OTC stands for Over-The-Calf, and "Heavy” cushioning means the cushy padding underfoot will absorb shock and insulate. Merino wool regulates moisture and stink while the 4 Degree Elite Fit System keeps them from bunching or slipping inside your boots.

this is my second pair of heavy weight socks and I like these socks. they are very warm and have extra cushion. I wear them in my hiking boots the last few weeks or so to keep my feet warm in the cold since its raining and windy in seattle now.

very warm winter socks. Smartwool is always a good choice. I have smartwool phd ski socks also. Both are of great quality with great cushion and support.
