The most comfortable ski socks ever
January 23, 2011
I bought the Ph D ski medium socks at the last minute before my skiing trip, and was not disappointed. They were soft and sturdy enough to protect my ankles without leaving marks from the boots during my 3-day down hill skiing. They also kept my feet warm, although I tended to have cold feet. Because these were the only pair that I took with me for the trip, I dried them neaer the heater at night and wore them for 3 days in a row. But they felt dry and toasty for the enire trip. The color and design were also very attractive and femine, and it made me feel good wearing them. Since it was right before Christimas, I was nervous about possible delay of the delivery but it arrived on time, and I was thrilled with their services. I cannot say anything about duration yet, since I bought them right before Christmas 2010. So far, so good.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Top of the Line

These are the ultimate ski socks. I will only buy SmartWool. They are the most comfortable brand out there. And these have an awesome design to accent my strong legs.Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use
Best Ski Socks I own
March 08, 2011
I ski every weekend and these are by far the warmest, most comfortable ski socks I have ever had. Not once have I needed toe warmers this season, I wear the 2 times a week, wash them ever week, air dry them and they are in great shape after approximately 20 wears and washes. Highlt recommended.Pros: Build quality, Performance
love me some Smartwool socks!
January 17, 2010
I am a sock person currently living in the cold winter of SW VA. I don't understand how some people wear flip flops out here during frigid temps. Anyways, I have purchased only Smartwool and Icebreaker socks since I moved here. I own many pairs of ski socks and have found Smartwool to be among the best- they wash well, wear incredibly comfortably, do not smell, and keep my feet very happy. I do not mind spending the extra cash- they are well worth it.

I bought these for my wife for our recent ski vacation. She found them to be very warm and comfortable and really liked the pattern too. Great products that you can rely on.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: Cost

These socks are really warm and have a nice fit. I have worn them a few times already and they seem quite durable so far. Material is nice but still a little costly for a pair of socks.Pros: Build quality, Performance, Cons: Cost

As a first time skier used to a warm climate I was very concerned about having cold feet all day. A friend recommended Smartwool socks and I'm so glad I ordered some. My skin is sometimes sensitive to wool, but while the socks felt minimally scratchy to me, I didn't notice anything once they were on. They did an amazing job of keeping my feet warm and dry all day. I am ordering other Smartwool socks to try for hiking!Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
nice, bright colors, deliciously soft knit

My first Smart Wool purchase and I love them. Super warm, great cushioning and cute design. Bought some for my husband too! Love Altrec.com's customer service too.

I live in these socks in the winter. Great to wear under boots for added warmth. Love the medium cushion - it's so great for added comfort, but not the best to wear in tight shoes.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
All the style and quality you get from SmartWool
January 02, 2011
A fun design and high quality ski sock. They are definitely a lighter weight and have more venting areas than my other SmartWool ski socks. Can't be used on super cold days but perfect for warmer ski days and cushioned just right to prevent blisters/abrasions.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance

I have few of these socks for skiing and just love them. I never had a problem with my feet getting cold or sweaty in my ski boots with these socks. Great buy!
Wonderful warm socks
February 21, 2011
I love these socks. SmartWool makes some of the greatest socks ever. I own about 12 pairs of SmartWool socks, different varieties for different activities. The quality of these PhD Medium Ski socks are no different. I have had no complaints with these socks, as they have kept my feet warm and dry in 10-20 degree weather, in cold snowy days, and also on my trips to very cold places. I have not had to wear a second layer because these socks have done a tremendous job keeping my feet warm and dry by themselves. Runs a little small. I wear size 9 in shoes and 9.5 in boots. I always purchase medium in other brands, but in SmartWool I usually purchase the large size.Pros: Great design, Build quality, comfortable, warm
women's phd ski medium socks
November 20, 2010
I love these socks for alot of reasons...number one is fit and warmth.I am a ski instructor and spend alot of hours in my boots. My feet stay warm and the socks last long thru repeated washings. I love all the new graphics they come up with on the socks and always look forward to the new designs. I also like that I can buy a sock that fits my foot with women's style ( since I wear a women's 10 shoe and have in the past had to buy men's socks to fit right ).I have worn smartwool for years and LOVE all there products. From someone who lives in it and works in it and is hard on gear...2 thumbs and all my toes up!Pros: Great design, Lasts forever

I live in the north and walk outside throughout the winter. I have been searching for a sock that would stay up and keep me warm without adding too much padding in my shoe. This sock is great. I have hiked miles already in the recent cold snap and stayed comfortable and warm.
February 07, 2011
I was very happy with the socks. They were warm, soft, and very comfortable. I liked the extra padding in the foot and shin area. They washed very nicely. Bought a pair for my daughter. She loved them too.Pros: Great design, Performance
warm and cushioned!
December 06, 2010
my first pair of Smatwool socks and I love them! I wear a size 6 so a small fits perfectly. Using them for nordic skiing and general running around. They get a little fuzzy after washing in the machine but smooth out as you wear them. I will probably hang them to dry instead of putting them in the dryer as they shrink even on low. But you can wet 'em down and stretch them back to shape, so no big deal. And they don't itch, either! Colors are fun too. Will be getting more I'm sure!Pros: Great design, Performance, Cons: Cost
Loved the socks
February 15, 2011
I purchased these socks for skiing this year rather than wearing my old fashioned silk stockings with regular wool socks over them. I was concerned that my feet would be cold because the socks were not at all bulky. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did the socks keep my feet warm without being bulky, but the cushioning was in just the right places to be comfortable in my ski boots. While this is my first experience with this type of sock, I was very satisfied and would purchase again.Pros: Great design, Build quality
January 04, 2013
These socks fit well and keep my toes toasty. They are well made and the merino wool is my favorite. Even on the coldest days here in the northwest I choose these.
March 16, 2009
I bought these socks for skiing, but they're so comfortable I'm wearing them as my everyday socks!
Warm and perfectly cushioned
February 27, 2011
These socks are not only cute, the keep my normally freezing feet warm and comfy. My cold feet are usually what force me to take a lodge break from the slopes. Two consecutive cold ski days without stopping, and I'm thrilled. Also, the cushioning is perfect. No shin complaints!Pros: Great design, Performance, Cons: Cost
