Outdoor enthusiasts who buy the Caribou generally keep it forever--or at least until the felt liner wears thin. That's why Sorel updated their timeless classic a decade ago with a removable (and replaceable) 9 mm. ThermoPlus® felt InnerBoot. It has an enhanced moisture-wicking four-layer construction that insulates while reflecting body heat back to your foot. The Caribou™ features a waterproof, full grain leather upper that keeps rain, snow and slush out of your socks. We love ours for après, especially in the early winter or spring when village streets and parking lots run gray with oozing channels of slush. The streamlined Aerotrac™ outsole might look a little different from the heavy lug sole of classic Caribou™ boots, but the claw-like grip remains the same, especially on polished ice surfaces.

I purchased these boots in January 2008, so I have been using them for about one year. I mostly use them for shoveling the snow from my driveway during the long Michigan winters. They have done a great job of keeping my feet warm and have great traction. If I use two pairs of socks, my feet are on fire. The rest of my body may be cold but I can always count on my feet staying warm and dry. I was able to purchase them at a discount, but even at full price it is well worth the investment.

I purchased these boots for my husband as a Christmas gift and he absolutely loves them! They keep his feet dry and warm as he clears the snow off our really long driveway. He also reports that they're comfy and have great traction. I'm impressed and am looking into a pair of women's sorels now.

Everyone I know who has a pair swears by them but be sure to downsize at least one whole size from your regular shoes as these boots run large and will pad out once worn in.

these boots are fantastic. they're classic sorels. they crazy warm and waterproof. the only drawback with these boots is that they because they're so waterproof and warm, they're really hard to drive in because they don't flex very much. But you probably shouldn't be driving in them anyway!

Everyone, My dad just gave me his old pair of Caribou...when i say old, he plowed snow in them back in 1976, yes 30 yrs old. Only thing that i have changed is the liner, quick and easy. These boots are awsome.

My boots arrived a day or two before the nasty Oklahoma ice storm.Thus, I had the opportunity to break them in on 4'' of ice for over a week.The tread traction was great and the boots were warm. So far so good.I assume thAT THEY WILL WORK WELL IN SNOW. wE SHALL SEE.

The boots is very warm and surprisingly lightweight, haven't used the boots enough to say anything about the quality of the craftsmanship, but by the look and feel of the boots it will be very good. All in all a very nice and warm pair of boots.

Sorel always makes a great product! This boot is an awesome asset in an arsenal that doesn't need to be crowded by other types. This boot covers it all.

The Sorel caribou is a classic packboot. I've used them to to stand in the snow for 8 hours as lift op, work construction during the winter and for just kickin' around town when it snows. The felt liners do pack out after a season but the trade off is extra room for some war socks. Some things to know are: your feet get wet from sweat eventually-when working- so have a change of socks handy and they don't provide much arch support. other than that a great choice for cold weather

I got my first sorels 2nd hand over 15 yrs ago. All i can say is that i want wear anything else and i just wish they made a snow boarding boot designed on the original.
For the price you can't do better, not to mention they look cool when stepin out for to the bar.

My wife has had her pair for more than five years and they are very durable. Very nice snow boots. Very comfortable and warm. It grips well on snow. It may be half or full size bigger than your normal shoe size, so order it slightly smaller.

After a few years of faithful service, I had to replace an old pair of my father's hand-me-down Sorel's. I went with the same size (I'm 10 1/2 and go for a size 11 when wearing insulated socks) and I tell you these boots are the BEST! A great price and they feel incredibly comfortable. These are excellent boots for snow and cold conditions. I finally tried of cold feet. Several co workers swear by sorels and I now know why. The transactions altrec could not have gone smoother, plus no shipping or sales tax. In addition, if you order sorels try one size smaller than normally fits. I wear a 11 1/2 so I ordered 12's. size 11's were perfect. I love the boots.

I tried the boots on as soon as they arrived, they felt really comfortable, after walking around the house in them I noticed how warm they kept my feet, I am anxious to try them in the snow next month, I dont see any problems as they are so well made, the stitching is really close and the quality is obvious.

The boots are very well made and fit me like they were specially made for me. The fact that they are 100% waterproof will provide me with years of enjoyable use. On thing I would like to see changed is the bunny white material that is part of the lining other than that I am very happy with my purchase.

Make sure you downsize! I wear 11 1/2 in Asolo TPS hiking boots, so I ordered a size 11. Way too big, so am having to return them for size 10's.

Perfect boot for Canadian winters! It's hard to find a boot that is both 100% waterproof AND warm. This one fits the bill. Sorel boots are tried and true and the Caribou is no exception.

The boots are very comfortable with a sturdy but not too heavy feel. I bought 1 size smaller than normal shoe size and they are borderline-short. I'll need very thick socks to fill the boots with narrow feet. Shipping was reasonably fast.

These boots are wonderful! They are great for the snow and slush of Chicago, keeping my feet warm and very dry. I had some friends suggest looking into Sorel boots and I am very glad that I purchased my first pair. And Altrec shipped fast and did a great job with my order. I don't really have much to compare them with since these are my first ever snow boots. My feet swim around in them, even with thick socks but they are warm and waterproof. I tried them out yesterday snowshoeing and they worked out ok.

I have purchased two pairs of these boots in as many years. Both pairs had cracks in the top rubber within 6 months. I will go elsewhere for my next winter boots. I am very disappointed as the Sorel brand used to be dependable.
