I've used several variations on these socks over the years and they are always wonderful. The height of the PhD run mini socks is perfect for trail running with a snug (but not tight) ankle cuff that keeps rocks out of your socks. The padding is distributed very nicely for runners and the special sections meant to keep the sock snug on your foot work perfectly. I have size 9.5 feet and buy size Large (which officially starts at size 10). They fit very well and do not slide. They wash well and last a long time.
