Boots that fit my duck feet!!!!!

I have been on a search for boots that fit my wide feet well for 5 years plus. Call them duck feet, Barney Rubble/Fred Flintstone feet, whatever..., they are triangle shaped, thick, and hard to fit. I'm only 5'3", 118 lbs, and wear size 7 - 7 1/2 shoes in womens. A typical solution for me is to purchase boys shoes in size 6, but high quality hiking boots are not available in boys or small mens sizes. I discovered Salomon trail runners two years ago and purchased Salomon hiking boots (size 7) last summer to do Grand Canyon rim to rim. They were great, but I still had to pre-install blister bandages on my big toes to prevent blisters on the downhill, even with sock liners. This year I was determined to continue the search for a perfect boot. I tried on MANY pairs in all available stores in 2 towns, online ordered 8 pairs including 3 labeled as "wide width", and Salomon won again. This time I ordered the size 7 1/2 so my toes are in a little wider area of the toebox. Of all the brands tried including Keen, Merrell, Patagonia, Scarpa, Oboz, Zamberlan, Vasque, Lowa, and others in prior years, Salomon by far has the most room in the toebox. This pair also does not rub on my ankles or cut in at the back of my leg. I've done several training hikes in them on sharp rocky terrain and they are wonderful. I expect they'll be great for Whitney later this summer. PS - don't let this writeup be a negative if you don't have wide feet. My husband and father-in-law have normal width, fairly flat feet and both are wearing Salomon boots also. They have great cushioning and a great lacing system that makes them adaptable for a broad range of fit.

Bought these for my wife, so she'd have a well fitting, support hiking boot. She has found it with the Salonmom Womens Comet 3D GTX hiking boot. She absolutely loves these! Highly recommended for the fit and quality.
