Line Skis Chronic Blend Skis (Fall 06):
Last year you could go Chronic or you could go Chronic Wide, but this season Line's Chronic Blend ski offers the undisputed best of all-terrain freestyle versatility. The ski dimensions and lengths are very similar to the new all-mountain Prophet 90, but the Chronic Blend uses a lighter Carbon Matrix technology (the Prophet 90 has a heavier Metal Matrix) and doesn't use the Freeride directional flex, putting the Chronic Blend firmly in the high-flying all-terrain freestyle category. Carbon Matrix technology is a three-dimensional diecut design that reduces the swing weight while enhancing the edge grip beneath your boots and the torsional responsiveness out along the tips. This means that you enjoy the light profile of a high-flying twin-tip ski with the stability that's essential for clean-shaven berms and hardpack pipes. Because the Chronic Blend has a wider waist than the Chronic, it's also ideal for those untouched backcountry spaces where nature creates the best bumps and lines down the mountain. Other refinements include a Fatty Base & Edge construction that doubles the thickness of the edge and base to withstand miles of rail slides and high-impact missed hits. The extra reinforcement is built around a hard Maple Macroblock made from the highest quality maple wood core laminate material available.
