Happy With Purchase
February 11, 2013
This is the first time I have worn wool underwear and I am happy with the product so far. I decided to try wool underwear because I heard the material was breathable, wicks sweat (great for an active lifestyle) and does not retain odors as synthetic material does. I was concerned that the wool would be itchy but they were not itchy at all, they are slightly more rough than cotton or polyester but still very comfy. I did order a Large because I thought that they might shrink in the wash (the label says that you can dry clean but, come on! Who dry cleans underwear! And what dry cleaner takes underwear?) and some reviews said they run a little small. I usually wear a medium sometimes a large depending on designer, but I am happy I went with the large. I am not sure if they shrunk or not (I did wash in warm water on regular cycle not gentle and threw them in the dryer) but the large fits comfortably and really that is why you buy this type of underwear. The cut is nice too, full back but not too grannyish, the rise around the leg is just right, and the waistband is not too low nor too high, a nice bikini style. I would buy more of the underwear if they are on sale again because they are a bit pricey. I can't say how durable they are as I have only washed and worn them once.

Nice fit, feel and great quality as expected from Smartwool. A little on the pricey side, but very much worth it. I'm assuming that durability will be similar to other Smartwool products, but yet to be seen.
