Best Socks Ever

I bought a pair of these at a store in a very upscale neighborhood and immediately fell in love with them. I went on Altrec and found them for 30% less (regular price, not on sale!) and ordered 3 pairs on the spot. Price, quality, fit and delivery were all best-of-class. Now I've ordered some snow boots to go with them, and I can't wait to go outside this winter with warm feet!!

Are they thinner and smaller now?

Let me start by saying that I bought my first pair of PhD Smartwool socks here on Altrec and absolutely loved them. I ordered 3 more pair recently of the exact same type I had before because they were on sale. They new socks appear to be thinner and "smaller" than the ones I bought a year or two ago. Maybe something will happen after I wash them a few times but for now it appears the quality has slipped a bit. Still an excellent sock but for this price I want to be blown away.
