Best ever running hat!

This beanie is a must have for every runner! It's thin and lightweight but keeps my head warm without overheating. I intend to use it for ski touring as well. It felt a bit tight at beginning (I have a normal size head) so I put it over my son's teddy bear giant head overnight and now it's stretched out and fits perfect and comfy! It's so soft, does not feel and look like wool at all. Got it in black and just ordered another one in claret to bring in some color when wearing black running clothing.

Great work-out beanie

This beanie adjusts to your body temperature and is great when breaking a sweat at the gym. My only con is that is is a bit too tight, hopefully it stretches out as I wear out more.

Great, thin wool hat!! I was looking for a longer hat that would cover my husbands ears under his helmet. This is perfect!!! It was just what I was looking for and reversible so a bonus.

Great for running-keeps the chill off

I bought this for my son who seems to dislike wearing anything to keep warm, despite winter temps. He runs outside and this lightweight hat is a great compromise. He can run and it keeps the chill off without creating sweat around the head. Reviews said it was snug, and it is, but not too snug for his head, which is a little bigger than average (15 years old). Great hat.

I bought this to wear when I go running at 6:30am in the 15 degree weather and so far so good. I keeps my head toasty warm and wicks the sweat away very well. It could be a bit deeper and come down further on my head - I have a relatively small head and it only just covers my ears. All in all it's exactly what I wanted though!

Wore this under my bike helmet during a real wet bike camping trip. Kept me warm even though I was wet. No itch, long enough to pull over my ears, I love wool!!!

Great beanie

This is my second smartwool beanie, and I have been extremely satisfied with both. The material feels very soft yet durable, and I was pleased to see that the edge is somewhat elastic. However, I'm not sure exactly what they mean by "reversible" though, since there is a tag on the inside. Perhaps I'm missing something?

This is my third smartwool beanie. I love them. It real cozy! I wear it almost everyday both inside and outside. Look great on me. I hope they will make more same products in the future. I'm looking forward for it :)

keeps my head happy

My go-to winter hat. Comfortable, warm and stylish enough to wear with casual clothes; breathes well enough for light aerobic activity. This one's a little longer than previous models - I suppose to allow the wearer to cuff it and show off the inside accent color.

Love the hat for running in cool to cold weather in Colorado. It breathes enough for running and lets a lot of perspiration escape. I use it for all aerobic activities. Around the camp is good or to the store.

Perfect lightweight beanie

I love this lightweight beanie for all my outdoor activities.. it fits nicely under my bike helmet and keeps the warmth in and with Smartwool there is NO ITCH.... when I'm walking or hiking in the Fall weather it fits nicely into my daypack for the occasional rain or cool windy weather. I ordered the magenta color it makes me feel warm just looking at it...

Incredibly comfortable fit (most hats slip upwards off head, or are bulky and droopy)- this one seems to perfectly mold to the shape of the head. Odd to feel so happy about a hat purchase. It feels great, and keeps you warm without being too hot; it washes well and is overall a bargain for the price.

Fits well on a medium head. Material is soft to the touch... no itchy feel from this hat. Works well on the first few miles of a winter hike or to put on at lunch time as to not cool down too much. Great piece of gear!!

Great Hat for Running/Hiking

I am a big fan of Smartwool products and this hat only makes me like their products more. I trail run on a daily basis and wanted a new hat that was not only warm and comfy, but also visible to hunters. I ordered the color "sunrise" for its visibility. When I received the hat, I was pleasantly surprised at the shade of orange - it's visible but not at all obnoxious. And, the reversible side is a very pretty reddish purple. The hat is a good length - typically I cuff it so that it's not too long (it still covers my ears), but on really cold days I will appreciate being able to pull it down for more coverage. It fits snugly, but is very comfortable and, like all smartwool products, is not the least bit itchy.

great training hat

I really like the snug fit and lightweight comfort of this hat. It easily fits under my bike helmet, and even works as a kind of base-layer underneath another hat if it's super cold out. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a "training" hat - meant for when you're exercising hard. It's NOT warm enough to just wear around in really cold weather. Oh, and the colors are awesome.

This a perfect hat for an early morning run. Warm enough but not too hot. Color was true to picture. It is a bit big for me but since it is reversible I just fold it over a bit. I love it!
