High End Boots
March 06, 2012

these boots are perfect for overall technical climbing. It stands well on small edges and works perfect in long hiking. I feel comfortable, a bit snug in the wheel and toes though. you will not go wrong with these boots. Size are accurate.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Cost

Great technical ice boots
May 03, 2011

Have worn the Phantoms 8 times ice climbing with moderate to long approaches. The lacing system makes entry and exit very fast and easy. The boots are warm and have sufficient toe volume for toe warmers on very cold days. I ordered 42 instead of my normal size 43. Put thinsulate insoles in and still had a good fit. One problem is the lacing. The bottom lock-off works great but the laces are stiff, too short and difficult to tie, so they loosen at the top when walking and climbing. My solution was to buy a plastic cord lock for the ends of the laces. Was able to lock them off and keep them tight.
