Seems great -- but hard to tell before the winter is here

Bought these boots on sale in May. They have a great fit, but I can't really give a decent review until winter is here.

I received these Sorels just in time for a 4 inch snowfall on a 7 degree Wisconsin day. Out of the box the fit was perfect. I had some misgivings on size selection, I wear a US 11 size street shoe and I was replacing a size 11 LL Bean boot that separated at the sole. With no half sizes available I went with an 11 based on reviews stating a generous width. Im glad I did. The extra wiggle room in the toes is comfortable and great should I need thick wool socks, which I do not in these boots. Two hours in the cold snowy element with cotton socks and my feet were dry and toasty warm. Grip on snow surfaces before and after shoveling is surefooted however this brings me to my one dislike for the boot. On icy surfaces these boots are quite slippery with little to no grip, very similar to ice skates.Pros: warm, extra room in toes, waterproof, good ankle support, easy to lace up, excellent grip on snow, Cons: no grip on ice
Excellent boot for cold climates; has an roomy toe box

An excellent boot for general use in cold climates. I have bought several of these boots for the exchange students staying with us and all have loved them. We live in Northern Michigan where temperatures can remain below freezing for two months or longer. I especially like the roomy toe box the boots have; my toes have room to wiggle and don't get cold.
good winter boot

Purchased for husband whose previous Columbia snow boot has split open where leather and rubber are sewn together. He says they are comfortable, warm, and have good traction. They are more comfortable than the old boots. He uses them to clear the driveway and also on ski trips to walk around town. Would buy again.Pros: Build quality

Excellent product. Great fit. Could not try it out in the warm temperatures this year, but it feels wonderful. Prompt delivery and great price. Highly recommended.
Men's Cold Mountain Snow Boot
April 30, 2011
I recently purchased these boots for my son as we were headed to Mammoth Mountain, CA for a snow vacation. The boots seemed to be very comfortable and warm for my son. He was making a snow run for his sled to go down the slope and the snow was pretty deep. The boots kept his feet very warm. The boots look very stylish too. I was very impressed with the style as well. I would recommended these boots.Pros: price was good, Cons: don't have one yet
