fog between lenses

Too bad that, in the I/O, Smith has made some of the best looking/fastest lens change snow goggles on the market...only to be made null and void by the fact they fog between the lenses in cold and/or stormy conditions. I tried 3 different versions of the sensor lens, spanning 2 seasons and different times of the season and they all fogged between the lenses. For 2013, Smith claims they've put more anti-fog coating on all versions of the I/O, but I'm pretty sure the coating is on the inside of the inner lens (surface facing wearers face), so I can't see how that would help keep fog from between the lenses. Smith has great sunglass optics and designs, but their snow research & development is obviously lacking (had a feeling I, a customer, was their R&D). Snow goggles that fog are bad..snow goggles that fog between the lenses are completely useless garbage.

The lens and style was great, although there was not enough foam around the nose to create a seal, forcing me to try a different model.

Not only do these goggles fog up, they form a haze in between the lenses when they get cold. Both lenses that I tried had the same problem. They really don't work at all. They also leak a lot of air, but that's not nearly as bad as not being able to see.

Bought these goggles for my husband. He loves them, especially the two lenses: one for bright sun and the other for cloudy days. The design is fantastic.

I love the I/O goggle, the evolve edition is made from mostly recycled plastic, and the super quick interchangeable lens option is sick. I can change a lenses in seconds, on the lift, at the top of a line, whereever; it's fast and sweet.

One Size Does Not Fit All

I wear a Giro helmet [size M]. I had to expand the strap to its maximum size to 'fit' and the goggles put a lot of pressure on my face [had goggle marks for 2 hours after taking them off]. The goggles didn't create a great seal, some cold air was blowing through while heading down the slopes. I like the style, the lense switching was very simple, but ultimately I had to return them. I really wish they had other sizes.

Best goggles ever owned

The $ is a bit steep, but worth every penny. After changing the lenses 1 X 2 times it is a breeaz and can be done in less the 1 minute. Great to have the different shades for diffferent light. The view of sight is wonderful and one reviewer commented on the air coming into the goggle. I believe this to be true but it's not enough to bother me ad obviously contributes greatly to them not fogging. I love them and wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair when these have run their course.
