got this hat in the violet/pink color for winter hiking. love the pattern and color - the hat is very soft and warm. only downside is that the hat seems to run a little small. i don't have a large head, but this hat didn't fully cover my ears - only covered about halfway (maybe i just have low ears?). i like a hat that fully covers my ears because i get terrible earaches when the wind blows into them, and this one just didn't cut it. it's so cute, though that i really want it to fit! sadness. i kept the hat anyway to maybe wear for shoulder season low-wind hikes.

This is a hat made Smart Wool. Just like my other Smart Wool product, it is made with high quality. It is thicker than my other merino wool hat so it is very warm, a perfect gear for my early morning train ride to work. Not only this hat is functional and it is very cute.

Pros: Great color, pattern, style and shape. Cons: No liner and fits very snuggly. Wool is soft, but a fleece lining is softer.
