Great Boot
January 18, 2011
Bought this pair of snow boots for ski trips to snowy Vermont. These boots have been great. The fit well, are comfortable, and keep my feet dry. Great product, would reccomend.
Looks like a great boot!

I ordered these boots for my husband for this upcoming winter. Although he hasn't tested them out for a season of cold and snow yet, they are exactly what he wanted, loved the look of them! He needed snow boots but didn't like the furry trim around most of them. Very pleased so far.

Snowpocalypse proof
January 24, 2011
While Altrec did not make originally clear that the boots were back-ordered (took about an extra week), they are totally worth the wait. This is my first pair of boots like this and they've been a lifesaver a few times already. They fit well (follow the sizing directions and wear thicker socks) and look great. I'm trying to wear them as much possible as quickly as possible so I can break them in a bit better, though. Quite impressed overall.
Pros: Build quality, Great valuePerfect for very cold days
March 05, 2011
I wouldn't want to go backpacking in these boots, but they're perfect for tromping about on the coldest days when most of your time will be spent walking around in cold, slushy streets. The felt lining makes for a very warm boot, so if you're wearing it to work indoors it might be worth having another pair of shoes to slip into as my feet got pretty sweaty throughout a day at the office. I also wish they came in half sizes--I wear a 7.5 EE in dress shoes, 8.5 tennis shoes, and size 8 at the store felt huge in these. I ordered 7 and they fit fine, but I think a 7.5 would be perfect.
Pros: looks great, very warm, Cons: no half sizesNo Liners?

Great boots - but couldn't find Sorel boot liners to add to order as long as I had free shipping. I'm supposed to type more text so will repeat - I wanted to order extra Sorel liners for older pair of boots.

Found exactly what I wanted
January 21, 2011
My old pair of insulated boots finally wore out after 15 years and several repairs. I'm very picky and have spent two years trying to find a replacement. These boots are exactly what I was looking for! First of all, they fit perfectly. I ordered men's because I have wide feet and the men's 7 fits better than women's 9. There's plenty of room, but not too much, with medium weight socks. The tread design is especially good for slippery roads or paths-much better than a vibram sole, in my opinion. They are very well made and I'm betting they will out last my other pair. I love the black color with the taupe trim too. I never thought I would find boots that I liked as much as my other pair but I actually like these better! I'm tempted to buy another pair in case they stop making this model.
Pros: Great valueGreat Boot

For casual winter use, this old style pac boot design is hard to beat. It's easy to see why they're a popular seller. They feel like a pair of waterproof, insulated snow slippers--they don't provide much cushioning or support, but give your feet the freedom they crave--especially if you have wide feet like mine. Overall, they are warm, comfy and nice looking, for a warm, bulky, comfy winter boot. Great buy.

best winter work/sport boot I know
February 05, 2011
I discovered these boots 30 years ago while living in Montana. As good now as they were then. Very warm, dry, utilitarian.and easy to take on and off. This will be my 3rd pair. The loops on top in back for pulling on need to be bigger to accomadate my fingers. Too bad the traction treads wear fast if worn on concrete or pavement too much. Otherwise, these boots last forever.
Size down!
January 14, 2013
These boots are much lighter and more comfortable than the Sorel Caribous. There isn't much support so I would not recommend them for hiking. They run large so be sure to size down 1/2 to 1 size.
Pros: durable, comfortableNice but too big
October 12, 2011
I was excited to get these. The tobacco color was great looking and just as pictured. Seemed well made but alas the 11 I ordered were too big and the 11 is my normal size.
Best for wet, best for warmth
December 20, 2011
These have been the best wet weather boots I have yet tried yet. I tend to do a lot of walking in the outdoors, especially swampy places and these boots have been great for keeping the water out and feet warm. The flexible leather really allows the foot to move and generate heat, unlike other, more rigid boots.
Pros: warmth, keeping water outGreat Boots

My boots are just as expected. I used them to hike in the Big Trees state park in California. My feet stayed warm and dry and I did not fall down. I am very happy.

Great for Rain or Snow
November 09, 2011
These boots are great. They are warm and keep you dry while being stylish at the same time. I have been wanting some Sorel boots but was not interested in having the fur stick out the top. When I found these on sale it was a no brainer. I would definitely recommend these for construction, fit and comfort all in one. Great boots!

Ideal winter foot wear with old school feel
June 30, 2011
These boots are very well made and great looking with an old school flair. The liners are very warm and the exterior is waterproof rubber. The sole is very aggressive and should help in slip resistance. This boot weighs slightly more that others I have tried but its rugged, time tested performance out classes competition.

nice and warm
March 24, 2011
they are what they are. if you like the look, then they are highly recommended. They're nice and warm, not too heavy, and appear to be well made - only time will tell. I got them just before a mid-march camping trip in the Adirondacks, and they kept me warm and toasty, though it wasn't very cold (low 30s). The snow was wet, and getting to the outhouse and water from a creek was no problem. The fit is a little large (I wish they had half sizes), but I put in a pair of gel insoles, and now they fit great. In fact, if you are going to walk any distance with them I recommend a cushioned insole as there isn't much cushion in them, and when "pounding the pavement" they are a little hard. My walk to work is 20 minutes or so, and these are great in the snow and slush, and perfect with insoles.
Pros: warm, dry, Cons: no half sizesWarm and Rugged
December 15, 2011
These boots are very warm and I would definitely say they are designed for snow specifically vs. rain as some others have mentioned. The sole does not have aggressive tread but it still works great and sheds snow. These boots are a bit bulky (in my opinion) but I love them for getting around in poor weather. If you are going to be very active I would think you would want something more form fitting.
Great Boots!

These are functional and fashionable at the same time. Great purchase! Impressed with the product and the customer service!
Large Boots
February 07, 2013
Make sure you use the measurement guide from Sorel's website to size your feet. I'm a rock solid 13, but this was too long and too wide, returned for a size 12 that was spot on. The Sorel fit guide told me I was a size 12.

Super Warm
December 08, 2012
Incredibly warm, comfortable, and reasonably stylish (enough to get by at a casual ski resturant certainly). Great in up to 8 inches of snow or water. Felt liners can start to smell after enough use, but thankfully are replaceable.
