If you liked Head's women's all-mountain Every Thang ski last year, you'll love the new women's Every ONE ski for 2009. If features the same design components as the former Every Thang, but in an honest all-mountain design that's ideal taking on a wide range of snow conditions. Think of it as a female-friendly "quiver-of-one" ski for intermediate and advanced skiers who don't want to pay for or pack along extra skis for changing weather and distinct terrain. It's made with Head's AIRCOAT Hollow Glass Technology, the same light and lively design normally reserved for extra pop in pipe and terrain park skis, but this design element is a custom fit that adds extra agility in a lighter profile for women, who don't have to tolerate the same weight loads and stresses applied by guys on their skis. Head also used their Adaptive Intelligence Technology on the Every ONE, which is an easy way of saying that they put these things called Intellifibers at 45-degree angles in front of the ski bindings, so those mechanical impulses created by bouncing around in hard snow turn into electrical energy that stiffens the Intellifibers. When the Intellifibers turn rigid, you enjoy more control with better rebound and ski torsional stiffness. The cool thing is that Intellifibers only stiffen the Every ONE exactly where you need the extra control on the mountain--and not all the way from the summit to the lodge. Ski magazines lauded Head's Liquidmetal® component in past seasons for the consistent and predictable rebound, but one lesser-known benefit is that the Liquidmetal® is actually liquid, so it doesn't break down like solid molecular ski components that wear out over several seasons of hard use.
