By removing the waterproof bootie and membrane construction, the new Salomon XT Wings Running Shoes for men is lighter, so you can fly farther, faster, stronger. As you bolt out the door for your favorite terra trail run, you'll be flowing effortlessly with unparalleled speed and agility across the varied terrain. The gusseted tongue with asymmetrical Quicklace™ System and all around Sensifit™ hugs the foot precisely as you come down off the mountain. A responsive triple-density EVA cushioned midsole is wrapped in a rubber belt and mud guard for dry protection, while the Agile Chassis Skeleton ensures smooth heel-to-toe transitions and side-to-side stability. Bounding downhill as you skip over the occasional log or boulder, the Contagrip® outsole maximizes speed by collecting your heel strike energy and transferring it back during push-off. A breathable Ortholite® insole with an anti-bacterial treatment keeps your foot cool and comfortable during the long haul.

Shoes are very comfortable with generous padding, especially in the heel. They appear to run a little small in length. I ordered up 1/2 size and the fit great.

I have worn other Salomon models more for lifestyle than function. I tried the XT Wings hoping I would get a good hard surface running shoe with great looks. Have been a long distance runner for a long time. I am pleased with its cushioning, stability, and light weight. Very impressive.

I have used a number of other brands over the past decades. Salomon XT wings both regular and waterproof (WP) far exceeded my expectations. no water seepage on the WP's and the regular are better for spring, summer, and fall when it is not as cold. Can wear either smartwools lightweight running socks or their heavier "hiking" socks. for warmth. Would not buy any other shoes.

I wasn't sure how I'd like a running shoe from Salomon, but they didn't disappoint. My last several shoes have been the Salomon XA Pro 3D and those things are bullet proof. Same goes for the XT Wings. These shoes have proved worthy of trail running or road running. They have solid support and the quick laces are the best. Salomon is the shoe for me.

This is my first pair of Salomon shoes and so far am very impressed. They provide awesome side to side support something I feel you don't find in Nike, Adidas, etc etc. I have had quick laces on Snowboarding boots but never on a running shoe and am impressed so far on the ability to keep my shoe from loosening over time. Would suggest these shoes to any of my friend

This is my second pair of XTs. Good control in wet conditions. The shoes have great cushion, and are very durable.
