If you want the best quality
September 11, 2011

Smartwool socks are definitely one of the best quality hiking socks out there, & you get what you pay for in a high-performance hiking sock: comfort, wicking-power & durability. I live on the edge of a state park, so I hike almost every day, rain or shine. These are one of my favorite socks. My husband and I are training for Half Dome right now, and, yes, I'll be wearing my Smartwools on the big day.

Fantastic socks!
July 03, 2013

These socks are great! They're good quality, comfortable, and durable. They're perfect for hiking as they protect feet from blisters, provide comfort, and wick moisture. I've worn these socks on countless hikes and they have yet to wear out or lose their shape. Smartwool is the best! Highly recommended!

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Soft and comfy sock
April 22, 2011

These are my first pair of Smartwool socks and definitely not my last! These socks are so soft and comfortable. I bought them for an upcoming hiking trip and I know they will provide the extra cushion I need for my plantar fasciitis.

Versatile warm socks
November 23, 2010

Smartwool's Hiking Medium Crew Socks are warm and comfortable. They have enough padding for hiking in boots, but not too much bulk to wear for warmth with casual slip-on shoes. They keep my feet warm and dry even when I break a sweat. These socks fit well: my feet don't slide around in them and they don't fall down during vigorous activities. Also, they are very durable, fitting and performing equally well after repeated uses and washes.

Pros: Great design, Performance
Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 5 / 5

These socks are great. I bought them to replace my old ones. They do seem to wear out - toes, heels - and need replacing after a season. But the fit is great and they do not shrink in washer/dryer.

Love these socks!
March 22, 2011

This is my third pair of Smartwool hiking socks! I love these socks so much. The toe and heel cushioning makes walking on my floors so comfortable, and of course they're perfect for my hiking boots. I haven't had them long enough to know their long-term durability, but they come out great in the wash.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

very comfy

I'm not much of an outdoors person, but I climbed Mt. Fuji this Summer and these socks worked perfectly with my hiking boots. I had no blisters whatsoever and my feet were dry after my climb. I bought a pair in men's for my husband and they worked great for him as well.

great for hiking

these sock are the best, keep my feet blister free and dry after a long day on the trail. They launder great and keep their size. Highly recommend Smartwool socks!

Warmest sock ever
February 24, 2010

My sister-in-law told me to buy these socks after I complained my feet were always freezing. They are the most comfortable socks I've ever worn and my feet were warm all day long even in the Chicago snow.

Warm and Cozy
April 22, 2010

These socks have been keeping my feet both warm and comfortable. The thickness of these socks makes them extremely comfortable with my trail runners. I've worn these socks a few times when the sun has been out and have noticed that they breathe well making them great for those days that start chilly and then suddenly warm up.

Smart Wool is the only way
December 18, 2010

It goes without saying that any smartwool sock is beyond fabulous. These are no exception. These make for a great sock to wear with your backpacking boots on long expiditions to just wearing them around the house when it's a bit cool. The mid rise is perfect for a higher rising boot and they don't fall down which is huge! Nothing is worse than constantly adjusting your socks on top of a mountain.

Great for Running. Warm.
March 13, 2009

I haven't got the chance of hiking recently, but I had done lots of running in these socks and they did a great job. They can improve the feelings of running shoes greatly and all my other socks cann't do this. Besides, they are really warm and with them running shoes for summer would be warm enough in early spring(0C).

I bought my wife a pair of the light hikers last summer before we got married so she would be well taken care of on our hikes. I personally have the Men's mid-weight socks and love them! My wife says these socks have treated her very well and she can't imagine any other sock being better. Smartwool brand will last a long time. We wore them a lot during the winter months, which equals a lot of laundering, and still they've held up without any problems. Your feet will love them!

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value

Very soft
March 25, 2009

These socks were great! They kept me dry and comfortable. I'll definitely pick up a couple more pairs of these. They didn't keep me as warm as I thought they would, so I don't recommend them for below freezing temps.
