Love this jacket
May 29, 2009
Love this jacket, its compact and great for everything. I use it all the time and would like to get another.
Everyone should have one of these!
July 30, 2012
I have bought one of these for each member of my family (the men's version for my husband and the kids version for my boys). We keep them in the car, the stuff sack is small and is great in your backpack too for traveling. I bought the purple and it is a very pretty color. Totally keeps out wind and rain with room to layer underneath when cold out.
Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great valuePerfect for its purpose
July 12, 2009
This light weight, easy to pack rain/wind jacket was very handy on our trip. Great color, perfect for rain and winds. Only area that I'd like to see changed is the way the hood fits - not flexible to size and latch doesn't hold well. Otherwise, loved it.
nice jacket
December 21, 2009
very lightweight, packable and easy to layer underneath. Purchased the coat for my mom--she thinks the sizes run small...
Great rain jacket for the money
August 08, 2011
This jacket is excellent value! It packs really small, weighs nothing and protects against wind and rain. Took it out on a hike and was very pleased witht the performance. I would highly recommend this product.

Runs a tiny bit small
January 17, 2009
Nice jacket, attractive design, but runs a bit small. I usually wear an extra small or small in shirts, and since this is a shell I obviously planned to layer it over a fleece jacket or other similar layer. It's cut just a little tight in the shoulders, and the sleeves are just a little short for comfortable layering. I would have returned it for a medium, but they were sold out.
Great price, color, and quality.
March 12, 2008
The jacket was just what I needed, a light breathable water-proof jacket for heading to class.
Awesome quality lightweight jacket!!
March 27, 2012
Even though I returned this jacket because I wanted something that was more "fitting" I suppose, the actual fit IS great, and I really like that the cuffs are elastic. Awesome array of color choices too.
Love this Jacket
March 07, 2012
I recently purchased the Sierra Designs Women's Microlight Jacket in an Extra Small and in the blue. I must say I absolutely LOVE IT! It fits perfectly and I am 5"1 and 3/4 and a true petite so finding the perfect fit is almost impossible. This Jacket also is so light weight I once forgot I had it on, lol:) It is breathable and waterproof and that is exactly what I needed. It it small enough to fit in your pocket, but it does come with a waterproof sac that clips onto the outside pocket. Another Feature worth the purchase are the two inside pockets, so my phone and other personal belongings stay dry on rainy days. I recommend this jacket to anyone who wants something light wight and not bulky! Perfect Purchase!!!

Worth it
September 06, 2012
Light, packable, and a great color! Layered with a fleece beneath, this shell kept out the cold and rain and did exactly what it is supposed to do. It looks like this shell is in for the long haul!

Great for the price.

Jacket great for the price. True to size.
Great rain jacket
May 26, 2010
Fits well, looks good, very easy to pack and perfectly rain proof. Just got it a couple weeks ago and have already used it a lot. I like it so much and it's so easy to pack that I've found myself bringing it along even when there's only a slight chance of rain.

Great rain jacket/windbreaker
July 01, 2009
This jacket meets my expectations for a rain jacket/windbreaker. I usually wear a S or M top and bought this jacket in a M due to previous reviews. It fit perfect (and I have long arms). I am happy with this jacket. It fits well and folds up into a handy little bag which makes it easy when traveling. I have yet to wear it in the rain, but it works well as a windbreaker.
Packable Lightweight Jacket
April 15, 2011
I purchased this jacket for a trip to Europe and it turned out to be everything I was looking for - lightweight, packable, and windproof. This jacket really came through when we got caught unexpectedly in a windy, downpour in Paris. It took up no room at all in my day pack and was much more convenient than an umbrella. I especially liked the adjustable waist drawcord for keeping out the wind.
Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Great valueMeh...
March 08, 2011
Looks & feels like it would work in a pinch. Definitely lightweight and easily packable. Zipper stuck in several places. The shape is kind of big and boxy - not very feminine. Might have kept it as a back up if it were half the price.
Excellent value, well made, really cute too!
January 19, 2010
I was delighted with my purchase. I believe it is true to size and description. The item is well made an attractive.
great for rainy hikes
July 23, 2012
Had chance to test this jacket right away. Hiking in a rain with wind up on top of the mountain - jacket saved me! Jacket fits in attached pouch - very convenient! I would recommend this jacket

Great jacket for price
July 24, 2009
Love the jacket - the fit is almost perfect, only problem is the sleeves are so tight that they "shorten up" on you. I find that I have to keep pulling them down.
January 24, 2012
This rain jacket is awesome I love it!! It fits great, easy to carry around because it is super light, it comes with a carry bag and i love the color.
Pros: Great design, Great valueNICE PRODUCT!
March 05, 2013
Is very inexpensive. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear. Good waterproof. Very satisfied with the product.
Pros: Build quality, Cons: CostLove it
July 13, 2010
I'm 5'7 with an average build and long arms and I ordered the medium. It fits perfect. As other reviewers have stated, it doesn't breathe super well but I love the pouch. The jacket easily fits in a purse or backpack.
Great for light rain
August 19, 2009
Great, light jacket for unexpected wet weather. I use when biking, running, hiking, etc. Packs down light. I wear another one for around town to work because I don't want to wear the one I sweat in. Downfall for this one is that there are NO pitzips. I wish it had it for when I go running. Maybe I'll make my own :)

Great outer layer
August 27, 2012
This jacket came just in time for a rainy camping weekend. I was not expecting it to be waterproof, just resistant. I was very dry and very warm wearing it as an outer layer over a sweatshirt. It is super comfortable and easy to clean.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueExcellent performance!
August 09, 2012
I am a Asian woman who wears small size, and usually it is hard to find a "true-to-size" outdoor wear here in U.S., but this fits me perfectly! Perfect for the windy day for hiking or trekking.

perfect for college student
January 02, 2010
My college student daughter wanted something to carry with her to class to wear over fleece for wind and rain. She loves this jacket...bought it in two colors.

Perfect for the Need
May 12, 2009
this doubles as a windbreaker and rain slicker. It doesn't SOUND loud every time you move like some of the outdoor fabrics these days! fit is 'forgiving' ie near flattering. Can use for a night out in the City or weekend camping in the boonies compact for travel too.
Super Lightweight
March 25, 2008
It packs very small into it's own little stuff sack. I leave it in my climbing pack just in case I run into any unexpected rain or wind. I originally purchased a size XS and realized that it was going to be hard to fit over layers, so I wound up exchanging it for a size small and now it fits great.
Very nice
July 01, 2012
I like the look and it's very light weight. Fits well and definitely keeps me dry.I can wear this jacket for anything. Whether it be for an early morning run or hiking in the rain. I also love how small it can fold up and how quickly it is dry again.
GREAT QUALITY BUY FOR PRICE!
March 31, 2012
I bought this jacket for my daughter. She is very particular about her clothing and she loves the fit, water repellent level and the wind resistance it provides. The color is great and she is very pleased with it overall. The price was super in comparison to other products she found like it. We would highly recommend the jacket to friends.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Great valueWomen's Microlight Jacket
December 05, 2010
I purchased this jacket for my daughter on sale. Received a different color and jacket in error. I had to return it. Altec quickly sent the correct order. My daughter would recommend it to others.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of usePerfect for Traveling
June 25, 2009
I bought this jacket with me to Costa Rica during their "green"/rainy season. It was light weight so I could carry it around with me while hiking and it kept me dry. Fit true to size. If you're going to be wearing a couple layers underneath the jacket, may want to go a size up. Perfect for warm weather.
Light Rain Jacket
August 10, 2012
The jacket is very light, almost like a poncho. A compartment is included, which the coat fits into easily. I don't think it would be very warm, but it could be useful as a waterproof outer layer
Pros: Ease of useNovember 15, 2010
Very nice jacket, unfortunately had to return it for a larger size. I bought this for my wife and the cinder color looked like a beautiful brown, in reality it is a greenish brown, not bad, but not exactly as pictured. Going with black next.
Pros: Great design, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: color discrepanciesWrite a review for the Sierra Designs Microlight Jacket here.
Good little jacket!
May 12, 2012
It is a compact & nice jacket. I love the color and lightness of it. This is good to pack in your luggage when you go on the spring or summer trip. So far, it is a good wind blocking, light rain repelling jacket.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuegreat light weight packable item
April 24, 2012
I am a tech clothing gear head. Bought this for the price and color for a San Miguel de Allende trip with no hiking involved, but in case the weather turned from hot to rainy- and it did. Worked well, in a short downpour kept me dry without turning into a sauna coat. Great little item for the price, weight and stylish color. Maybe not for the great wet Alaskan outdoors but perfect for the purpose for which I bought it.
Pros: Performance, Ease of use, Great valueperfect for rainy weather
November 28, 2009
Really light and easy to wear and carry. Love the green earthy color. Perfect for Washington rain.
Great light weight rain jacket
April 08, 2011
I got this rain jacket for a backpacking trip, so I wanted something very light weight. It is super light, but still good quality. It's comfortable and I like wearing it. I am about 5'5" and 128lbs and a Medium fit perfectly with room for layers underneath. I'm very happy with the jacket, expecially for the price.

super
July 02, 2010
I used this jacket in Costa Rica. It was perfect to keep the rain off but not keep the heat in. Packed away nicely when not needed.
expensive for just a rain coat
July 21, 2009
Its nice, it does what its suppose to. I feel that $50 for a rain coat is way overpriced. But I needed one, what can you do. - I like that I can roll it into a bag and throw it in my purse.

Great for backpacking
June 11, 2009
Very light, does alright in even relatively heavy rain (no monsoons, though). Fits easily in a pack, pretty durable. Get one size up for arm length, the body should still fit pretty well.
Awesome rain jacket
March 09, 2009
It works for the rainy season in SF where I live. With the light weight, it's very convenient to keep in my purse or backpack. Easy to dry out and you will never get wet in the soaking rain wearing this jacket!! I bought it size M (normally I wear size S), it is perfectly fit me;)
Great Compact Rain Jacket
July 13, 2009
Nice and compact with a stuff sack for easy packing.
perfect shell
March 17, 2010
I needed a light rain jacket to wear over my regular jacket or clothing and this was perfect. I was looking at different shells and I liked this one the best because it had elastic around the wrists and I needed something that I could wear while using my hands without it getting in the way. Perfect for what I was looking for.
Not for tall, slender people
April 13, 2009
I am 5'9" 125 pounds. If you are built like this, do not buy it. A Medium was too short and wide. I can't imagine a Large being any better. Good for leaving in your trunk, boat, or book bag.
great for traveling
May 15, 2009
Lightweight but strong!
Fits well and looks great
May 31, 2010
Well made, attractive and the right price. I love this jacket!
The 'just in case' jacket
April 24, 2008
This jacket is great, for what it is. Don't expect it to hold up to serious rain. But I have carried mine around the world because it is small enough to throw in my travel, hiking or climbing pack and take everywhere with me 'just is case.' The hood is key.
Gets the job done
May 10, 2010
If you're looking for a rain coat simply to keep you dry without anything extra this is it. I got this for college to wear to class on rainy days and it's perfect. It stows in a tiny bag when you don't need and keeps you nice and dry when you do need to pull it out. But if you're looking for a multi-purpose everyday kind of coat, this isn't it. It is better for layering because it's just a shell and it doesn't breath too well. But overall, a great coat for travel or just for rain!
great jacket!
August 24, 2009
Packs up small. Perfect for summer hiking.
