Nice peice a little pricey
November 30, 2011
Nicely built piece of clothing. Runs a little big. I am 6' 165lbs and very fit. Ordered the large initially, sent it back for the medium, which fits pretty well. Length is good, but tht sleeves do run long. I have worn it a couple of times, hardly notice you even have it on, accept for the sleeve length which bunches up a little. overall nice shirt, but dont pat full price. get it on sale.
Pros: Performance, Cons: CostAnother great product from Smartwool

I am already a fan of Smartwool because of their PhD socks and this is the first layering product I have tried from the company and once again another great product. It is very comfortable and form fitting with a nice soft texture against the skin. Now that the weather is getting chilly I have used it under T-shirts and button down shirts and it has hit the spot just right. Just as other Smartwool products the build quality is exceptional. I would recommend the Lightweight crew to anyone.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value, comfort, Cons: noneAlready own the Smartwool Lightweight Crew? Tell us your thoughts.
Go-to layer
April 02, 2013
I'm a fan of Smartwool products and this long sleeve crew shirt is my go-to layer for when I plan on being outside for most of the day. I spend early mornings photographing landscapes and this shirt keeps me warm on the cool mornings. You can wear this shirt mulitple days in a row (if you have to!) and it remains smell-free. Only issue would be that it picks up small tears/holes from time-to time, but as much as I use this shirt, I can't really complain.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: Wears quicklyDecember 07, 2012
The Smartwool Men's Crew is a great baselayer. It is extremely soft yet warm and does not itch at all. Great product all around. Love the cut as well with a slightly longer back to tuck in the ski pants. Highly recommend.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityGreat, but a little fragile

I'm a really big fan of the Smartwool lightweight line. It's comfortable and the perfect warmth if you are out moving around in about 20F. I wear this top for winter biking on most days with just a shell on top. Be careful putting it on and taking it off. It's thin and stretchy material and I put my thumb straight through it once.

This top is warm when it needs to be & breathes well when it warms up outside. I work outside daily in the spring & fall & use this top very frequently in temps ranging from 40s up to 60s (have a midweight layer that gets used in the colder temps). Its so much better than any polyester. It works well on the cold days under a windproof softshell & keeps the body cool as the temps raise & the top layer comes off. I can't give enough praise to merino wool- it doesn't hold the stink from working hard, its warm when wet, dries fairly quickly, & is super comfortable against the skin. I am 6', 210 lbs, athletic build, & purchased an XL because I didn't want it to be too tight, but in hindsight I should've gone with a L due to the fact it will stretch out a little when you wear it #but does go back to original size upon washing#. They are a bit pricey, but well worth the investment for me.
