentioned shoes. Granted, these are "hybrid" shoes meant for road use. But I expected a similar fit to Salomon's trail running shoes. The forefoot and toe box on the XR Mission is too large for my feet and I don't have particularly narrow feet. This is the primary reason I do not care for these shoes. I would add that the cushioning is sub par as well. Sorry Salomon, I'll stick with your trail specific running shoes but get my road running shoes from another brand.

Great shoes

I have had my best fit with the Salomon shoes. NB, Columbia, Nike are okay but the best fit and support come from Salomon. I have fairly flat feet and these offer great arch support and comfort.
