I love these socks sooo much. I bought them in 3 colors and wore them all winter long. I wear the grey pair most often, and notice that they are wearing thin on the back of the heel where my boots rub against them the most. But for the amount of wear I have gotten out of them, I don't blame them. I am a complete sissy about the cold, and warm socks are what get me through the winter. Smartwool has become one of my favorite words since I discovered these socks. Yes these do fit very snugly, as other reviewers mentioned. And the wide elastic band at the top will probably leave compression marks on your leg, but they will also hold these socks firmly in place all day. I usually wear these under jeans, with my big leather boots. They are not bulky socks, but they will not fit well into 'dress' boots unless the boots leave a little room fit-wise.

I love these knee high Smart Wool socks. The fit is perfect and they keep my feet toasty. Even in the freezing cold weather in Minnesota while I'm wearing a CAM boot as I recovery from a fracture in my foot.

These knee-highs have become my new favorite! I was originally looking for the cable knee-high socks, but could not find them,so I ordered these instead. As soon as I put them on, I knew I had made the right decision to buy them. They have a wonderful cushioned sole, and they stay up all day. I wore them on an early spring day that got warmer than expected, and despite the warm temperature, my feet felt dry and comfortable.

I have been a fan of Smartwool Socks for a while. These are great! I look forward to pairing them with a pair of boots this winter. The gray color will go with both black and brown footwear. And the tops of the socks have high quality elastic to keep them from sliding down.

Smartwool is my favorite brand of sock, and every year I stock up on a few new pairs. I needed knee-highs, and I needed brown socks and these fit the bill. These socks are perfect - they are extremely comfortable and cushy, and most importantly they stay up without strangling my calf. Fit is perfect. This is one of the best everyday, casual socks out there.

These are really great socks. I bought them to wear in my boots so that I could wear a long skirt without having to wear tights. They are a great light/medium weight and stay up well. I love the way they feel so much that I ended up buying them in a number of colours. I also love that they come in basic colours so that they can go with almost everything.

Smartwool is the only brand of socks for me!

I LOVE these socks. I was never able to find knee-high Smartwool socks that were not skiing/snowboard specific until now. These are PERFECT. They are typical, excellent Smartwool quality, and stay up nicely on my skinny calves. I need to get 5 more pairs so I have one for every day of the week.

So far, so good! These are the perfect warmth, comfortable, and they stay in place. I'm very happy with them. I'm ending up wearing them around the house with my bathrobe for a complete comfort outfit!

Thick Socks, not great for dress boots

I love smartwool socks. These socks will keep you warm and comfortable for sure, but I was looking for socks to wear with my frye boots and these are too thick. The toes have extra material, which makes the boots feel too tight on my toes. So while I would totally recommend these for outdoor activities, they are not great for wearing with dress boot which tend to be more narrow than hiking boot.
