Good general purpose trail runner
This is a good general purpose trail runner, with a sole that won't wear as fast as others if worn on some pavement. They are also nice looking enough to use for daily sneakers after being retired from trails. Like all the Salomons, the speed laces are fantastic and the shoe fits like a glove when adjusted properly.

Amazing comfort
This is the second pair of XT Wings I've purhcased due to the great style, fit and durability. I have wider feet so the toe box is very comfortable unlike some of the other Salomon shoes. I am 6'1 180 lbs and I use the shoes both outside hiking/running as well as around town for comfort. I was concerned the Gore Tex might be too warm for the 80+ degree temps but found that they are very comfortable and ventilated even in the heat. The shoes aren't great for extreme rocky conditions because the tread on the bottom of the shoe isn't thick enough to absorb jagged conditions, much better on a flatter trail.

Great Stuff
I wore through my first pair of these, and I immediately ordered a second pair. The sole was separating from the shoe, which is a shame, because they had become so darn comfortable. The gore-tex still keeps my feet dry, even though the show is getting pretty shabby. The have great support, the quick-lace system is awesome, and I am confident that my new pair will be the same.

Best Support Ever!
I have actually had times when my feet hurt so bad from working in dress shoes that I come home and put these shoes on just to feel better! Great support, Gore-Tex is good enough for the Rockies and the fit and design is supreme. These are the best hiking/traveling shoes that I have ever had.

Simply an amazing shoe
Pros:
-Cushioning is just right. From the moment I bought the shoes my feet felt comfortable and at home, no break-in period needed.
-Quick zip laces make me wonder what I'll do with my traditionally laced shoes. If you're like me and you're wondering what to do with the excess lace, tuck the rubber guard on the lace into the sewn on tuck-away on the tongue.
-These shoes are amazingly warm. While not being as breathable as other shoes, these Salomon's have kept my feet warm in 20 degree ambients and 7 degree wind-chilled temps. I haven't had a chance to test out the Gore-Tex yet, but I'm looking forward to the winter snows with confidence.
Con:
-And this is very specific to me. I have high arches and I've noticed that the fit on my left foot is not as comfortable. Don't get me wrong, these Salomon's run true to size, the issue I'm having is I can feel the outside arch support rubbing the base of the arch of my foot. Definitely not a deal-breaker in my opinion, but something to watch out for once you get these shoes.
Its worth noting. My roommate has a pair of Salomon Comp 4 GTXs and another friend of ours has the Salomon Wings GT GTX from last year, and they both swear by them. These shoes are well worth the money!

Great Shoe
Loved them so far. Played in the snow with my kids, feet stayed dry. Nice and comfy. Speed lacing works and haven't had a problem thus far.

Nice Trail Runner
This is my second pair. It is very comfortable and the build quality is excellent. I think it runs slightly larger than normal, but still fits very well. I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a light, comfortable and high performance train running shoe.
