Volkl 724 AX3 Motion 1200:
Designed for high speed stability, the AX3 Motion 1200 is a crowd pleaser among advanced skiers, especially those who write reviews for the 2004 Ski Magazine Buyer's Guide. The magazine classified it as a "Player" ski--intermediates and aggressive beginners pushing for the next level. Volkl suggests that it is a "frontside/backside ski for advanced skiers" but we suggest that it has outstanding appeal for both demographics. This version comes dialed in with a Marker Motion 1200 binding, the original ski/binding system that turned the industry on its bindings. Unlike skis that use a binding connection through a series of screws (on average there are 14 of them on standard binding designs) the connection between this ski and binding flex around a solitary (and strong) pin. The result is an amazing flex that's uninhibited by a rigid binding plate, resulting in better control, better edge grip, smooth turns and amazing versatility. Take your skiing to a new level--and if you're already there, enjoy the stability at breathtaking speeds.
