These shoes are a nice improvement over the standard road running shoes I had been using. They're heavier and less flexible than what I'm used to, but the strike plate makes the rocky, muddy, root-studded trails I run feel so much smoother while the traction helps me keep my footing. I'm a serious under pronator with high arches and a midfoot-tending-to-forefoot strike; I have had issues with my feet rolling over (supinating), especially early on in a run, and would not be able to wear these shoes without arch inserts.

The tread on these trail shoes is very effective on the steep, dry, rocky trails I like to run. The tread is also durable. If you usually wear New Balance trail shoes, you may want to buy these in a half size larger.
