Description of Arc'teryx: Women's Theta AR Jacket
If extended trips or a job as a guide place you in the outdoors rain or shine, then a tough, storm proof jacket, like the Arc'teryx Women's Theta AR is an unbeatable choice. It features the new Gore-Tex® Pro Shell, a fabric that breathes better, lasts longer, and is even lighter than the materials used in the previous version of this popular jacket. In fact, this year's version is significantly lighter than in years past, offering a greater level of comfort and packability. Crammed with features to satisfy even the most hardcore mountaineer or backcountry skier, the Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket makes up for any excess weight this may add by employing industry leading innovations, such as micro seam allowances and tiny Gore® seam taping. But toughness and saving weight isn't all that this jacket is about. Waist and hem drawcords, articulated elbows, and no-lift gusseted underarms allow for full range of motion while blocking cold drafts and spindrift. Laminated zippers and bonded soft grommets contribute to the jacket's supple feel, and the one hand pull cords are exceedingly convenient when one hand is busy tending to a belay.

Perfect I wore it yesterday in an all-day-long down pour and stayed dry as a bone. It is excellent at blocking the wind and keeping you dry. Plus its the lightest piece of outerwear that I own.

Wonderfully made hard-working product The craftsmanship of Arc'teryx is hard to argue with. The prices are steep and getting this on sale was a great find!
It has simple lines and not too many "bells and whistles" which makes it extremely versatile. I have had it on daily since it arrived, and expect that it will hold up for many years to come.

Arc'teryx has the best quality I bought this jacket because I was moving to New Zealand and was going to do a lot of outdoor stuff in raining conditions. This jacket is the best hardshell I have ever owned. I bought a size bigger because I usually put a few layers under it. It fits very nicely compared to a lot of other woman's jacket. The sleeves are long enough. Well worth the extra money as I have been staying dry every time I wore it.

Hot Jacket! This is definately the most I've ever spent on a jacket, but it's been great for everything. I've used it snowboarding and hiking. While all of my friends were cold on the hills this winter, this jacket with a light Polartec fleece kept me warm and dry. The length is great and I especially liked having the hood on those windy days. Love this jacket!

light and cutting edge I bought this jacket for my daughter. She loves it. Very light and cutting edge. Only complaint is that she would like it to have a zip away hood like my (discontinued) Theta LT

Functional Jacket The Thata AR jacket fits very well, looks stylish, and most importantly, assures that you'll stay dry during your outdoor endeavours. Whether it be skiing or hiking/backpacking, you can depend on this jacket. People often quesetion why Arc'teryx costs more, but when you own one, you'll know it's because their cutting edge designs, quality materials and attention to details makes great functional products.

It's Arcteryx, isn't it! Arcteryx' workmanship, attention to detail and unsurpassed quality are all invested in this jacket. While styling/trendiness is never Arcteryx' goal, it always seems to set the standard in everything and the imitators (North Face, Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear etc) are constantly struggling to catch up!

TERRIFIC ! JUST RETURNED FROM A CRUISE TO ALASKA AND USE MY NEW JACKET WHILE
HELICOPTER RIDING ON GLACIER BAY! WORKED BEAUTIFULLY.
THE JACKET HAS A COMPLICATED SYSTEMS OF PULL CORDS THAT I COULD HAVE USED AN EXPLANATION FOR...WOULD RECOMMEND THESE INSTRUCTIONS BE INCLUDED IN THE VARIOUS TAGS. THIS IS A GOOD INVESTMENT FOR AN ALL AROUND RAIN/WEATHER JACKET

Outstanding style and comfort The Act'teryx Theta AR jacket not only successfully wards off the wind and cold, but it is amazingly light weight and very stylish. No more bulky jackets for me when snowshoeing or skiing. Without question, this high-tech jacket is well worth its price....

Best Gore-Tex XCR Jacket This is the best Gore-Tex XCR out there, beats other brands like Mountain Hardware and Marmot hands down. It's good looking, very light and fits perfectly. I wear it in all kinds of weather and it always works great. If you only buy one jacket, this is the one to own. It is expensive, but definitely worth the money. The longer you wear it, the more you'll appreciate it.

Arc'teryx, the Armani of Gore-Tex We bought two of these jackets and got them for an good price we think. The jackets fit perfectly. I am 186cm and slim, she is 177cm and slim. We went for medium and small. The jackets are light weight, roomy and tight at the same time. The arms are long enough and the hood is big enough for a helmet. Everything is well thought out and it feels and looks like... the Armani of Gore-Tex. We have only tried them in days of heavy rain so far, but they have kept us completely dry. And they breath very well. Very happy. Can't wait for winter. We also bought some Arc'teryx pants on sale. Same thing. Great poducts, great value. We could maybe wish for a snow skirt, but with tall pants that should not be a problem. The jackets have great tightening features around hips and waist. The pockets are not the largest I've seen, but big enough. I don't think you can go wrong with these jackets :)

The best shell money can buy The fit and motion of the jacket are amazing. The seams, zippers, and pockets are very well designed. This jacket will work for all sports in the winter and summer. It's made to carry backpacks, and still keeps out driving rain. The best jacket I've ever owned. If you see it on clearance, it won't be there for long....

I love it. I love my Theta AR. The fit is impeccable and it never fails at its' job - keeping the wind, rain, and snow out. I looked at other shells when deciding what to buy and this one is definitely the best. Worth every cent.

great fit, great look Love this jacket! It's not too bulky, amazingly waterproof, cute design, and extremely functional. Layered, it is great for skiing, otherwise it is a perfect back country jacket. Pockets are nicely placed.

Best of the Gore Tex After much searching to replace a worn but loved Eddie Bauer jacket, I was convinced by a co-worker that Arcteryx is the Next Great Thing. He was right.
The construction is flawless, the fit is marvelous, and this baby keeps out the rain as well as the wind, so I highly recommend getting it slightly larger than normal so you can wear a fitted fleece under it during the winter.
Best part, of course? All of the stares and comments that I get: it's form is almost better than it's function.
NB: regarding size, the small was perfect for me (size 8 on top), although the sleeves were a hint short. I went medium and it's perfect for layering without billowing on its own.

Theta AR Jacket This is a great jacket! Plenty of pockets, very good two tone colors. The Theta jacket blocks the rain snow wind very well. I would highly recommend the hard shell. Arc'teryx makes one of the best 3 ply waterproof jackets out there.
