Description

Created with a slightly loose fit, this breathable and lightweight Men's Microweight Boxer from Smartwool is a comfortable alternative to cotton briefs and boxer briefs, especially if you're doing high-impact outdoor activities like backpacking or skiing. The jersey knit fabric is a blend of wicking Merino wool and a touch of Elastane for mobility. Unlike vintage wool fabric, this Merino wool is completely itch-free and feels great. It's also UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rated at 50+, so you don't have to worry about sun protection when you're wearing lightweight travel or fishing shorts. The Microweight Boxer has a loose form fit with a versatile mid-rise profile. Flatlock seams optimize the overall comfort during long days on the trail or in the backcountry. The inseam length varies according to the size you choose, but the Men's Microweight Boxer in medium has an inseam just short of five inches.

Men's Microweight Boxer 4.9 5 36 36
good feel This Boxer is made by WOOL.But very easy to use. Wool material is thought to hand wash and flat dry. But this is able to use washing machine and dryer. I will buy another one. February 1, 2012
expected beter im a fan of smartwooll, the product seemed ok but I had a few issues with the rough feel of the fabric and the seams and stitches are in the wrong places and are rough/itchy. I purchased the Icebreakers Beast briefs instead January 23, 2012
I've worn Smartwool socks for years and thought I'd give their boxers a try. Can't believe I waited so long. These are absolutely the best; soft and strong at the same time. June 17, 2011
Good Product These Merino wool boxer briefs are the best underwear I've every worn. They are comfy, not scratchy and when hiking long distances they protect me from rashes. They can be worn in hot or cold weather, great especially in the cold. They say merino wool keeps you cool in hot weather but that is not my experience. I feel slightly warmer than if i were wearing cotton but it is not uncomfortable. would recommend. April 28, 2011
works like a dream These boxers don't immediately stink after wearing them like synthetics. They maintain their fit whether you've worn them for a long day or you just pulled them out of the dryer. April 15, 2011
Great purchase These boxers were purchased for a five month long trek with varying temperatures and believe they are up for the challenge. The wool is very soft with no itch factor and high breathe-ability. Size medium is perfect for 160 lbs, five foot nine. These are well worth the money and I plan on purchasing several more pair in the future. March 23, 2011
Smartwool boxer I was looking for durable , lightweight base layer for winter hiking . The smartwool boxer has been great for cold weather hiking and everyday use . A little pricey but seems to be very high quality and is holding up very well to machine washing . Amazing product comfortable in cold or inside . February 12, 2011
These fit a bit better than the comparable Icebreaker boxers (at least for me) and don't ride up nearly as much. I love the natural anti-stink properties. January 30, 2011
Highly Recommended I have been a convert to merino boxers for a few years now and the microweight Smartwool product is the best I have tried. They are an ideal fit - neither too baggy or snug -and do not ride up my thighs which is my acid test. For day hikes or longer expeditions they are lightweight, durable and quick drying. Expensive but great value for money. December 22, 2010
Amazing! I bought these for my fiance for field training and he loved them. They completely wick the sweat away. They are pricey but well worth it. He was the only one in the group who avoided heat rashes! Thanks to Smart Wool he stayed dry! December 10, 2010
Smartwool gives you superhero powers. Ok, just kidding. I am a new fan of Smartwool products. These boxers were one of the first Smartwool products I purchased. Once I did, I realized that you get what you pay for. I bought these mainly for canoe/kayak/camping excursions but these would be great even for everyday use if you are spoiled (or rich). After buying these, I have purchased their long underwear, a long sleeve shirt and a cuffed beanie hat. All I can say is that this stuff is awesome. Yes, it is expensive but it is worth it. Go ahead and buy the cheaper stuff and discover that you don't like it or end up using it for an oil rag. Whatever right? Go ahead and buy a Smartwool product. If you don't like it, you can say I was wrong. December 8, 2010
Very good product True to fit, wool without itch. These are very lightweight boxers with a very smart combination of breathability and warmth. Sweat does not build up - an excellent baselayer for cooler weather activities. Waistband is a bit narrow and not very flexible, so it's tight going on over the hips. Once on it's very comfy - wear and forget about it! Does not ride up like some other brands. December 6, 2010
Best Boxers These are the best merino boxers on the market. I also have Icebreaker and Arc Teryx merino boxers. The Smartwool boxers have a perfect fit and do not ride up the leg like the others. I bought multiple pairs. Just wish there were bigger sales on these. December 5, 2010
everything and more I was needing something for my trips that would fold small but yet be comfortable. This fits that and then some. The flat seams helps with chaffing and you can wash this in the sink at night and will be dry or lightly damp by the morning. You can roll it in a dry towel to help remove extra water before hanging it in your room. It worked out so well that I got a few more for my upcoming trips. November 19, 2010
The anti-wedgie Started training for a marathon and found that I needed some undies that wouldn't ride up. I picked up two pairs of these boxers and have been running in them for about two weeks, absolutely no buyers remorse. They are pricey, but well worth it. November 9, 2010
best boxers ever Now had these boxers for close to a year very comfortable don't smell and wash well, I now only wear smartwool boxers, great fitfit October 13, 2010
Best Boxers I have owned. I am new to the world of Boxer Briefs. I have tried other styles and have had issues with the leg riding up and staying up with any extended range of motion. Not with these! They fit true to size and are the most comfortable boxers I have owned to date. They are great for daily wear. I have washed and line dried them several times with no shrinking. Great product Smartwool, worth every penny. October 11, 2010
Top-notch underwear for warm-weather travel. So comfortable you don't want to take them off. I bought them for traveling, especially warm-weather travel (Central America). Did a few test runs before upcoming trip and amazing how easily they hand-wash and completely dry by next morning. Not sure how the material will hold up over time, but so far so good. Bought 2 other pair so complete the underwear fleet for trips to the tropics. Liked the Smartwool material so much I also bought a t-shirt of same / similar fabric for hiking. $45 is a splurge, for sure, but if they deliver out in the field, will be well worth it. August 2, 2010
Excellent shorts for active-wear Very impressed with comfort and fit. And, I sweat everywhere in this part of the country regularly. Whether I'm at work and moving boxes to skateboarding on hot pavement... the shorts do the job of wicking away moisture. Purchased many Smartwool items over time, but... in this case... the most functionality comes from the clothing article least seen. July 21, 2010
Great product! I was a bit apprehensive about trying these wool shorts for a hot summer 14-mile hike in Big Bend National Park, Texas. However these shorts performed excellently and wicked the moisture away just as well as any Under Armor shorts. Highly recommended! June 14, 2010
These fit great! These are the best. I have tried many wool boxers and these fit great because of the location of the seams. Besides the benefits wool gives, such as no stink and taking the sweat away from your body Smartwool will not shrink like other competitors when placed in a dryer. June 12, 2010
5 Stars! These Smartwool boxers are extremely lightweight and extremely comfortable. I loved them so much I ordered a 2nd pair as soon as my first one arrived. I'm going to order a 3rd pair now! Order them, you won't be disappointed! May 24, 2010
So comfortable Love these. Extremely comfy and smell-proof. Will definitely get more. May 6, 2010
Unbelievable After using regular cotton underwear and spandex, I never thought I would own boxers this comfortable. Friends thought I was crazy for spending $45.00 on underwear, but they are worth every penny. I've worn these all weekend backpacking, realized I didn't do laundry and worn them on Monday as well without any smell or discomfort. Thinking of buying a second pair and throwing out my normal cotton boxer-briefs. April 18, 2010
Excellent Product Sometimes I feel like the Smartwool ambassador. I love these products. On a recent trip the weather went from snow to high temps and wearing these boxers was perfect. I was always comfortable. Well worth the $$'s April 12, 2010
super soft boxer brief! Awsome fit very comfy look great and wear even better. Well worth the scrilla. March 25, 2010
WELL worth the money Are these boxer briefs expensive ? Of course. Are they worth the money ? DEFINITELY and here's why... In order to test the "stench" control of these featherweight wool boxers vs. the same style synthetic ones I ordinarily wear,I wore a pair of each type continuously over a four day period in relatively cold wet weather and under moderate exertion each day. After day two, the synthetic pair (from a well-known supplier of outdoor clothing)was very noticeably "smelly", "clingy" and beginning to chafe. I experienced virtually none of either problem with these wool boxer briefs even after four days wearing and probably could have worn them longer if necessary. I was originally concerned about shrinkage of these boxer briefs in the wash given the wool material and their featherweight but after repeated warm water washing/rinsing and air drying there was none: the fit was virtually identical to the fit when new. As to sizing, I'm a 33 waist and found the medium just fine- they stretch ever so slightly after being on a bit and cover the groin area most susceptible to chafing without being overly constricting or "riding up", a problem that seems inherent to most synthetic boxer briefs (at least the two different brands I used previously). I have now replaced ALL of the synthetic boxer briefs I previously had with these and expect to have them a very long time based on the wear to date, which is negligible. Bottom line: BUY these- you won't stink, they'll wear like iron and you won't get "chafed" off the trail. March 22, 2010
Boxer King Men's Microweight Boxer are by far the best pair of underwear I have ever owned. Fit's very nice, not tight, and the best part is you don't even realize your wearing anything, very light. There is no odor so you can keep them on all week. January 25, 2010
Great Fit and Material Great fit and nice soft material. Works well in various temperatures. January 20, 2010
Comfortable & Functional Great in any situation- sizes run a little small. January 3, 2010
Smartwool ROCKS I added these boxers to my cold weather running gear. Smartwool keeps you warm even when they are wet and amazingly it never smells! How did they do that? December 28, 2009
Amazing I never thought wool would be comfortable and breathable. These are amazingly comfortable and keep me cool whether hiking or sitting on a hot airplane. I would highly recommend these. Fast, friendly service from Altrec too. August 10, 2009
Excellent comfort Great fit and comfortable under any short. June 14, 2009
excellent comfort Although i have not used these in multi day situations, these boxer-briefs are supremely comfortable and keep chafing problems from occurring. May 17, 2009
So far, so good Decided to give these a try as an alternative to the synthetics I've been using. Biggest issue with the synthetics has been odor control on multi-day trips in the mountains. The smartwool boxers have really proven themselves on the first couple outings. They have a looser fit, yet are still very comfortable and no odor even with multiple uses between washings. August 29, 2008
Fantastic and versatile These underwear are great for outdoor activities, over a broad range of temps. I ran with them in the cold of a Wisconsin winter, and a California marathon. They do not chafe, and do not stink, or fit too snugly around the waistline. Very well worth the investment. Better than synthetics. February 23, 2008
