Seirra Designs mocs
January 12, 2011
I bought these to use as camp mocs when backpacking during cold months. They are comfortable, though a tad bit snug, though I think they will stretch out with use. They are warm and pretty lightweight. 8oz. for a pair of size mediums.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

I was excited to buy this gift for my husband. He had a pair of down booties when he was a kid and this was all he asked for for Christmas. When they arrived I was disappointed to find a pair of foot covers with hardly any "poof" and the soles were hard as a rock. Not the cumfy down booties I was expecting...bummer!

I usually wear men's 10.5 or 11 - according to the manufacturer, that translates into "Large". However, the large ones are too small for me. (Slightly too short, to be precise). Apart from that they seem nice. Some cordura (?) in the front to protect the toe region against wear. The soles don't look like they would hold up to extended outdoor use, but I suppose that's not their intended use anyway.

I bought these as slippers for around my home because I have problems with cold hands and feet as well. I had to exchange them because the first pair ran small for the stated size so be aware of that. I ordered the next size up and now that I have received them and worn them for a week I am extremely happy with them. These are to date the warmest slippers I have ever had. They look like little down jackets on my feet but I'm not going for stylin' slippers I'm going for warmth and they provide that absolutely. Highly recommend if you are looking for warm feet.Pros: extremely warm, Cons: not the most stylish looking
Great for home and camp
March 14, 2012
I have worn these moccasins both around the house and while in camp. They make great camp shoes in dry weather but i had my reservations about the soles during wet weather. Great for hanging out around in the tent though or making a quick bathroom break. The soft material around the ankle keeps them comfortable even if your barefoot. I have even worn them inside my sleeping bag to keep my feet warm. They are a bit expensive but well worth the money in my opinion. Watch out as they are prone to make your feet sweat sometimes!Pros: warm, light, Cons: expensive, cause your feet to sweat
Cozy moccasin, fits small
April 01, 2012
My husband had to order up a size as it was too difficult to get his foot into the moccasins. He is pleased with the larger size. Well constructed shoe that keeps his feet toasty. Will be using as post-hiking, camp/tent shoes.
December 26, 2010
This was the one thing my husband wanted for Christmas because he'd had a pair of Shootsies for more than 20 years that were worn out and held together w/duct tape. However when he tried on the XL size, they were too smaill for his size 13 feet so I had to return them. I can't review for comfort or durability since he can't wear them at all. The quality doesn't seem as good as the old pair that has the suede leather sole. They're very light weight. Too bad they aren't offered in an XXL size.
Men's Down Moccasins
January 28, 2012
I liked these shoes but I did return them due to the fact that they were too small. They only come in sizes of S,M,L,XL,XXL, etc. I ordered mine directly by the sizing chart provided by Online Shoes and I came in as a large but when the slippers arrive they were way too small. More like a medium. I wanted to keep them badly b/c I like them but this was the second attempt for a pair of slippers and I had to pay return freight on both pairs. Had I ordered another and they didn't fit I would have as much in freight cost as I did in the shoes themselves. If you do order this pair be sure to order at least one size larger if not two.Pros: warm, comfortable, economical, Cons: sized incorrectly
comfort in the great outdoors
March 28, 2012
Great product,Very comfortable,Well made as is most of SD products,I look forward to use them on my next backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevadas, take off the old boots and slip on some comfort
January 11, 2011
The product is good so far in fit, comfort, & durable. The only problem was the construction, the stitching in the back of the left shoe came apart. I stitched it back together with dental floss, so it might be more durable. If the other shoe has the same problem I will do the same. I've only had it about a month, but I wear them everyday. I them bought on sale.Pros: Great design, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: fair quality
So far...so good!
December 09, 2011
Just arrived today & I'm glad I read the reviews. I also bought 1 size large than shoe size and good thing as these do run small. But I gotta say for the first day, wow, hope the soles hold up because these are very comfortable and warm to me!! I must have gotten a stuffed pair, and I like it!! I'm usually a size 8 so I got the medium and they just fit perfectly. My feet sunk into the soles and they feel molded to my foot, cool... my only worry is that with use the soles won't hold up and they become smashed and uncomfortable as some sole can. But right now- Happy camper yes indeed.Pros: warm, finger hook, comfortable, nice looking, Cons: footbed durability a concern
Sierra Designs: Men's moccasins
January 04, 2011
The slippers are well made with a sturdy, non-slip sole. The down filled fabric is light weight, but full. However, the slipper runs small, a men's M is short and snug. My husband is a size 9 street shoe and it was short. The slipper was also short on my foot, a women's 81/2. The slipper was difficult to get on due to the narrow neck, my husband struggled. The fit was tight for me as well, however not as much effort. It was not an easy on and off slipper. I was disappointed- the search continues.Pros: Build quality, Cons: Bad design, small entry point
December 25, 2010
Quality is excellent & they're very warm but they run small. Order up at least one size.
February 28, 2012
I've had these about a month and I really like them. Very warm, great for long drives or throwing on when the ski boots come off. Non-skid bottoms have come in handy a couple of times too. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is that I think the sizing chart is a little off... They run very tight, I would recommend going up a size.Pros: warm, Cons: check sizing
XL too small for 10.5 dress shoe
July 31, 2011
I wear a men's size 10.5 dress shoe, size 11 in running, and the XL down moccasin was small, toes where hitting the front while wearing a light dress sock. I would need a XXL.Pros: looks well built, Cons: runs small
Well worth the $

This was the best purchase of the season for me. My house has a draft at the floor level and my feet were always cold. Now that I have the moccasins, my feet are toasty warm all day. A friend who has these moccasins (size M) and the same size feet as I do recommended I get the large moccasins. My feet are size 10 (US) and the large pair fits great. The sole is a nice feature. They fit the bill perfectly around the house. I should have bought these years ago!Pros: Great value, weigh little but well insulated
Perfect for around the house when it's cold!
April 06, 2012
The Sierra Designs Men's Down Moccasins are perfect to wear around the house when the weather turns cold. They keep your feet warm and have anti slip soles, so you won't be any "sliding". Order a size up, they run small, other than that, there are no problems with performance or quality.Pros: keep your feet warm, lightweight, easy to clean, comfortable
March 30, 2011
During a cold weekend backpacking, I got water in my boots hiking through a stream. After wringing out all the water I could, I put the damp socks back on and wore them inside my down slippers. The heat generated by wearing these slippers helped dry out my socks and kept my feet warm in camp and provided an extra margin of toasty-ness inside my sleeping bag. The soles stayed relatively debris-free and I wasn't hesitant about keeping the down moccasins on in my sleeping bag. Awesome camp-comfort and added warmth for sleeping. Highly recommended.Pros: warm, comfortable, soles shed dirt
December 31, 2011
I purchased a pair of these at Christmas a year ago and wore them all around the house. Come early spring, they went with me on all of my backpacking trips to be worn in the tent and while sleeping in my sleeping bag. I used to get cold feet when sleeping, but not with these. The down count in these are higher than the packable version of this bootie, which I originally had my eyes on. I went with these over the pack booties that Sierra Designs makes because of the higher down count to keep my feet warm. These booties have a more rugged sole construction than the packable ones which makes it to where you can get up and go to the bathroom at night without taking them off or worrying about puncturing the sole of them. They pack into the backpack just fine. Shop all the other brands and you will probably come back to these because of the higher down count and value.Pros: higher down count, rugged sole contruction, value for money
Black, Espresso, Gator, Raisin and Royal.
Available sizes, while supplies last, include size small, size medium, size large and size extra large: s, m, l, xl.
