Ride Snowboards Control Snowboard:
Making the move from entry-level snowboards to performance models can eat up summer earnings, but Ride's Foundation-style Control snowboard stands apart as an exception. It features Ride's 45-Degree Thin Construction Sidewall that smoothes out some of the bumps along the upper edge of the learning curve. Ride tapered the core and added a deeper 45-degree sidewall to complement aggressive riding styles. Many recreational snowboards opt for 90-degree sidewalls for a stable and forgiving arc-following design. The 45-degree sidewall on the Control snowboard offers better edge hold--especially on hardpack--and quickly transitions for edge-to-edge performance. The 45-Degree Thin Construction Sidewall also tapers along the Control's tip and tail for a lower swing weight that makes it easier to rotate while airborne. The Control also has linear carbon stringers that add pop without messing up the intermediate-friendly predictability. These laminated stringers add more response and keep the ride interesting for recreational snowboarders who already know an advanced trick or two. Ride keeps the Control affordable and predictable with their Progression Tuned Core, one of four Tuned Cores used by Ride. Progression Tuned Cores give Ride snowboards a lively flex with plenty of strength and durability to take hard hits. The core is wrapped in a Biaxial fiberglass construction along the top and bottom that features stitching at 90-degree angles for lightweight durability. Unlike other snowboard companies that use woven fiberglass, the stitched fiberglass construction on Ride snowboards are flatter and more consistent for durability that surpasses conventional snowboard designs. Along the Control's base you'll find Ride's 1500 grade extruded fusion base, a faster base that's 25% harder than the 1000 grade extruded bases found on recreational snowboards. 1500 Grade Base easily absorbs wax and facilitates repairs and performance tuning. If you're looking for a snowboard that takes you several rungs up the performance ladder without dragging your toes into debt, Ride's Controls snowboard is where the smart money goes. If you wear size 10 or larger boots, check out the wider version of the Control: The Ride Fleetwood.
