I took my first pair on a trip to rural China. I liked that they had the comfort and protection of a running shoe, but were waterproof like a rubber swim shoe. I am on my 2nd pair. These shoes are the best! And honestly, can you beat the price?

Great shoe for water and land
Got this shoe for kayaking and an upcoming trip to Galapagos islands. They are very comfortable on land and in water. True to size. Also great to wear when traveling because they easily slip off at security when you wear them heel down. Great buy!

Great shoes. Excellent fit and support.
Wore the shoes kayaking yesterday & they were great. Lots of support and protection. Water drained fast. No residual sand. I am diabetic and need total foot coverage, so these shoes fit the bill while being light weight and quick drying. Excellent fit and arch support.

Hightly recommended.
Very compfortable light weight shoes. I wear them on a daily basis. My husband and daughter now own ones too. Your feet are never hot in them and what's nice about them is that you can slip into them easily without the hasssle of laces and if you prefer you could lower the heal and walk with them as you do with your slippers. No need to hesitate in buying those shoes.

GREAT, comfortable, light-weight water shoes!
I had been looking for a pair of light-weight water shoes b/c although everyone raves about Keen, I own a pair and find them bulky and heavy. These Salomon shoes are excellent. They are comfortable and have a custom-fitting system that allows you to tighten the heal and the over-all shoe to comfort. This I LOVE because I have narrow feet. My husband, who has wide feet, also can fit in these but he doesn't need to tighten the heel or over-all shoe. I like the fact that there aren't any laces, also. The great thing that I discovered just yesterday is that they don't slip when walking over rocks near streams. I always had a traction problem with other water-type shoes, but these grip VERY nicely and allowed me to leap from rock to rock without losing my footing. They are SO light-weight, which is a plus to me b/c I want to be able to slip them on and grab them and put them in my hiking bag at a moment's notice. They run one size larger. My husband wears a 15, but the size 14 fits him perfectly.

Great for my use.
I live in the tropics and this shoe does the job for me. I wear it with a very thin cotton liner sock walking in high temperatures/humidity. My feet are always happy and cool even after hours of city walking.

I love mine!
These shoes are perfect for everyday wear as well as hiking, and other low mileage outdoor activities. Not only do they look great but they are functional as well. I love mine - I'm wearing them out. We gave them out as Christmas presents and everyone else loves theirs too! I have only heard positive things about them, they are amazing.

Used these in the Galapagos, from wading to hiking they were perfect,Dried out quickly and were even comfortable hiking shoes when wet.They were excellent on Lava fields. I love them for all events.

Super shoe
Love this shoe. I also wore them in Costa Rica a couple of weeks ago when visiting my daughter and she loved them and kept them. They are perfect for the hot, sticky rainy season. I had to order another pair for myself when I got home.

Awesome Shoes - Will Not Disappoint
I have enjoyed wearing these shoes on the weekends while running around town. They are so comfortable...I just love them! I purchased them for an upcoming trip to the Frio River (in Texas) and now they will perform beautifully. I am no stranger to Solomon shoes...I have owned many pairs and have never been disappointed. They provide excellent traction and stability for those tough hikes and look cool just wearing around town. I look forward to hiking the Subway and the Narrows (Zion National Park) in the near future wearing these shoes. They will be perfect for that type of terrain.

One Great Shoe
I thought I am going to put these shoes to the test. I wore them hiking the first day. I loved them they were so light on my feet and the fit was fabulous no slipping because you can tighten up the heel of the shoe. Then I wore them tubing down a river with many rocks of all sizes. Gosh they were comfortable and I didn't slip or cut my feet. Then when I got out they dryed so fast. I also loved all the different colors they come in. I think I am going to get another pair in a different color. I also wore them kayaking. They were great. Thanks for making such a great pair of multi-purpose shoes.

I love these shoes!
I got these shoes because I work at a summer camp and am in and out of the river frequently. They are comfortable as hiking shoes, but just a comfortable in the water. They can be worn with or without socks, and I swear they make my feet look smaller. I got the white and blue pair, and I wear them all the time. It took a little while to get used to the heel on one of the shoes, but the adjustable heel strap makes it easy to have a looser fit when needed. I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for lightweight hiking/river shoes.

Keep your feet cool...
This is actually my second pair. I loved the first ones so much that I just had to get another pair. My first pair are about 5 years old and are still wearable, just a little beat up looking. I originally bought the shoes for around the water but now I even wear them to work in the summer. We have a closed toe shoe policy and these do the trick but aren't too warm like regular shoes. Just be careful with the mesh siding; I wore my first pair in some brush and ripped one on the mesh windows on a branch.

Great shoes!
These are great shoes - I bought them for a vacation in Costa Rica & they were wonderful. I wore them in the rain forests & waterfalls. They have enough support in the soles that they were also comfortable enough to hike in. I would definitely recommend them for anyone who is looking for a light, airy & comfortable shoe.

Great Kayaking Shoe
I kayak in gulf coast bays where there are lots of oysters and things to cut your feet. These shoes are sturdy enough for protection, but water drains instantly so your feet don't feel wet and heavy. Comfortable, too. Bought my 1st pair 2 years ago -laces finally broke.Two years is a good life span for ANYTHING in salt water.

Great Water Shoe
This will be a great water shoe, but I wore them with a pair of socks and they looked just like fine and they were cooler. My sister and I each got a pair and absoluely love them. The sizing seemed to be right on so order what you usually wear. My sis and I highly recommend these.

Best shoe & Best service
I purchased the shoes for a water aerobic class. I look at shoes marketed for the water aerobics but they are soooooo ugly. The shoes arrived in 3 days fit great and look great. I have recommended the shoe and the sercive from Altrec to many of the women in my class.

Good fit, great color...
I actually returned a pair of white-&-Blue Merrell's when these arrived...not only are they comfortable, but the color makes it possible to wear them unobstrusively with shorts, etc. Looking forward to the first kayak trip in them.

Purchased for warm water vacation
I purchased the shoes for an upcoming warm water vacation. I never purchased shoes online before, however the live chat with the staff of Altrec insured a great fit. I like the adjustable heel it appears when they are wet I can have confidence they will stay on my feet.

I am very happy with the fit and color. I am having a problem with the sliding lace. I use these for water aerobics and they work great. The sliding lace is a little bulky and gets in the way. Other than that they fit perfectly

Good shoe for wet, lower mileage days.
The shoe drains water well and dries quickly as advertised. The sliding lacing system is slightly difficult to get used to, but tradeoff for no more lace worries is worth it. The fold down heel which converts it to a camp slipper is a nice additional feature. I find it good for hiking in and around streams. Upper limit for mileage seems to be about 8 miles before my feet aren't happy in them.

Good on rocks but not algae-covered ones.
Great water shoe, drains well. I wore it on an eleven mile hike down in the Waimea Canyon (Kauai, Hawaii) along the river. There were several river crossings and the shoe worked well on dry rocks but was slippery on the algae-covered rocks. They were very comfortable, I had no blisters. The shoes are true to size. If you usually wear an 8, order that size. I wore Cool-max socks with the shoe so they dried fast also.

Disappointing
I bought the shoes as a last resort as I couldn't find all the features I needed for my trip in BWCA Wilderness. I ended up with bandaids plastered all over my feet to protect the areas where they rubbed in spite of having them as loose as I could to keep them from falling off. The fold down heel feature was tortuous as it was like walking on wadded up straps. They kept out major sticks and big rocks but most portage landings had lots of sediment and small debris which made their way into the shoe bed. The traction was good for all but the most slippery of rocks and did well on the long portages carrying a canoe and full pack. (ensuring of course I had the bandaids all in the right place). Fairly easy to get on and off in a hurry. Dried fast which also made it easier to remove the insole to get rid of the leaf and small stick debris that accumulated I relied on the reviews from several websites before I made my choice with reservations. Unfortunately they just didn't measure up for a good water shoe for the task I needed them for.
