Excellent Base Layer -
This has to be the best staple for anything outdoors. My husband and now my son wear them biking, hiking, and just in the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. They each have two!!!
They keep them dry and warm without being bulky under fleece and a raincoat. The price is suitable because they last for years - I suggest air dry for optimal / maximum lifetime of the garment. Easy to pack, and even make a nice shirt for jeans if you are going out. (My husband likes one size larger so he can wear a t-shirt underneath sometimes!) Highly recommend Excellent Garment.

Great wool shirt.
Good fit, slightly tight - but as a layering piece it should be. 5'10 160 and not so tight I can't wear it around as a nice shirt. Great warmth to weight ratio and all the other perks of wool.

I'm 5'3" and a 37" chest, 135lbs and the small fit me very well, the only problem I had was the material which I had hoped was a little thinner. This particular fabric felt a little thicker (somewhere in between a sweatshirt material and thick cotton t-shirt) but the stretch and feel was very comfortable, not itchy at all.

Love it
The design is close-to-skin so there's less room than a typical shirt but at 5'10" and 195 lbs it's not tight on me either. I was expecting "Midweight" material to be thicker but it's thickness is like normal t-shirt material. I love the design and style.

Smartwool zip Ts
I have owned a lot of clothing for outdoor activities, but I remain a wool user. Smartwool is the best next to skin fabric made. These layering garments will produce comfort like nothing else. Not too tight so that you get no abrasion of exposed parts or hair pulling (chest hair), and close enough to wick you dry and keep you warm. I own several zip Ts of different weights for different temps. The midweight one is good for significant cold, or for use with fewer layers. When outside, the zip t makes a turtleneck, helping to keep your outer layers clean as well, such as the neck on your down coast/sweater. You can wear it for a couple of days as well. Great stuff. Get some of everything.

I love smartwool tops more than life itself..
I live in the frozen tundra known as Massachusetts, and I found these smartwool tops to be the best tops ever. They are warm, versatile, don't smell, they breath. I am happy as a clam at high tide. I wasn't digging the women's colors, so I bought a men's medium (I had the women's large) and it fits just fine. I have to get another one the way this winter is going.

Very comfortable, but the cut is a little short
I purchased the Smartwool NTS Midweight Zip T to serve as a cool weather running top during our Louisiana wintertime. I've been using an Ibex Zepher Zip T-Neck which has been a perfect fit and weight. The Smartwool NTS Midweight is super-comfortable and soft, but it doesn't have quite enough density to wear alone on cold, windy, damp days. No worries...I'm going to use the NTS Midweight more for casual base layer during the winter. I'm long-waisted and the NTS Midweight is cut shorter than the Ibex pieces I own...I prefer the longer waist cut of the Ibex. All-in-all the NTS Midweight is a nice piece, but limited (for me) as a running performance top.

Can't go wrong with SmartWool
I think the medium weight is the perfect blend of thin, but really warm. It provides lots of layering options. I got the Medium. And, the fit is perfect for me. I am 5'7", 140 lbs. I highly recommend the half-zip model. I also have the crew style. But, I do not think that item is as versatile.

Love it!!
Item runs a little wide in the sides. If you have broad shoulders and are thinner still love it and wear it all the time.

Excellent product!
Soft wool and nice fit - I am 6'1", 198 lbs and large fit nicely...not too snug not too loose.

favorite base layer
This is my favorite base layer for 3 seasons. At 6'1", 190 the XL fits nicely, the L hugs my body. I preferred the XL and returned the L. I rarely take it off except to go to work or sleep. I'm looking for a summer alternative now.

My son loved this shirt.
It is warm while not too hot. It is soft and not at all scratchy and it breathes well. Looks and fits perfectly. This is an excellent quality shirt made by Smartwool.

come full circle...back to wool
Old school is good! You can't beat the new wools. Size and fit is just on the snug side of average...not loose fit. Very versatile underlayer, wide comfort range.

Best Undershirt!!
I wear this under my scrubs while doing surgery. This keeps me superwarm in the feezing O.R. Yet, it is breathable! I sleep with it, I work with it and I ski with it. Ultimately, the best shirt ever. I can't live without it. I own 50 of them, size Large is perfect for 6 feet, 180lbs guy. Buy it! Doctor's Rx.

Can't be beat!
The only base layer I haven't used is silk. Smartwool is far and away my favorite. I wear top and bottom every day, seven days a week. It's warm when the temps are low and cool when the temps are high. Always comfortable, never smelly (polypro never DOESN'T smell!), soft. More expensive than any other base layer I've seen...and worth it!

Great product -- runs short in length
This is a great product overall, however, I am 6'3" and both the sleeves and the body run a little short for a size large. I still consider it five stars--it just runs a little short.

High Quality
This shirt is form fitting, warm, and of high quality construction. Would recommend to anyone. I am 6'-0" and 175lb - the Large fits very snug...as intended.

Great Product
I ahve purchased several SmartWool products and have always been satisfied. They are unbeatable in comfort and warmth. The Zip T fits great and does not restrict motion.

Excellent product
I am getting back to wool again and smartwool products are one of my favorites. They make great products. Also there is no body odor with wool and it is warm on me when it gets damp from sweat. When synthetics get wet make me feel cold. The wool is great.
