I love this beanie! Smartwool makes great products, and this beanie is no exception. It is extremely soft and comfortable. It keeps my head warm but not too hot. It is perfectly snug, and it looks great. No complaints.Pros: Build quality, Performance
The BEST beanie!
November 18, 2010
I am a hat addict and have tons of hats all brands and styles but this beanie is my favorite one. I have it in the car for afternoon walk, it provides perfect warmth. Yesterday, was so windy but my head was warm and cozy. I love it.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
great all-purpose cap
March 28, 2010
Favorite cap. Very warm in the winter, but not too hot in fall and spring. Enough cap to cover your ears when needed. Soft and comfortable. Easy to maintain.
February 17, 2013
Very low profile yet very warm . One of the biggest issues I have with beanies are those that roll up my head as the day goes on. No problems with this one. Tested out with 8 hours outside in 25 degree weather and it worked greatPros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
An Excellent Cuffed Beanie
January 21, 2012
This is the first Smartwool beanie I have bought for my winter running exercises in Boston, where low temperatures, winds and humidity often conspire against you. This beanie thus far has met all my expectations: it's very light yet warm, making me feel comfortable even at 15-10 F; it's thin yet wind-proof, especially when being cuffed; it's snug yet very comfortable and breathable, wicking moisture away from my forehead; it's made of wool yet extremely soft, causing no itching. I would strongly recommend such beanie to anyone who seeks protection from the elements, without compromising comfort and performance.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

This is a great little beanie. Doesn't itch, very warm, nice logo, and the perfect size. Cuff looks great and because it's wool it's nice and cozy warm without the bulk so you can tuck it into a pocket. Bought the black since that's my go to color, but wish they came in red. I checked the box "lasts forever" because I"m sure it will, it's that good quality.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

High quality item that does the job. Great for having in the car for when the weather turns bad.
March 30, 2012
This was purchased as a gift, overall the value was good . My quip is with the appearance, it tends to bunch up on top of the head and isn't quit smooth where it needs to be . The product itself is well made and durable.Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Bad design

Smartwool lives up to its reputation! It is again, warm, light, moist absorbant and easy to pack! Highly recommended!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great value
Our favorite hat!
February 01, 2011
My husband and I love these hats! They are warm and cozy without being bulky. We have five of them between the two of us to keep in cars and use for different activities. The cuff is great so you can adjust it to your liking, long or short, over your ears - never too big or small. If you wash and dry too much, it will get holes (after several washings - I am told that if you do not dry them, you will avoid this problem). Thanks smartwool!!!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Another excellent smartwool product. Love the soft feel on my head as well as the awesome breathability. Also had no smell after a 7 day backpacking trip.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
April 01, 2011
I bought this beanie because I've had great experiences with Smartwool socks and wanted to try their other offerings. First off, this is a basic cuffed beanie, but it's more than basic. It doesn't even feel like your old "scratchy" wool, it's just as soft as a nice cotton t-shirt. Don't let the seemingly thin construction fool you. This beanie kept my noggin' warm down to the lower 30s. In all, I'd recommend it for a nice basic soft and warm beanie.Pros: Build quality, Great value
Great Beanie for Running!
January 17, 2010
The weight of this beanie is perfect for running, and keeps me comfortable with out being too warm and bulky. I love the longer length or cuff it up. I bought two more!
February 20, 2011
I bought this hat for myself, my 6 y.o. son tried it and has been wearing it since. Thin and very sotf material, warm, but I have doubts this is a hat you can wear in extremely cold weather, because of the fact that it is so thin.Pros: Build quality
Happy with my choice
April 12, 2011
I bought the Smartwool Cuffed Beanie to replace my polyester beanie. The Cuffed Beanie is very smooth, light weight, compact, and warm. I just love my new beanie because it keeps me warm in cold and windy weather. It also serves as my sleeping mask (I have the black one) when I take a nap in my car. This beanie breathes well, not hot and sweaty.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, not bulky
Very comfy, not very thick though
November 12, 2008
Perfect for cool fall or spring activities, but not quite thick enough for full day on mountain in the winter. Good fit.
High Quality stuff
December 05, 2010
There seems to be a reason the Smart Wool stuff is more expensive... because it is the best out there in terms of quality and comfort. At first, I thought the Smart Wool brand was over priced but if you keep your eyes peeled at Altrec you can scoop up some great deals on Smart Wool stuff for quite a bit cheaper than other retailers. The SW stuff really is worth the $$$ if you are willing to pay for the best. This hat is no exception. Tight knit keeps the wind out. Light and not bulky. Not itchy. And Smart Wool keeps you dry and warm. This stuff is better than any synthetic fabric out there IMO. Treat yourself to the best and see for yourself. You won't regret it.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
I love this hat.
January 04, 2010
Easily fits in my pocket, not bulky, Perfect for use when I don't have my ski helmet on.
I now own 3 of these...
January 05, 2011
After purchasing one of these and wearing it for a few days, I immediately turned around and ordered two more. The biggest plus for me is the comfort against the skin of my shaved head. The fabric is soft and does not make my skin feel itchy even after 10 hours of continuous wearing. The second thing I like about it is that since it has a longer cuff at the bottom, it rolls down nicely over the ears and stays there without slowly creeping back up like other beanies do.Pros: Great design, very comfortable, Cons: none
Very warm but light weight
October 31, 2012
This is one of the comfiest beanie I've ever had. It's quite warm, but also small and light. It can fit in the pocket of my jacket. I wear this for running. The material is so soft, not itchy at all even when I sweat.
Nice hat for climbing
February 22, 2012
I like this hat for ice climbing. Fits well under a helmet, and over a balaclava. Not too hot, not too cold. Bought a replacement from altrec after losing my first one (5-6 years old).Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever
March 22, 2011
This is my third beanie and I just love it. It's small, warm light and it does not take up space in your coat pocket. Good for traveling. Hardly find it on sale. Worth buying it at full price.Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, not bulky
January 02, 2012
Nice hat not to heavy but still warm. would recommend to friends and family. good quality product at a decent price. I will purchase other Smartwool items in the future.Pros: Build quality, Great value, Cons: Cost
Great Lightweight Cap
February 26, 2011
This is a great lightweight cap that works in a range of temperatures due to the way SmartWool breathes. I'm a bald guy, so when the temps cool off I'm looking for a cap. These caps work really, really well. They're pretty tight fitting, so you don't look like you're over doing in on cool to cold days. In bitterly cold temps, I use something more substantial. However, if you are out in very cold temps and active, this solution may also work for you in those conditions. I love SmartWool.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
January 22, 2013
I found this hat warm and very comfortable, smooth wool. I often put it over my baseball cap. I had recently lost one running for a train, now will be buying two more. Highly recommended.Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great value, comfortable
