Comfy & Doesn't Hold Odor!
October 19, 2010
Wool just can't be beat in my opinion for moisture handling, comfort, and NOT holding odors. I wash these in cold and line dry and have had no shrinkage. Medium fit perfectly...I'm 5'5" and 128lbs. Great as leggings under a skirt too. I found the microweight warm and easy to wear under jeans, or as PJ's alone. They scrunch up pretty well for packing/travel too. Kept me warm on a 38 degree morning hauling wood. Wore a pair camping over the weekend, and everyday, and they did not stretch out. Maintained good fit and comfort the whole time. Highly recommended!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: Costthe perfect wool leggings

I have been looking for a pair of wool leggings for 2+ years now since I moved to Ontario. Just got these and they are (almost) perfect! Very thin and light, but not see-through. Can be worn outside for running, inside as lounge pants/sleep pants, or as underpants when it's really cold. Appropriate as tights under a casual sweater dress or skirt too. They were very slightly itchy- but just very very slightly- when I first put them on because my skin is fairly dry, not because I'm sensitive to wool. It didn't bother me, but I'm not sure if it might bother someone who is sensitive to wool. After washing they became even softer. The fit is true-to-size in my opinion. I am a size 0 regular, and the XS is a good fit. The waistband is also very comfortable- not too tight or loose. They will be very well used this winter. Highly recommended.
Pros: Great design, Ease of use, versatileSurprisingly warm

These tights are really warm for what they are. They fit really snug and nice under a pair of pants too. Only complaint is they did not hold up well. I washed them in a washing machine and then air dried them. After a couple of wears they started getting holes and then one day i went to pull them on and they just ripped. I'm really disappointed about that. If they held up better they'd be my favorite tights.
Pros: Performance, very warm, Cons: Wears quickly, Cost, Poor qualityamazing product

My fiance bought those Smartwool thermals for me and asked me to review them. This is a second time I buy this product, the last one hold for a year. And I have to say - these thermals are really amazing. They are warm, light and cozy. I can wear them under my jeans and feel very comfortable. I'm petite, but they are not too long to wear. I will definitely buy from this line again.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceNot too thin...Perfect.

I read quite a few reviews on these before buying them and almost went with the midweight because someone said they ripped theirs pulling them on which indicated to me they were very thin. They are thin but not as thin as I thought and you would really have to try hard to rip them. Perfect. Love em.
Ran Small

I love the smartwool microweight bottoms, but they ran a little small. I had to exchange the xs I bought for the smalls but other than that they are great.

I was looking for thermals that weren't too hot, light weight and warm. They are perfect to wear under my scrubs in FL. I plan on ordering a set of the midweight to take with me next month when I go snowboarding.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: CostToo Scratchy!

I am sure the quality was fine but the wool even in a microlight was too scratchy for me!
Excellent Base Layer/Sleep Wear
April 11, 2013
I bought these for my trip to Morroco to use as sleep wear and layering for hiking in the desert. They were never too warm or too cold and did not stink. Plus my tush looked great.

Good fit, soft warm fabric, pretty purple color. I even wear them with boots and a skirt. Highly recommend Smartwool for, well, everything. Great quality, washes well. I avoid the dryer though.

I was looking for a lightweight bottom to wear under my flight uniform. I loved the way the bottoms feel and they definitely keep me warm while I am loading patients either in the helicopter , airplane or ambulance. I was surprised that they tore very easily. I called Altrec to see about a return and they were very accomadating with the return process. While this product didn't work for me, I would like the company and how I was treated. Thank Kyle for your help!
Good purchase

I was afraid these would be too thin. But they actually have decent coverage and are very comfortable, with little itch factor.
good product but not for winter
December 17, 2011
I bought this with the intentions of keeping me warm in the winter. When I realized that it was too thin and would not be able to keep me warm was when I decided to return the product and get something thicker. However I think it is warm during the fall but it will not be able to keep me warm during the winter.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: CostPerfect base layer

I am very pleased with microweight bottoms in black color from Smartwool. I purchased encouraged by high quality of previously purchased socks... I highly recommend them for cold weather as a base layer or for lounging around house. My only complaint is they are shorter than ideal for me (I am 5'10" tall). Additional two inches of length would be perfect for me.
